When TRINIDAD FOUGHT JONES JR AND WRIGHT, I COULD NOT SEE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRINIDAD WHO FOUGHT ROY JONES FROM THE TRINIDAD THAT FOUGHT MAYORGA,VARGAS OR DE LA HOYA. NOVICES (MANY OF YOU) THROW THE WORD "WASHED UP" AROUND TOO LIGHTLY, JUST BECAUSE SOMEBODY LOSES. SHANE MOSLEY LOOKED THE SAME VS COTTO HAS HE ALWAYS HAVE, COTTO'S BODY ATTACK WILL SLOW ANYBODY DOWN @ WELTERWEIGHT IF HE LANDS.
DE LA HOYA DID NOT LOOK WASHED UP VS MAYWEATHER, AND I HAD THE FIGHT BEING A DRAW, DE LA HOYA IF HE COULD MAKE WELTERWEIGHT COULD COMPETE WITH ANYBODY AT WELTERWEIGHT, AND I WOULD FAVOR HIM VS MARGARITO BERTO CINTRON COTTO JUDAH CHAVEZ JR AND CLUMSY WILLIAMS. I THINK MAYWEATHER FITS MORE @ 147 THEN 154 AND WOULD UD DE LA HOYA EASIER. DE LA HOYA IS STRONGER THEN MAYWEATHER @ 154.
THE JULIO CHAVEZ THAT FOUGHT DE LA HOYA WAS NOT WASHED UP, HE'S ALWAYS BEEN A TAKE 3 PUNCHES TOO LAND 1 TYPE OF FIGHTER AND WITH A GUY WITH DISCENT POWER THAT TACTIC DOES NOT WORK!
IF YOUR GOING TO SAY SOMEONE IS WASHED UP JUST BECAUSE THEY LOSE THEN DAMN IT GIVE AN EXPLANATION!
ROY JONES HAS DECLINED, EVANDER HOLYFIEND HAS DECLINED, ANDREW GOLOTA HAS DECLINED...JOE CALZAGHE LOOKS THE SAME AS HE ALWAYS HAS.
In his biggest strenghts, power and stamina. He boxed ok thou.
Well, Power is the last attribute to go.
I thought he was noticably slower, and just flat out not as good a boxer as he used to be.
and your flat out an asshole, do you think he is going to treat roy jones or winky wright like he did oba carr or yory boy campas? NO. Trinidad looks the same as he always has, so does Mayorga
how come roy gets no credit for showing crisp combinations ALL 12 rounds, being 39 years old, and being a former heavyweight champion who made 169 1/2 pounds... and showed little if ANY stamina problems... why does he get no credit for that, i cant see it
Tito's punching power is reduced to average when fighting above the 160 Ibs. Middleweight division and his stamina appeared to be affected by the excess weight
Trinidad is'nt washed up and he never should have retired. He missed a lot of good years sitting on the sidelines because he could'nt handle losing.
I agree, he should have came back after the Hopkins KO and Tito has himself to blame for taking the Jones fight after the Wright fight.
The reason Tito picked Jones to fight was because Tito hated not being in the spotlight and Roy was his best bet to gain maximum exposure as to fighting a lesser know guy.

I stopped reading here.
Tito looked decent against Jones, but he is clearly carrying too much weight around the midsection and he was not nearly as effective the second half of the fight as he was the first.
He's declined because his body has matured enough that he cant make his best weights anymore. His punches still look as crisp and accurate as they always have. He can still punch. Even at 170 his body punches were loud, and Jones looked bothered. They just arent as devastating as they were in the lower weights, and without that Tito is pretty helpless.
I'd say he's more hittable now too not being as active. He had decent head movement in his prime. And his stamina against these bigger guys has been a concern too.
How the hell did Trinidad lose power? he's not fighting welterweights anymore so his punches won't have the same effect. Stamnia? I cant tell, when your getting hit back your energy level isn't the same.
Gerado that was a shitty reply
He showed the same power he showed on his last fight against Winky, decent but that's it. He was punching harder through out the first three and more often, once he slowed down it was pretty much over for him.
TITO IS FIGHTING IN THE WRONG WEIGHT DIVISIONS. He shouldn't be fighting at middleweight even. He is capable of getting down to 154 if he is truley dedicated to be a champion again. Anyone who says he can't make 154 is wrong. He could make it, if he wanted to. Its all about the work and sacrifice you put in.
In his biggest strenghts, power and stamina. He boxed ok thou.
