Will this be retirement for the 3rd time again ? lol
I think Felix can still compete in the 160lb div and put on some good money fights against top ten opposition. Thoughts ?
to me i thought tito looked very soft at 170, i think he could make 154, i just dont think he wants to. tito is not a big broad physical specimen, if pavlik makes 160 at 6'2 no reason tito cant make 154 at 5'11 with his build.
fights like lacy, miranda, pavlik just dont appeal to me simply because tito is physically overmatched against all of them... he may be able to beat lacy just cause lacy is a crap boxer but who would really give him any credit for that at this point?
I Would love to see Tito continue to fight at 160 or 168. Since Trinidad was brave enough to take on a much bigger Roy at 170, maybe a bigger Jr. Middle Like Vernon Forrest or Ike Quartey can move to 160 for Felix? Ike and Tito really should have fought at welterweight, btw!!!
At 160 pounds I like the idea of Tito going after Abraham for a belt, and then going after the winner of Pavlik vs Taylor 2. Who else has a middleweight belt? Is it Sturm? Anyway...
At 168 I really like the idea of Trinidad against Jeff Lacy. A showdown with Miranda would be a dream fight of power-punchers, and a Fight with Kessler would still be pretty cool if he beats the other fighters.
If Hopkins can make 170 for Wright, I am sure he could do it again for Trinidad. The money would be big and the Garden would be Packed. I think Trinidad would get the win this time and that give Tito a measure of respect that would positively effect his legacy, despite the claims was just too old the 2nd time.
The last fighter that I really want to see Trinidad in with is Oscar. De La Hoya's body just don't carry that kind of weight to make a rematch relevant at this point because Trinidad will never make less than 160 again.
I love Trinidads enthusiasm and everything...but Id like him to get a decent win before he takes on a top guy.
honestly, he didnt look horrible against Jones. In fact, he looked quite good for the first two rounds...but Jones was still way too quick.
I would love to see him go down to 160 I dont think he can make 154 but if he could he would be a force there for sure. He still has alot of fight in him. He took some hard shots from Roy and kept coming and didnt look slow his hand speed was decent..it would be interesting to see a fit trim Tito at 160 or 154.
pavlik could knock him out but i know if felix catches him it can be a knockout win for tito as well......tito vs. pavlik or taylor would be great and hell edison miranda as well..........
if tito cant make it down to 154 he should retire. middleweight is a tough weight, pavlik and abraham would knock him out, both guys will be around for awhile and there are a lot of tough guys on their way up.
i say down to 154 to fight de la hoya or forrest or call it a day
i dont understand why people still love to hate trinidad.....he looks and goes for the biggest challenges and coming out of a 3yr layoff goes straight into a mega fight against roy jones, 2 weightclasses above his natural weight......i respect him for that and also gave it all he had in there or whats left and still looked ok enough to beat most middleweights today......as a boxing fan we need more tito's in this sport....
Yeah, it amazes me sometimes. I can't believe how someone would discredit Trinidad, a proven warrior who has faced the toughest chalenges available, over DLH, whose toughest challenge is finding a place to stack all his millions won in weak, almost fixed fights(like against Hopkins and Mayweather).
I'd like to see him go on a 5 fight tour at 160 knock out some guys and then fight when of the belt holders from 154 at a 160 or a catchweight.
he wont though

Get a final fight with DLH and retire. It's funny that some around here talk as if DLH would be too much for Trinidad now. Ha! Trinidad just went 12 with a fighter twice as strong as DLH, twice as talented, and twice as dangerous, yet some haters discredit Trinidad.
He's got two options. He can finish his career off on a high note, fighting mediocre fighters, hopefully winning, and after 3 or 4 fights, retire. Or he could do the DLH rematch, which i think is the option that would bring in more $. If he's lookin for cash, the DLH re-match is the way to go. If he lookin for wins, then he could fight some shit fighters, add some wins (possibly a KO) to his record, and retire happily. I just don't know if he's ready for DLH, he might need a tune up match or two. or three. or even four.
