What was his most dominant performance?
Did he have anything that was comparable to the following:
Mayweather-Gatti
Calzaghe-Lacy
De La Hoya-Mayorga
?
From highlights, the Richard Hall fight looks to fight the bill, but I wanted to make sure.
The Pazienza fight does not IMO.
Maybe Glen Kelly?
I'd like to know.
Bollocks.
Total Punches Jones Griffin Landed 113 141 Thrown 372 298 Pct. 30% 47%
You gotta admit though, other than that obvious fight, most of Roy's fights were completely one sided.
your even being pulled up by jc fans now!
Virgil Hill and like Runwknives said, Clinton Woods.
His fight against Toney never really impressed me the way it did some other people. That's maybe the least amount of punches I've seen a guy take en route to losing every round. They always show that clip of Jones hitting Toney while he's posing as one of the highlights of his career. It's like look Jones pw3ed Toney, yeah baby.
That's why it isn't in my complete domination fight list...
It is still pretty damn impressive that he won every single round against the P4P #2 James Toney though, who was undefeated at the time.

Really...so fellow champions Reggie Johnson Lou Del Valle, Virgil Hill, Julio Gonzalez, Clinton Woods, John Ruiz and a slew of others were soft touches?
Based on your previous post, I'm assuming you didn't watch much Jones in his prime either.
Okay... let me break this down for you.
His first hard fight (as in it was difficult for him to achieve victory) was Griffin I. He dominated the rest of his opponets up until Tarver I. Got it?
Defensive much?
I think Jones Jr.'s resume is way underrated. People say he didn't fight anyone (because he beat prospects, which is an automatic, "oh they weren't good anyway"), but some of the fighters he did beat have turned into really good fighters.
Gonzalez and Woods have become pretty big forces at 175 since he left. Ruiz was always a good heavyweight.
Hill was past this prime though.
And I think YOU are missing my point. I don't give a fuck who's career was better... at all.
I'm asking who has had the most dominant fights in history (and it had to be fights that were supposed to be competitive, or for a title or something. I'm not interested in pro debuts or something like that). I KNOW that Jones was good in his prime. He didn't lost very many rounds at all except for against Montell Griffin. His first real hard fight after Griffin I was Tarver, and then the end came. But that is not what this thread was supposed to be about.

Dwiens- don't get defensive man. how can you not lose a ROUND in years and not have dominate fights?
Because he didn't humiliate and beat his opponents up...
Mayweather-Baldomir was dominant, right? It's not what I'm looking for though.
Bollocks.

Dwiens- I think you are missing the point a little man. Jones went YEARS without even losing a ROUND. All those fighters you named are not even in the same world as a prime Roy Jones.

No Hall did nothing positive but if you think Pazienza "had his moments"....lmao.
He was battered from pillar to post and his only moment was when he managed a clean left elbow to the chin while Jones was against the ropes. he went a whole round without landing a single f*cking punch and 3 knockdowns later, ended the fight with his upper body halfway out the ring.
If you are going to make me open it and find the part I'm talking about... :nonono:
25 seconds left in round 2... Pazienza pins Jones on the ropes and lands some good shit to the body.
Commentator: "Pazienza hitting Jones more than Toney did early."
I think the better question would be which fights of Jones weren't comparible to those dominant fights. The vast majority of RJJ's fights before 2003 were that one sided from what I've seen
So I guess PBF went a round w/o ever getting hit by a punch by gatti.
and I think PBF also went a whole round without getting hit by hatton too. either the 8th or 9th. that is really impressive.
Pazienza had some moments.
I'm talking about fights were the opponent doesn't seem to get off, and Roy would be some actual damage.
Jones-Griffin II was too short for it.
What was his fight with Richard Hall like? Did Hall do anything positive, at all?

To me it is the Griffin fight. The 1st fight he might have been losing, and ws having all kinds of trouble.
The 2nd fight was just, amazing. He completely anihilated Montell in one round. Basically, Roy's statement in that fight was, "My balls are large in size."

no he was never in the fight.
Agree, apart from Griffin 1. V Richard Hall was amazing but that was the fight with steroid scandal
So Richard Hall pretty much didn't get off at all in that fight, right?
That's what I'm looking for... Thank you.
That is actually the one that I figured would be the most dominant for him, judging by how there is like 5 minutes of highlight material in that match. I have no idea how Hall stayed in the ring for 11 rounds.
