Can you people honestly tell me that you want to see Floyd run away from Oscar again?
Considering Floyd "won" last time, all the intangibles are going to be decided by Floyd.
What does this mean exactly? Well for one, and most importantly, the ring size is going to be larger than before.
Why is this important, and what does this mean exactly?
Well it means that Floyd will be allowed to stay in the center of the ring more often, will have more room to run, and will inconsequentially make the fight long and actionless.
Oscar is too smart and too tough to get knocked out, and he did an excellent job last time of taking away the angles in which Floyd could effectively land his right hand; thereby, significantly decreasing the chance of a ko, which leads me to the following question.
What person in his right mind would want to see a fight that is devoid of drama?
Fact is, they already fought, and it's likely that the same strategies will be employed. You're not going to see Oscar turn into Chavez overnight. It's just not going to happen.
So as FIGHT fans, not Floyd fans, but FIGHT fans, what is interesting about this fight?
And don't talk to me about business. This isn't about whether or not it's in Floyd's best interest to take this fight. I don't give a FUCK about the business of the sport.
That's none of my business, and honestly none of yours either. Do you ask your parent's how much money they make? I don't know about yours, but mine would tell me to STFU and probably slap my face.
I mean, does Floyd fuckin pay ya'll?
EXACTLY........which brings me to my next point.
Who should Floyd fight?
Well considering that Floyd is the Welterweight Champion of the world, he should probably fight well......MOTHER FUCKIN WELTERWEIGHTS!!!!
And who are the top two guys that not only have earned their way to the top of the welterweight division, but have the best chance of beating Floyd?
Cotto and Williams.
Not only that, but Cotto and Williams would be much more entertaining fights than "The World is Still Waiting," and it would be against WELTERWEIGHTS!
For a guy that claims to be the greatest fighter of all time, he should be willing to take on the most difficult challenges presented to him.
If Cotto is tied up, fine. Fuck it. Williams doesn't have a fight lined up and would BE MORE THAN WILLING to settle things in the ring with the current pound for pound champ.
So what is it? Are ya'll Floyd fans just scared for your boy or what?
Why the fuck do ya'll wanna see a repeat of a fight that already happened?
Don't ya'll know that sequels are usually terrible?
Actually, yes, yes it was.
I actually saw Cotto try to coast to a decision at the end.
He definately could have picked a better example, for sure.
You thought Cotto-Mosley was more exciting than Mayweather-Gatti? You cannot be serious.
YEAH DUDE! I HATE RUNNERS TOO!
MIGUEL COTTO FTW!
Especially when he really turned the aggression up in the closing rounds against Mosley. That shit was fuckin tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mosley/Cotto was alot more exciting than the beatdowns Floyd put on Hatton, Gatti, & Diego. LOL
Deevel79 is 100% right. I do not want to see a rematch of a shitty fight. Fuck, i dont want to see Floyd period. Not that he isn't the best, cause right now, he is, but he is a boring arrogant mutha fucka. I give him all the credit in the world for beating up a junior welter, but the fact of the matter is i'd rather watch a real fight, i.e. cotto/mosley, where i actually remember what fuckin sport im watchin. So in closing, fuck floyd, fuck de-la hoya, and fuck you too if you dont like what i got to say

No, the only reason people will watch a rematch of 'a glorified sparring session' (if you think it was more, then YOU dont know shit about boxing, none of them mutha fuckas put it all on the line in that match) is because boxing is dying. My favorite sport is going to shit, because of corruption and shitty champions like floyd mayweather
Boxing had its biggest year because of Floyd & Oscar fighting. Boxing is doing great! The only problem with boxing is there are too many shitty fans like you & the author of this thread.
I will puke if Floyd fights Oscar again...the first fight failed to live up to the "world awaits" hype and Floyd ran pretty much the whole fight. The rematch will be no different and Floyd will run again and win by Decision in another lackluster fight.
Im just glad that Floyd doesnt hit & hold as much as the Bitchko brothers. If you think Floyd runs & wins fight at the same time then you must know he is a genius.

Fuck you then & just think about how meaningless you are when compared to Floyd & Oscar.
the first fight was a Mega Fight
and true you have
the haters of both +fans of both + the casual fans
but subtract that from how many fans were let down by the first fight, because it didn't live up to the hype.
considering DLH/Mayweather happened last year. how many casual fans do you think will be up for it all over again .. one year later, and at a *catch weight?
*okay it could be at a Catchweight, I dunno that as a fact but still most likely it will be
what can they do to hype a fight that's already had an 11 city promotional tour + a hit TV series?
Why do yall like this kid anyway? How is he the best? His last 3 picks of opposition were questionable at best, Hatton(140lber that has proven he can't handle a small 147lber like collazo), ODLH(35 and only fights like once a year), Baldomir(sure he had a belt but, this was a mismatch to begin with).
Discrediting Hatton and DLH shows your bias an ignorance.
What so many users don't understand about Floyd fans, me in particular, is when I discuss this bout I don't tell you why I like the fight, which for the record I don't. I tell you the reason I believe the fight is being made nothing more nothing less. The REASON this fight is made is being it is a fucking mega-fight, period. Would I rather see Oscar-Cotto or Floyd-Cotto hell yes, is Floyd-Oscar happening because they are each making 20 mil HELL YES, is taht the way this sport works HELL TO THE YES.

I stopped reading when you said Floyd "ran" from Oscar.
I dont want to see Mayweather v DLH II though.
If Floyd is going to fight again it should be against Cotto.
You guys are silly as hell. First of all, I'd love to see Floyd fight Cotto just to shut some of you up, but lets be realistic... It wouldn't. No matter who he fights you're going to bitch about it. The same people who complained about the DLH fight the first time are the same people who swore up and down that Oscar won that fight and that he'd win the rematch. Now that its going to happen... you complain about that.
Another thing, some of you would like to pretend that money is not an issue in the world. How many of you would fight for $10 million instead of $20 million, ya know, for pride? None of us would. For $10 million, fuck pride. You'd all sell out quick as hell and anyone who denies that is lying to themselves.
And last, I have to laugh at you fools that complain about Floyd not fighting Williams, but brush off the fact that Cotto is fighting Gomez AFTER PW said he wanted to fight him. Stop the hypocrisy.
I am one of the biggest Cotto supporters here, but even i have made several threads/post regarding his potential matchup with Gomez. I even wrote HBO to disclose my anger about them approving this shit fight.
As far as fighting someone for 20mil as oppose to fighting someone for 10mil. Yes, it is all good for the fighter, but why are certain Floyd fans so concerned about Floyd's finances? As fans, we should want to see competitive matchups. Floyd's finances should be none of our concern. Am i wrong?

Williams is tied up, Cotto is tied up, and Cintron has a broken knuckle or something, all the champs are tied up.
Cotto and Williams will be more than ready to fight by September. Apparently Floyd will not!

Well it is fans fault for investing so much in one guy then...
One man cannot kill boxing.
To be honest, this is actually probably going to reach more of the non-mainstream audience than Mayweather-Cotto would, so it is doing something for non-fans.
For the real fans, who fucking cares if one guy is taking a bad fight? Watch other fighters! If you can't, then you aren't a real fan.
I say fuck this rematch to hell, but I'm not going to let it ruin boxing for me.
Exactly! Some people here seem to be more concerned with "whats a better buisness decision for him" As fans, why should we care?? I watch boxing to see good competitive matchups. It should be none of our concern how much money fighter A is making to fight fighter B.
Floyd made enough money from DLH and Hatton that he should be making legacy fights. Williams, then Cotto or wait for Cotto since he wants a break. And as much as I hate Spinks, he would have a better chance than DLH of beating Floyd right now.
