will miranda become a geniune force at super middleweight? i think when calzaghe retires it will be a pretty exciting division (kessler, taylor, pascal, miranda etc) i could see miranda doing pretty well in there...but so far he seems like he'll have one of those careers where he'll be burnt out way before 30...

I hope he will be. I think he'll be dangerous if not consistent.
agreed. but he is still entertaining to watch..might never be a champion but i would cough up some coin to watch him fight..
Oh yeah.... he is Good enough to beat most guys.. just not good enough to beat the best guys..
And He is ALWAYS entertaining:fing02:
I think he will have the same problems at Supermiddle he had at Middle..
That being That Any Good Boxer with some power will Get him.. he is TOO easy to hit..
The guys at SMW are naturaly bigger and And hit harder... Plus they are used to getting hit harder as result..
Miranda is not invinceable.. therefore he will go as far as a defensively inept slugger usually goes..

I approve of this post.

i think he's definately captured the imagination of a lot of fans...hes got a great story...i find myself suppourting him when i have no logical reason too...we all like guys who want nothing less than to take on the best...
I heard about his story and its great that he is making some money and living a completely better life. Beyond that though to me has done nothing for me to praise or like him as a fighter. See the bold is what I am getting at. Basically you just like the dude and I can respect that. Some people just have that effect on you.

i think miranda would finish lacy once and for all....i think a lot of miranda's appeal is he is just the definition of a hungry fighter...he always looks like he means business....i think he'll have an exciting career no matter what....
What title?
well what Title should Miranda shoot for? because the Froch/Inkin bout is scheduled March 15th and should be for the vacant WBC belt
Mundine is the WBA champion, Bute the IBF and the WBO should be vacated by Calzaghe
so Miranda should pick wisely. its been said already, but the only thing holding Pantera back is his lack of technical ability
because one can only rely on power so much.
watching several of Miranda's last fights including vs Porras, Gibbs and even vs Banks Edison has showed good timing (setting up his punches) as well as the use of a jab.
hey its not "world class technical ability" but definitely skills that can be improved on and shows that Edison is more then a crude brawler who swings for the fences.
I like pantera. I think he is exciting to watch and a great puncher. That being said he is just nottechnically sound enough to beat a kessler. I would like to see a matchup up with jt at some point.
I say Miranda can get a title but Kessler will eventually run the division and I see no way Miranda can beat Kessler other than catching him flush. I also don't see Miranda beating Bute who is world class in his own right because Bute has power and can be slick if he chooses to be. Miranda should get a belt though so time will tell once Calzaghe vacates.
I’d love to see Inkin/Miranda. Inkin has the tools to beat Miranda, his body work is sound, has a good chin and when the jab gets going, look the fuck out. But he gets dragged down to his opponent’s level all to often where he gets complacent. Inevitably, he could risks too many flush shots against Edison and of course, a KO would happen if the case.
A fight I’d love to see none the less.
kessler and bute would school miranda, i think he can stop mundine late though. the auzzie is tough but he's not the smartest fighter, he licked his contect lens and now he can only see out of one eye. if lacy still had his power, him and miranda would be a great fight
Kessler beats Miranda with both hands behind is back.
Miranda is being over rated. Just like Pavlik is. Both are walking into another loss when they up there competition. Pascal is nothing in this division. When Miranda fights Kessler or Mundine he gets destroyed. I will put all my points on it. Every single last one.
Pavlik is overrated? OOOOOOOOOOOK:twak: :crackhead
hey slotf I really love most of those fighters in you sig, although i'm extremely dissappointed in the effort Baldomir gave in his last fight
Yeah, it was rather lacklustre, especially after getting in sparring with Floyd Mayweather and not having to cut to make weight. I don't blame you for feeling that way. He has one more good performance left in him, I really think he does.
Ultimateboxa, Mundine has a really solid chin, and a fairly good defence, but Miranda can box when he wants to, and the fact that he can intimidate most of his opponents makes it look like he is really out boxing them. He has a super lengthy jab and alot of pop. I know Allan Green wasn't 100% and Eastman was old, but re-watch those fights if you haven't already. Edison can box. If those don't cut it, watch him fight Arthur Abraham. Edison is better than Mundine.
