How did you score the fight? I had it a draw, but could see it going either way. 116-111 is garbage. I honestly think that if the ref hadnt been so biased against Ngoudjo, that Herman would have won the fight. The ref warned Ngoudjo anytime he even got close to Paulie, and he never let him fight on the inside at all. Not one time. How about a warning for Paulie holding every single time Herman threw a punch? Even Al Bernstein was complaining about how rough the ref was against Ngoudjo, and how the ref never warned Paulie for all the holding he was doing. How anyone thinks Paulie is a future great is beyond me. If the ref did his job Paulie would have lost this fight.
115-113 for Herman...or at the very least a draw.
Paulie PowderPuff has no power what so ever....how is he suppose to handle a Hatton???...who will walk thru this kid and hurt him bad.
Paulie did enough to win, it wasn't very impressive but. Herman certainly landed the more telling blows. Malignaggi is about as powerful as a custard tart.
herman was pressing the action and was landing great right hands he hurt Malignaggi a few times. Malignaggi was just holding so much.... but i did have it a draw.... I do hope Malignaggi loses his next fight... I hope he fights Victor Ortiz.
I didn't score the fight round by round, but i did watch it in it's entirety (with the volume low) and honestly the fight could have been called a draw or a 1 point swing to either fighter! The official score cards were B-S & the judges should be ashamed of themselves!
EXACTLY AZTECA. If you're man landed no meaningful punches he did not win the fight. EXACTLY. I'm not handicapping the sport for people who can't punch. This isn't fencing. You have to hurt the other guy. It's not a video game where you can rack up points or something.
If Ngoudjo only landed 10 meaningful punches how many did Maliganggi land exactly? One? Two maybe?
Further, Ngoudjo hurt Malignaggi three times. Malignaggi never even came close to hurting Ngoudjo once. All his punches were thrown for form. I had it 117-112 for Ngoudjo.
He was dictating the pace for the first couple of rounds but after Ngoudjo landed a decent punch on him he seemed to lose his way for several rounds and only really recovered in fits and starts. The fight wasn't as ugly as the Castillo fight but it was a hell of a lot uglier than Paulie is used to.
I'll agree with that. We just disagree on who looked best in an ugly fight, I guess.
Meaningful by who's standards? Essentially, I could say none since he punches like an infant. In terms of how hard he punches, I can say he landed more than Ngoudjo. He also jabbed better. Used shit movement, that STILL worked well enough for him and dictated the pace to atleast stay fare between the two. All while throwing a soft, shit jab. That wins a fight for me.

Well.. since bitch-ass Showtime doesn't do CompuBox, I dont' know who landed more. But I'm guessing at the WORST, it was even. And Malignaggi threw LESS. Furthermore, Ngoudjo landed about 10 MEANINGFUL punches, and only 1 hurt him. neither was POUNDING the hell out of eachother.
If you're going to knock someone because he lacks a natural thing like power, that's up to you. I don't do that. It's boxing, not punching the other person harder. Sometimes that does win it for you, but that's not the only way to win. If you're the better technician in the ring and do the better work, display/use the better skill, you win to me. Especially if that's what it boils down to.
Was it rougher than Malignaggi likes it? Yes, but Ngoudjo would have preferred it EVEN WORSE. And didn't get that. Meaning it was about in the middle of where both would have preferred it. That makes the issue a moot point, essentially.
You're entitled to your opinion, I'm just saying.

I'm referring to both. He was throwing jabs from his wrist and landing some insulting punches and whenever he got close to Herman he would completely misjudge the distance and thus ruin his chance of scoring a good punch while at the same time getting clocked himself.
