So Im watching ESPN Classic's Replay of Ali-Liston II, and I notice Ali's style is not much different from the style that causes many on the forums here to hate Floyd. If you watch the fight, Ali is skipping around the ring, avoiding punches, and pot shotting Liston when he gets an opening. Much like Mayweather's tactics in his last few fights. No he's not standing and trading, or throwing rapid combinations, instead there was a prime Ali boxing and taking his time with the heavier puncher. What do the haters have to say about that? Yall criticize Mayweather for running, but there you have one of the greatest heavyweights of all time using similar tactics.
I was simply comparing the tactics used by Ali in his second fight with Sonny Liston, to the tactics used by Mayweather in his last few fights.
there it is. the reason one would prolly call floyd a runner is because he may have executed a much more defensive gameplan numerous times in his career. Ali did so as well but he more than initiated his share of battles which is why you'll find it hard to find someone who will call Ali a runner off of one fight.
i could care less if he call me a stan
i ain't even into ali liek that but comparing mayweather and his GREAT defense aka not enough action azz to ali's good defense with ACTION packed fight is hella gay
maybe i didn't come off clear enough. this is in no way a post comparing their accomplishments or careers I was simply comparing the tactics used by Ali in his second fight with Sonny Liston, to the tactics used by Mayweather in his last few fights.
watch it or he'll call you a stan.

viva mexico wouldnt even type that shit out.
your a stan, you still don't understand that I didn't compare the two's careers, or even their abilities, only their tactics. And I assure you Im definitely smarter than you. Your probablly not even a high school graduate.
thats the point genius, the double standard on these forums due to the hate of Floyd
the point of my posts is that even the most idiotic poster wouldnt dare make that comparison.
that "general highlight" shows things Ali has done that Floyd hasnt. As a matter of fact, if what you claimed in your original post were to be true, im sure it would be very easy for you to actually find a thread calling Ali a runner. I'm sure these "clowns" would have made one by now.

the fact that you made this assumption from watching one Ali fight only shows that you're not knowledgeable of the battles he engaged in. only a floyd nuthugger would make this thread or statement.
your logic reflects your idiocy. I didn't say Floyd is just like Ali, I said he employs several of the same tactics that Ali used in that particular fight. I was making a statement that most of the posters in this forum would say Ali was running in that one fight. And I drew a comparison from the tactics used in that fight, where Ali had to deal with a bigger puncher, to the tactics used by Floyd in fights where he had to deal with bigger punchers. Im no Floyd nuthugger I just know talent when I see it.
also, that video is a general highlight, not the specific fight i was referring to. Additionally the Foreman fight occured after Ali's layoff. Everybody who knows anything about boxing knows Ali was a much different fighter after the layoff, he no longer had that speed so instead he used his guile and boxing skills to win fights as opposed to the pre layoff fighter who was qucik and athletic

He got a first round knockout over an all-time great fighter in that fight. He didn't fight like Floyd did against De La Hoya or Baldomir.
OK the Oscar & Baldomir fights were slow on action. Those are just 2 fights of 39 pro fights that he has had. His fights with Hatton, Mitchell, Gatti, Diego & Castillo twice were all full of action most ending in KOs. If judah hadnt cheated it looked like he was getting KOd before he turned the fight into a fiasco.

im not getting emotional, Ali was dancing around and then landed a hard shot, im not saying Mayweather has the same power as Ali, but they have similar styles, how many times was Ali caught flatfooted in that video, not once. How many punches did he throw? (not many) What risk did he take in that video he stayed on the move and used his speed, so Im not making any assumption dumbass

There has always been haters every generation. The same people hating on Floyd or even Oscar to a certain extent nowadays are like the people who were hating on legends like Ali, Leonard, & Lennox back when they were doing there thing. But just like those legends Floyd & Oscar have created a legacy that will endure for years.
incredibly ignorant post and assumption.
though i wouldnt call floyd a runner, ali and floyd were much different. Ali took more risk and actually exchanged more than floyd. even their trash talking was different if you want to get specific. why do you floyd stans get so fucking emotional and start comparing him to ali just for the sake of your argument?
