Everyone keep in mind that Trinidad has only lost to slick technical boxers. Winky Wright, Bernard Hopkins, and to a lesser extent Oscar De La Hoya were the ones who gave him trouble.
Pavlik is not a slick boxer. He is a come forward guy, the type of fighter who Trinidad has looked sensational against throughout his career. This fight might be a bit more competitive than you would conventionally think.
However, because of the discrepancy in natural size, it would be very tough to pick Trinidad.
when two trucks colide, the bigger truck always win, and thats Pavlik.
Pavlik vs Trinidad now= Pavlik TKO 4
Pavlik vs Trinidad in his prime= Pavlik TKO 8.
Too much power either way and i cant see how people actually see Tito winning at any point in his career, too much of a size disadvantage. people need to seperate being a fan and using common sense. Example, im a fan of Chad Dawson but no way do i pick him to beat Wladimir Klitschko.
Now-Pavlik KO 5
Prime- Pavlik KO 10
yeahh def ..because a prime tito would be able to run for 5 more rounds b 4 he got caught lol ..168 was not a prime titos weight lol not at all
tito has no buisness at 168, Pavlick would kill him, Knock him out and knock him out bad, it would be a horrible idea and thankfully willl never happen
Trinidad a question mark until Jan. 19
Everyone needs to chill on the Tito vs. #,@, !, %
We need to see what the hell is left come Jan. 19.
He may be going to his execution, or Roy may be going to his.
It remains to be seen what Tito is going to be like as a big boy.
If he executes RJJ, then the Pavlik fight would be a fascinating possibility.
If he did beat RJJ and looked good doing it(ie. still has some speed, can take Roy's punch, and knocked Roy out) then I would say he would be my pick against Pavlick. Tito has so much experience and Pavlick is not a real good boxer. He basically just walks other fighters down like Tito does. I just think Tito does it better. But FIRST let's see what happens in 3 weeks.
I don't thing Tito will beat RJJ. His best chance is that Roy's chin is real bad and I think RJJ will be drained. Roy will have trouble if the fight goes past 8 rounds. If he really slows down with Tito and Tito is strong this is big trouble for Roy. But I think RJJ will most likely ambush Tito inside of 3-4 rounds. He's just going to unload.
for all you dumb asses who kept saying prime this prime that, I said 168 pounds, Trinidad's best weight was 147. If he's get dropped by vargas imagine what Pavlik could do if he lands?
Even though Pavlik is Taylor made for Tito at 168, I think Pavlik would just be to strong for him..but it would be a great fight for sure. I could see both men getting droped.
