mayweather has no chance of beating duran if he almost got KTFO by hatton.
huh? not only was he NOT alomost knocked out, but he was not hurt once in the entire fight. watch more fights, you sound like one of those posters who are inexperienced boxing fans because styles also make fights. even if that did happen (which it didn't) Hatton and Duran have two totally different styles so you couldnt go by that anyway. :duh:
I think Duran beat PBF at any weight. PBF is good and would be competitive againts the all time greats but I dont think he has what it takes to beat them. 1st off these guys were going 15rds. Duran/Hearns/Leonard/Hagler/Benitez were all time greats. I can see Floyd being competive with some and being destroyed by others. Those fighters back then were just at a different level.
On a side note:
I find it humerous that the people who claim that Mayweather shouldn't be compared to the likes of Leonard, Hearns, Duran, etc., are the same people who consistently make these type of polls.
Yawn.
i havent said anything about that mayweather shouldnt be put on the same league as these guys. i just want to know the onipions of people cos is interesting. i personally think that duran wins at 135, but at 147 i would choose mayweather. =P
That's irrational smart guy. If Duran could beat a prime, undefeated Ray Leonard at 147, he would most certainly beat Floyd. If Duran could lose a one point 15 rd decision to Hagler at 160, he would certainly beat Floyd there. Obviously Floyd is somewhat competitive, but what weight exactly do you think Floyd beats him?
Irrational would be calling someone irrational due to their opinion of a FANTASY fight.

It's 2:30 in the morning, and bold and italics aren't the same, smart guy.
And please point out where I stated Floyd would beat Roberto. :lame: Considering I VOTED for Duran.
I think that's a bit unfair to say.
If you think Floyd wouldn't be competitive, at any weight, you're being a tad unrational.

Judging off of their respective careers at 135, you would have to go with Duran. However, if Floyd decided to stay and fight as a lightweight during his physical prime (ages 28-30), instead of opting to move up, we would be having a very different conversation.
