Hatton's really the p4p no 1. He was all over Floyd until Mayweather got lucky with that punch. Hatton's game plan was working perfectly, Mayweather's lucky he's such an explosive puncher.
As far as Hatton goes, he's an amazing fighter, and he's very likeable. However, Mayweather is THE best P4P in the world. Hatton's fought at 140 for years, and Floyd spent several years at 130, so how is Floyd that much bigger than Ricky? Neither man is a natural welterweight, so that argument is wack. Just get over it. Mayweather is the best fighter in the world, until someone proves otherwise. Hatton's an excellent fighter, but he's not even the best in the UK.
That and Ricky is coming down from 170lbs or more. After weigh-ins there's no doubt he's the bigger fighter.
Just so everyone knows - I was kidding. I predicted Mayweather would win. Hatton actually did better than I thought he would and I only game him three rounds.
.................
Why is the #1 p4p fighter, "lucky", as opposed to just blessed with talent and skill that basically no one can compare to? Anyone who fights him just about will look like a "hype job". The old Roy Jones sybdrome.
"They got the nerve to say I ain't fight nobody, I just make em look like nobody"
neverr thought is say this but.,..
preach sonofisis!!!!!!
Floyd is jst lucky that ricky has less skill, and was a hype job :D good bye x

i know it seems biased to me being he is my fav fighter... i dont take the win away from tarver he absolutely desvered it... i also understand the no such thing as a lucky punch... but....
tarvers head was down and he was staring at the canvas when he landed the punch... he wasnt even looking... to me.. THAT IS.. a lucky punch
i got in on video... the top of tarvers head was pointed at roy he wasnt even looking
Nah, man. It wasn't lucky. It was perfect. That's something you hear a lot... a "lucky" punch. More times than not, what someone refers to as a "lucky" punch is actually a perfect punch. I can't stand Tarver, and I'm a fan of Roy's, but it was a perfectly timed and placed shot.
hmm so is "RAY" lucky when he plays the piano, cuz he's blind.
Is it "luck"? or skill? :cop: true Tarver may have flinch, but he knew where he was throwing the punch, he just didnt have his eyes closed the whole time winging shots.
I was calling you blind by the way.
I would definately say luck at that point.
I personally thought Tarver got the better of all three fights though, but he dicked away 7 rounds in the first fight, so Jones deserved the decision, but Tarver fucked him up in the 5 he won.
floyds just lucky that hatton isnt a real welter-weight
i hate when ppl come up with comments like this . its like saying " if paulie malinaggi had tyson power he would be #1 p4p "
yah well guess what HE DOESNT FUCKIN HAVE TYSON POWER DOES HE ?
get it ? if your aunt had balls shed be ur uncle, still dont get it ?
take your own advise. it was a perfectly timed punched. right on point. :cop:
Was he looking?
If Tiger Woods putts without looking at the hole beforehand with his eyes closed, does that mean he measured out the perfect putt, or was it a lucky shot?
There is no such thing as a lucky punch. Just because your boy was on the receiving end doesn't change this. I am curious to know what you found lucky about that punch. I've only seen the fight once, but I remember it being a pretty deliberate shot by Tarver (as opposed to some involuntary muscle spasm). Roy no longer had the athleticism to make up for his attrocious defense so he got caught flush and hit the dirt. Nothing lucky about it.
That is the true definition of a lucky punch you really do need to rewatch the fight. First off Tarver wasn't even looking at what he was throwing at. Second Roy had his glove up to block the punch only thing was that where the punch landed Roy's glove wasn't protecting. So Roy saw and knew what punch was coming just bad placement of the glove to block the punch. We all know what happened after that.

:lol1: This is why I love boxingscene. Not because of the infallible boxing knowledge of its posters and their deep insight/vast intellect, but because of amusing ass hats like this! It makes my day (at least on here) every time.:)

Actually Floyd's plan was working and he set Hatton up for that shot for several rounds before it actually landed......Nice effort by Hatton though.
Well said, although Hatton seemed to be more successful then any other fighter in recent history against Mayweather(I have alot of respect for Hatton's performance), Mayweather knew what he was doing and never seemed to be at a lose.
