De La Hoya has ALOT of people under his payroll. Sure he made the most ever in boxing History (PPV), and has endorsements here and there, but it's hard to determine an exact worth since his company (EAST and WEST GBP) is subject to HUGE tax deductions (like MILLIONS!)
when you hear a set number, like he made 30 million for a fight....that is a "GROSS" income. Then comes the breaking down.....EVERYBODY gets paid!!
Lawyers, Promoters, Trainers, Ref, Judges, Ring announcer, Cut Man, Gym use, Sparring crew, Security, Equipment, Transportation, Hotels, State Taxes.....and the stickiest fingers of them all...The Gov! That 30 Million has quickly become 12.
Jay is widely considered in the top 5 greatest rappers of all time.
De La Hoya (who has lost every big fight he has been in) shouldn't even be in the top 50 boxers ever.
Oscar is known for being a boxer, a promoter and dressing up as women.
Jay z is a hip hop artist, CEO of one of the biggest/best selling record labels in hip hop, he owns restuaraunts, clothing lines, night clubs and a number of other things.
But the thing is, you can get away with being average in music, you cannot do that in athletics. That's the great-sad thing about this part of entertainment. Great for the person involved, great if it helps entertain whoever needs it for relief or whatever, but sad for those that have more talent.
Have you ever read some of these "artists" lyrics?
It's not all great and it is subjective.
It can be a good thing, if "average" people can make a great living, it leaves hope for others...the "American Dream."
I'm thinking there may be some sort of "balance" in nature that is allowed...to keep people wanting to stay awake...plus there must be some use for what seems somewhat like madness.
So I can be happy for his success, others as well, although still not quite sure about everything.

And Jay's past is picture-perfect?
All people have their problems, and it's not fact those pictures were real

Money + Popularity can = success at business if done right with the right people around you.
It's not the same as taking punches from other elite fighters.
But Jay does have some talent, I don't doubt that.
Although more talented than Jay.

What does that have to do with boxing again? Or DLH? Are they buddies? If not adding Jay-Z in the mix is out of no where. Thats like saying. How much is Donald Trump worth? Then you say." Well not more then Bill Gates" What the fuck is the point of that?
It was completely out of nowhere. I tend to think people assume DLH has far more money than he actually does have.
Nowhere near as much $$$ as Jay Z.

He was on an ESPN interview before the Mayweather fight and he said his net worth was 100million. :lol1: = at 300 million. He's not near Tyson numbers consistant yet.Even with being a promoter.
no wonder his wife wont leave him even though he cheats on her. she's waiting for the right time to break out. letting him bring in more cash.
Millie is fine enough to grow old with, shes a keeper unless some really fine broad comes along, but then he'd lose half his money.
The guy has his money ever where, and even though it doesn't get mentioned enough he does help out his old community and help a lot of people out. Last i heard he was developing low income homes for people that don't make a lot of money can become home owners.
I'm pretty sure that HBO once said that he has made over $500 million in PPV revenue alone. Maybe that doesn't mean that he collected all of that though.
I don't know.
