No Doubt That "Check" Hook was sweet Punch....
Perfectly timed..And Right on the Money..
However... After Hatton ate it.. he hit his head neck down on the turnbuckle..
Got up at the count of 8.. and immediately went on the Attack...
After 2 big hits (the Hook and the Post) He was still there..
However he then ate a Right hand.. That put him on queer street..
Not as Pretty as the check hook... But being 2 hits after the check.. the REAL KO punch...
Sorry if that burts anyone's Bubble... But hatton Did not get KO'd by the check Hook.. He got KO'd by a dandy Straight right...
The check Hook KO.. is a Myth that needs to be stopped now.. It was a Knock down punch.. And a beauty.. BUT it was not the KO punch..
NO you're wrong. The check hook knocked him out...the one two punch made the referee stop the fight and the corner throw in the towel...the check hook is what got the job done, the referee could've smacked him twice and he would've been out again.
No, technically it did not, "KO" him.
You guys are not arguing facts, you guys are arguing the meaning of the term "Knocked Out". Welter is using it in a technical sense, while you're obviously not.
There. End of thread.
never said That.. I said the check was not the KO punch... read the thread mate..
The check hook didnt KO Hatton...
This entire time I have been saying that the check hook led to the knockout, and you were saying this was not true.
Read the posts, mate.
It doesn't matter, Hatton was dead tired. That weak ass hook hit em and he just kept going, and going, and going, straight into the ring post lol. It might aswell of KO'ed em.
Weak ass left hook?
Get a clue, kid.

So then you agree that it did lead to the official "KO punch".
That's what anyone who has actually seen the fight is saying, and for someone to say otherwise obviously hasn't seen the fight, so I really don't know why you're still arguing. Or what you were trying to prove.
I've never seen someone get so bent out of shape over semantics before.
He would have had a better chance, for sure. But since it was so early in the round and there was no chance of clinching, I doubt it.
I don't know man, he made it through the 8th.
Its difficult to know. I've played contact sports and know how disorientating it is to get a double hit.
If you get hit once you can focus on that and your body focuses on that but a double hit can really send you into a talespin and you're like wtf?
Thats not what your saying, you said that the check hook did NOT lead to the knockout.

Yeah Thats All I am saying.. and there are 10 pages of people in denial..

Yeah, the C-hook was only the 'stunner'.
When Ricky hit the floor, his eyes were not glazed over, and he was still conscious before he got up.
He wasn't all there, though. :boxing:

I agree. And I'll leave the turnbuckle argument at that.
He was going down anyway. That's why he hit the post.
Question: Do you think that he would have made it out of the round if he had went down and got up the first time w/o hitting the ring post?

It was the second left hok he landed that rocked him back to the ropes.
And nobody should downplay the ring post. It did have some effect. Beautiful punch though, the check left...

Floyd Boiz..:nonono:
Pure stubborness.. pure denial.. What can ya say eh?
Im pretty sure YOU are the one claiming the punch that Floyd knocked Hatton down with and put him in queer street didnt lead to the knockout.:lol1: :lol1:
the check hook jus started the KOing process. no one thought he was comin out alive after that, not even ricky himself. if the turnbuckle wasnt there, he woulda went down face first onto the canvas. plus that turnbuckle is padded, so i wouldnt say that forced him to fall over, it jus bounced him back in the other direction...
