An actual list for those who know what they're talking about.
Honorable Mentions that I couldn't fit; Joe Louis, Jimmy Wilde, Ray Leonard, Stanley Ketchel, Eder Jofre, and other great fighters,
If voting other, please post.
Duran is a natural LW,
He was as much of a natural light weight as Mayweather is now. Once you move up, people don't really seem to judge on terms of where you started fighting or had most of your fights at.
for him to even be up there fighting a Hagler is unprecedented, especially how well he did.
But I do agree with this.
This is a P4P list, and P4P, Duran being smaller than any of them, was just as impressive for his size(if not moreso) and can be forgiven for losing to much bigger fighters.
I don't know. Standing head to head, physically did Duran really look smaller than SRL to you? It goes with out saying that Hagler and Hearns are huge. It was a huge accomplishment for Leonard to actually BEAT Hagler, let alone fight him and lose.
He was actually at his best at LW, by far.
I wouldn't disagree.:)
But Duran went on to lose to Hearns and Hagler while SRL beat them. Also, Leonard is 2-1 against Duran, not 1-1..

I guess you missed the first fight. 1-1 against each other does not put one above the other, you have to look at their other accomplishments and opposition. I think Duran gets the nod because of a much longer career.
Yep. Leonard beat him twice but the third fight was long after the first 2, so that fight can make things difficult to judge. But Duran also moved up in weight to fight Leonard and beat him; in Ray's prime no less. The second fight has a huge question mark over it but its a victory for Leonard regardless.
I would've put Leonard on it but I don't often see people pick him as the #1 greatest and plus I ran out of room. So he got the H.M.

Leonard is actually 2-1 against Duran. Leonard's top wins also outdo Duran's, but Duran's weight versatility and longevity also may give him the slight edge in my books as well.
Its all argumentive will never know bullshit , same debate in all sports and same arguments follow , would have , could have , what if .
Good copout from someone that doesn't know anything about boxing history.
That list sucks...if you put Duran in there you gotta put the man that beat him

Most are ATG in their respective divisions, but SRR will always stand out.
And thank the good lord Floyd Mayweather isn't on that list, cause he's no where close yet
This isn't really a top 10 list, at least not in order, but a list of containing someone who most people would pick to be the pound for pound best fighter of all time.

I'm going with the consensus view, in Robinson..
This is easy - Ray Robinson. The original Sugar. 202 fights and 175 wins? Come on. Guys are calling 50 fights a great career now. While not undefeated, a win percentage of 87% is damn impressive over that long of a career. RR is the man. Period.
Throw in the fact that in his prime he was 128-1-2, and 15 of his losses came after the age of 35, and I tend to agree. Though based on resume alone, Greb has him beat. But the fact that Greb has no fight footage kinda fucks him over.

That is an excellent list he has. But my vote stays the same, Robinson by a nose over Greb.
And allow me to just say I love the inclusion of Ezzard Charles, tremedously underrated, easily one of the very best resumes in the history of the sport.
