Could you imagine a Mayweather/Cotto 24/7???

Mayweather's the star of the show. Whoever else is with him is pointless. Oscar has a terrible personality, but yet is still popular. Hatton's got a great one and it added a lot of value to the show. Maybe Cotto isn't Hatton, but he's PERFECT fodder for Mayweather. Mayweather's a talkative, engaging personality while Miguel is straight-laced and quiet. But you know what? That's a great story to tell. Opposite ends of the spectrum yet they are the two best welterweights in the world. You can sell it like that plus sell it as the toughest challenge of Mayweather's career. And for the idiots who don't think a fight with Cotto will draw, you're all clueless. Hatton has never been on PPV before and is virtually unknown to the American fan. Yet, him and Floyd probably did a million. Cotto's actually a much more known figure and has had mild success on PPV. And once again, Floyd's the draw here. Whoever you pair him up with for now on, it'll draw big.

IT would be whack as hell...Cotto has no social skills ...and he just doesn't seem interesting at all...even when people ask him , who he would like to fight ... he doesn't say nothing ... "Talk to BOB" ... he is not going to make any money man...this dude is boring... 24/7 with cotto involved ....would = BORING ... floyd aint going to trade with Cotto ... he would box him and pop shot him all night ... Cotto vs mosley was a draw ... (you have your opinion and I have mine) ... but look at it like this ....I think Cotto will get knocked out by delahoya, margarito, or decisioned by williams ...so cotto will not even be someone we will mention again ... you need personalities for that show to work. B Hops/Calzaghe would be good. It would be good to see what kind of training Calz actually does since his hands are so fragile.

Believe me, Mayweather knows this fight won't sell. Cotto is a tougher opponent than Hatton and a better fighter, but his social skills are unbearably bad. He needs to keep KOing people and getting meaner in his postfight interviews if he wants this fight. Nobody would watch that 24/7 and I'm a fan of both guys. I cant believe Mayweathers fans actually defend his decision to retire. he is BLATANTLY ducking Cotto and its SOOO obvious. If Mayweather was a great fighter, or even a great champion, he would fight Cotto cause its the best fight out there for Boxing and for his Legacy. I could understand if he said, "im gonna let Cotto get bigger before i fight him." but he just says fuck all that, i want no part of cotto, im retiring cause its the easiest way out. theres really no denying that all of that is true, and ur only gonna call me an idiot cause ur in love with Mayweather.

Cotto has this Stoney Cold look on his face at all times. The guy is a brute, all action. He loves boxing, and shows his passion for the sport in the ring. On the other hand you have a guy like Mayweather, who says over and over how bored he is with boxing and how he doesnt love the sport anymore... But hes a good talker kinda. This fight would definetly sell if Cotto beats DLH, which will probably happen on MAY 3rd

Cotto just cant speak english well, so he cant say what he wants to say a lot of the time. 24/7 for that fight would be good cause they would make it good, and the fight would more then live up to the hype

LOL, at posters here saying how boring Cotto would be in a 24/7 show. The producers of the show would do there job just as they have been doing and they would make sure it is entertaining, they don't get paid to make a fighter seem boring.

I've only been able to get into a few of the 24/7's Mayorga v Vargas,De la Hoya v PBFMM but i'm more into the parts about how they grew up and the info on their amature careers more the the trash talking part. I don't think a Coto one would be as good as some of the others becuase as said he's not a big trash talker but it would still be cool to see.

And yes, social skills DO matter because look how many idiots thought Hatton had a chance based on his "tough Brit" attitude. That sure got him far, didn't it? :ugh: People who had never seen Hatton fight were telling me he was exciting and a tough fighter who would give Mayweather hell. This thread ain't whack. I happen to agree with u 100%. Cotto has no fucking personality. I don't even know who the fuck he is!!! Everything is ask Bob! Atleast Tito talked and had a personality and spoke for himself. But this dude Cotto is like some weirdo. HBO would have to get Tito to be a sparring partner or SOMETHING to spark the interest on Cotto's side. And the Floyd side, as great as he is, would be same ol' same ol' for a lot of viewers, espcially the ones that don't like him as it is.

Mayweather cannot possibly reason fighting Mosley and not Cotto unless Cotto gets beat, and he will still catch alot of flak for facing another 35+ yr old past his best. If Cotto gets beat, be it by Margarito or Williams or Cintron, the pressure should be on Floyd to fight whoever beats Cotto.
