Joking aside I'd like to see a little more maturity in posting. There's an awful lot of gloating which just isn't pretty, and some of the insults are infantile and depressing.
There's quite a few people with whom I've had plenty of disagreements who use this site to discuss boxing. We argue and we bitch and we debate and we argue some more. And this is great. But at the same time there's a large minority of posters who seem to use this site to be cheerleaders and bitches and that's kinda crap. Then there's an even smaller minority who seem to use the forum as a means of purely getting people's backs up, and that's extremely bizarre behaviour. You know who you are. Get a hobby. Try and date girls.
Anyway props to those who have taken defeat and particularly victory with grace becoming of decent human beings.
Also Ricky wins a pie eating contest.
Hatton fought like a champion, and there is absolutely no shame to losing to the best fighter in the world.
I was rooting for him, and at first felt really disappointed after the fight, and really dogged him on the forums afterwards. But re-watching it, he put on a hell of a fight and showed a lot of heart.
I think the ref affected the fight to a small degree in the beginning (not that I think it would have changed the overall outcome), and Mayweather did an incredible job of adapting to his style and responding (even if his tactics were a little dirty).
Yeah he got caught a few tmes, but there was a marked difference between the frequency with which he got caught with clean shots in the first six rounds and in the last four.
Yeah, the point deduction definitely affected him. At one point he looked like he half wanted to quit, half wanted to moon the ref.
To all the clowns that need to belittle and bash Ricky, was it an entertaining fight? Was it more entertaining than the Oscar fight? I sure think so. Did Ricky show heart after getting hit with a killer left hook and doing a face plant into the turnbuckle? How can you say he didn't? He got back up and took quite a bit more punishment before his legs gave out.
Anyway, I thought Floyd showed a lot of class after the fight, and Ricky pissed me off a bit. Rick could have complained about the ref if he lost a decision, but he should have given Floyd more credit for knocking him out.
Be nice to see Hatton go back to 140, where he's better suited, and win a few more fights before retiring. But after 20 million bucks in this fight alone, he can do whatever the hell he wants. No shame in 3 time, 2 division champ and only loss being to the best fighter in the world.
I thought fatigue was the biggest factor in that.
And who can say for sure? Maybe it was fatigue but he looked angry after that point, and after the eighth he looked a little desperate. In the tenth he went up a gear so I don't think it was fatigue but then again who can really say?

I'd disagree, I'd say those shots weren't clean until the seventh.
Really? I swore one of those very same punches cut his eye in the early rounds.
I need to rewatch the fight again, but I thought he caught Hatton charging in quite a few times throughout the fight.
Mayweather was landing those punches, and Hatton was charging in like that since the second round...
He almost dropped Hatton in the middle rounds with it, but Hatton grabbed onto Mayweather for dear life.

YOU KNOW , you seem like a really nice person.

8th round, I think.
It was a wicked hook though wasn't it?
In theory if Cortez had let the fight evolve from the beginning Mayweather may not have thrown that hook, and Hatton may not have rushed in with his hands down, but all this is obviously pure conjecture.

Other than the second round (I believe that is when he called 3 time outs, correct?), the refereeing wasn't too bad.

I mean we know who won the fight, so all this debate is superfluous. But I'm a fan of Manchester City, I've been dwelling on "what if" for my whole life!
Yup- the hook makes the arguments futile.
Squeal ur response comes from the losing side........
if hatton had won ........
what does that great brain of urs tell u would have happened in the forums...
hatton got knocked the fuck outtttttttttttttt....
deal with it...............
or do u wanna bring up tzou and castillo again and how hattons only 2 legitimate fights in a 44 fight carrer would be enough to step onto a world stage.........
back to his backyard for hatton where its safe for him to win.........
I'm sorry I have absolutely no idea what you're on about.

Did Cortez deflect that left hook?

True beatin Hatton in your backyard with ref, judges on your side is easy. In manchester it would be harder. There is a thin line between victory and defeat. The ref allowing Hatton to work and the pressure PBF being scared of the judges would tip the balance to Hatton.
SO PBF not as good as Ali, SRR and Pep etc. Still great though PBF, but needs to travel to impress. Too much protection from refs.

If you think that Mayweather would lose a 175lb beer drinking contest (no matter the location), then you know nothing about boxing.
Just kidding, man. Cheers.
Are you suggesting the Hatton fans wouldn't be even worse than the Floyd fans are?
Hell I don't even think they're being that bad, save a few retards who can barely spell even the most simple words.
I can only speak for myself.
I agree, but that was trolling rather than fandom, and trolling has been going on both ways. I mean I want to discuss boxing here, not pander to some sadcase's insecurities.
I tried to ignore the worst excesses of both sides.
Obviously, but BoxingScene is filled with haters, nughuggers and fairweather fans.
Thats just the way it is, and I dont think it will change anytime soon.
