score cards were bad, and every clinch was blamed on mayweather by the crew. Manny even made it seem like mayweather was being outclassed in the early rounds.
teddy atlas just talked about his scoreing and he had it like the judges.
I have never seen them try to discredit a fighter like they did floyd.
Manny said he hasnt seen floyd do this bad in the early rounds, After the Knockdown he says its floyds best performance in his carrere
Yeah, but that's really no fault of his.
You have to understand that it's the fighter's responsibility to find himself the kind of trainer that matches his strenghts as a fighter.
Manny is somewhat of an offensive specialist, so for Taylor to hire Manny to teach him how to go backwards with his arm by his dick is nothing short of stupid.
Manny teaches the art of standing tall, making use of the jab and height and controlling the fight with a measured approach.
Perfect for Lennox Lewis.
Could have been good for Taylor's body type, but not his mindset on how to fight.
Simply put, you don't hire a mechanic to do the electricity in your house.
(I'd like to point out that this is a raw example of a point I'm trying to make. I don't know how Manny operates as I've never met him, so take it with a pinch of salt)
totally understand what you mean. i just hate the fact that he makes it seem that he knows everything and nothing surprises him. I know he just does his job for the money,
but maybe he should say "hey the style i teach isnt fitting you, we can keep working or i can try to change what made you"
its funny he notices all this shit, but his stock as a trainer has been slowly been going down

You can always discredit a fighter and all his skills and flaws. Floyd too.
He doesn't consistently use his jab to set up anything, he leaps in with lead rights and left hooks, he keeps his chin high when he punches etc.
But what does it matter when it's the results that counts?
As a great trainer, Manny will always be able to find errors in any fighter, but he should learn to balance his analysis with something positive too. Only then will he become someone worth listening too.

Manny has been discrediting floyd for a LOOOONG time now. And its completely unwarranted and completely out of line if u ask me

Merchant is something else. Around the 9th round of the Lacy-Manfredo fight he says that he hasn't been paying attention to the fight. Then at the end of the fight he says that he thinks Manfredo won more rounds. Uh, how would you know if you didn't pay attention to the fight? I'm starting to think he doesn't like Black fighters.
did you see de la hoya going nutz when cortez broke them apart in the second, im a big oscar fan but he needs to sit his ass down
No, didn't see it. Watched it on skysport I think, with british commentators.
They were all over Hatton in the first 5 rounds, then gradually began to give Floyd props when he started dominating.
Imagine Hatton-DLH build-up.. Would be boring as hell.
Isnt the job of an announcer to report the fight and try to make the watcher intrested even if the fight is not that great?? They just sat there and talked about how bored they were.
i forgot exact quote but jim kind of admitted he wasnt watching rounds
Yeah, the HBO team was absolutely terrible tonight. There was NO excitement from them leading up to, and during, the knockout. They all WANTED Hatton to win and didn't hide that fact.
Hypocrites then. Didn't listen to HBO commentators, so I don't know what they said.
But Mayweather always seemed calm, collected and never in danger, the first rounds included.
I wanted Hatton to win, but I had to smile in the second round when I realized Mayweather was just zooming in to find his comfort zone and timing.
Pure master boxer that man.
