I feel sorry for Manfredo

i dont feel bad at all for fredo! i hope he gets smashed to bits so i never have to see him or his butt buddy hype job mora. bunch of clowns! trash! Mora is crap... but try to give Manfredo some credit.. Not at a world class level.. but still can contend..

I have no idea what she was saying, some kind of warped encouragement. To be fair if you were a boxer wouldn't you just want your girlfriend to just sit quietly by the side of the ring worrying about you,might be slightly sexist. Put it this way.. if manfredo comes out like he did in his last 3 fights.. he dont have alot of hope.. But the 3 fights that he had roach training him and wokring his corner he was a whole different fighter.. He may not necasarily win, but I truly think this will be a better fight than yall think.. Still picking him to win.. but to get screwed on the cards..

I agree with this, I just think Lacy's corner was so shellshocked their brains fell out of their arses. No if's no buts the yliterally thought Calzaghe was not only shit but that he was also shot. The only guy who showed a semblance of wanting the fight to be stopped was Gary Shaw, even his gf was screaming at him like a stupid little bitch. Without a doubt. They were expecting Lacy to walk through the hype job European fighter with 20 title defenses like it was a Sunday stroll. Next thing they realise is he's getting the beating of his life. This is what I can't understand though...After six rounds I can certainly understand them thinking he might still get a KO from behind but after that Calz just got stronger and stronger while Lacy wilted and was hesitant in throwing punches and even when he did he was very timid with them expecting to be countered viciously. At this point someone, anyone, should have stepped in and stopped it. Corners should be accountable to some kind of review board if they let a fighter take a serious beating after it's obvious he can't do anything and they let it go on too long. Just on a side note...someone earlier in the thread said Lacy was real tough and took his beating like a man against Calz without quitting. What the hell was manly about that?! His corner should of stopped it WAY before the twelfth round. If they had he would not be in the shit mental state he is in. He took way too much punishment when he didn't need to. It was obvious he was not going to get the KO after seven or eight rounds and they should have stopped it so he could stay fit and healthy for future work. Instead they may have just ruined the future career of another great prospect. I really hate this "Take your beating like a man" shit. Its so fucked up. This ain't some Neanderthal fight game shit. These guys are serious athletes who need top mental and physical conditioning to compete. One or two beatdowns like he took take every ounce of that away. It's unhealthy. ieve never seen anything from manfredo which makes me think he can win this. He's a decent boxer, in a global sense. As in, if you take the entire population of the earth, he'll be in top few percent. BUt that dont mean shit when he fights lacy.

with roach in corner im picking manfredo to get the upset.. Gona be hard to convince the judges tho if you ask me.. since tarver vs lacy plans are already on the go...

if lacy is a hype job then i don't know what that makes manfredo... truth be told theyre both hype jobs- but lacy has shown real power before. and manfredo can be hit.

Is Manfredo back with Freddy Roach? If he is he might pull an upset. I rate them about even though. Lacy is very strong, but kind of slow and one dimensional, him fighting Tarver would be a good match for them both but not a very exciting one if you ask me. Manfredo still has a lot to learn and has jumped up from LMW way too fast, but if he sticks with Roach I think he'll manage to be a solid top 10 fighter.

To those who say it was a premature stoppage vs Calzaghe I ask simply whether the referee should allow a fight to continue when the opponent simply doesn't fire back. Manfredo was out of his depth, knew it and tried to protect what he had .... which isn't much really. If Lacy is even 10% what he was BC (before Calzaghe) then he'll annihilate this fool. It's ironic of course that after Lacy, Calzaghe fought this unknown Cameroonian called Sakio Bika and earned a tough but ugly win against someone who people called a substandard opponent. Now Bika is hot shit in the SMW division and is rated higher than Lacy by many.

for those that rate Manfredo highly .. what do you see in him seriously? he lasted 3 rounds vs Calzaghe ... controversial stoppage aside I've seen Manfredo's last 3 fights, including the Calzaghe one and he really hasn't shown me anything .. in fact he got hit way too much in a UD victory over David Banks look past Manfredo's 28-4 record . .what do you see? an uninspired UD over David Banks .. where Manfredo's eye got puffed up and he looked like shit a 9th round TKO over Ted Muller .. an opponent who was tough, but really didn't bring much else to the table and of course vs Calzaghe where he flaked out and got "screwed" sure Manfredo has a good record .. but he isn't very good, and unless Lacy re injures his shoulder Lacy should get the kayo ya'll can defend Manfredo all you want, but I personally don't see much in Manfredo Jr and stand by this statement whole heartedly "I don't rate Manfredo at all." .. again what do you guys see in Peter?

i think lacy will stop him in the early or middle rounds. unlike the calzaghe stoppage i don't think manfredo will be complaining when he's counted out, if he's even awake. this is a good fight for jeff and i'm glad he's getting a chance to get back in the picture a bit

Lacy is thickset and durable, I can't see him being stopped. It is those kind of fighters who suffer in the long term.

Lacy was NEVER considered a mini Tyson.. he was by Gary Shaw,lol. Something about him having the power of tyson with the heart of holyfield. He's not too far wrong about the heart, Lacy is all heart. He breaks Manfredo in half by the way. Manfredo is not on his level.

After the beatings Calzaghe and Tsypko put on Lacy, I wouldn't be surprised if Manfredo pulled this one out of the bag. I hear Lacy's had a few generous decisions in the past though, and Manfredo isn't likely to stop him.
