Sergei Lyakhovich vs Nicolay Valuev

Valuev coming on in the mid late rounds to stop Lyakhovich late if both come to fight, & I think they will. Lyakhovich is a very good fighter when he wants to be, but has stamina issues & tendendcy to loosen his guard. Think that Valuev's steadiness & workrate will get him through some rough rounds, & he'll wear down Lyakhovich late.

Lyakhovich is gonna prove you wrong, he is not overrated, people think he is a bum and a fraud now because Briggs fluked out and got a last second KO, Sergei was winning the fight on the scorecards before he got stopped. Lyakhovich was also sick and fatigued coming into the Briggs fight, his stamina was clearly the shits and his handspeed wasn't there. I dont think he's a bum by any means. he's a pretty good fighter but nothing beyond that. he's extremely vulnerable to good punchers. even brew had him down and just about out but he wasnt in good enough shape to finish the job. they need to be careful of who they match him with. wlad or even chageav,,,virchis,,,and several others would put him to sleep

Sergei by UD......Valuev is an overrated Giant....little more.God I'd love to see him fight Peter or Klit someone with some real power that could KO the big fucker.I'll tell you what just if Barrett had a little more pop he would have stopped him.....he was landing huge haymakers.

This WBA eliminator is all set to take place on Jan.19. It's an intriguing matchup and Sergei has a chance to redeem himself. I am taking Lyakhovich by UD, his handspeed will be too much for the slow plodding Valuev. Lyakhovich is very underrated, he has great footwork for a big man and a shotgun jab. A motivated,healthy Lyakhovich can give anyone trouble. valuev klitschko is intriguing...im really not up for a valuev chagaev rematch...anyway skelton will be the guy to beat when he unifies the division....

I could be wrong but I just don’t see this fight as being anything other than a closely fought ‘borefest.’ Both fighters in recent outings seem to fight tentatively by throwing too few punches, avoiding dangerous exchanges, and no going for the KO… If you want an exciting title eliminator, be sure to watch Povetkin and Chambers also in January and on HBO!...

I agrre with you. Povetkin, Lyakhovic, Chambers, Wlad....not bad in HS division. Yea division is getting better. One of these days all these undefeated 30-0 American guys has to grab their balls and fight someone who is rated under forty in the division.

I don't think there is a human on this planet who can do that. I've seen a lot of Valuev's fights, probably about 15. I've seen him taking all-out shots on the chin and not even blink. McCline, who knocked the shit out of Peter with an uppercut, was pummeling Valuev for 2 rounds and Valuev didn't even blink. I tell you, the only way you can defeat him is on points. His skull is from the pre-historic times, it was designed to withstand a tree trunk falling down on you. Valuev does kinda look like a neanderthal. I hope Lyakovich wins, because him and Chagaev would be more entertaining than a Valuev rematch.
