does anyone think the 2 inches in height and the
7 inches in reach will affect hatton a lil more than everyone is saying.
I mean He'd have to be slipping really fast from the outside to evade mayweather's quick punches.
Hatton trains hard... but that would be alot of weaving to get to the inside ... and oh yea he would have to not get stopped in his tracks by a right hand or anything.
I just started thinking that the REACH might be too much for hatton.. grouped with the little height.
THOUGHTS?
Speed and reach. Man...that's tough to beat. Especially since Floyd will use his feet to move away from the bullying tactics of Hatton. should he get close, Floyd will tie him up and wait for the ref to break.
Mosley had the speed and reach advantage against Cotto. We'll see how it plays out this Sat.
Hatton Will knock out floyd in 7, floyd is american, which means he has to lose, also the reach advantage doesnt mean anything, ricky will walk through all of floyds shots because boxing is an easy sport and thats the way it works.
And besides, Hatton is much faster than people think, probably faster than roy jones jr in his prime, he will kill mayweather with his speed and power.
You americans are all mouth, cant wait for hatton to knock mayweather out and after that David Haye is gonna clean up at heavyweight because he has more natural skill than Cassius Clay ever had.
come'on ricky, do it for the Manchester chavs on Jobseekers allowance.
Hatton's a left handed fighter, man.
What that means is that his game all centers around the left hand. basically the left hook.
He fell into Collazo's trap and couldn't see the right uppercut or hook coming. And since he always feints the the left he got cracked with it every single time.
Fighting mayweather is a hell of a lot different then fighting Collazo.
Collazo & Mayweather aren't that different even though he's a south-paw. Both are young/slick fighters with good defense, speed, & technical skill with Mayweather being superior. It gave us a guage as to how he would react to that kind of style. And it was Collazo jab that setup the big punches. Hatton was having major problems midway through the fight because of it.
I dont doubt Mayweather having some sort of power to put someone away for a TKO, but that reach won't matter if Hatton's chin simply walks through those punches of his.
If I was Hatton i'd be more worried about Mayweather's footwork since he'll end up using his back foot to get away from Hatton whenever Hatton is near enough to get some punches in..
I've talked about this point a few months ago said said very similar things as the thread starter. But to me it all boils down to how Mayweather fights. If he jabs like he did against DLH, Hatton will have a very long night. With PBF's reach, speed, & skill Hatton is gonna have a helluva time closing the gap. The only other fighter to consistently/effectively lay a jab on Hatton was Collazo. Hatton was looked lost from midway till the end of the fight because he couldn't get past the jab & straight lefts that followed. I thought during that fight that if that was Collazo could do that, Mayweather being more skilled could do the same & make him look bad.
Hatton is short and stocky almost everyone he has fought had longer arms. Look at dorin spatafora for comparison dorin took the fight to spady with a way shorter reach
your forgetting the level of skill....
i mean do you understand... Floyd has been in the ring with much better fighters than hatton.
Hatton has been in the ring with nothing of the sort but castillo and ZU.
Corralles, Oscar, Both Hernandez...Judah.. Castillo twice and decisoned him easily the 2nd.
Whateva man im jus trying to shed a lil light.. fight night is close... hope everyone is watching it.

The skill level of those fighters is no where near the level of PBF so that is why it will give Hatton problems.
..................
Hatton is not a volume puncher...he gets inside throws some shots ties up....
Mayweathers reach will be a definte problem for hatton because...
if you notice through mayweathers carrer he hardly gets hit...
and hatton is more a brawler than a boxer ....
Hattons strong suit is not as a boxer.... he'' hardly touch floyd on fight night....
how is hatton even gonna get inside with mayweathers accuracy....
stick stick move....
start over....
stick stick move...
start over.......
its just gonna be hatton chasing mayweather around all night getting tagged....
thats why ive said several times hatton is gonna freeze in this fight.....
i still think mayweather shouldnt run around to much just box toe to toe...and hatton gets stretcheddddddddd like a las vegas limoooooooooo...
I think the seven inch reach advantage will be a significant advantage for PBF. I don't think Hatton will be able to hold as much as he would like toin this fight and I think Floyd will be able to counter him at will at times during the fight.

Floyd is skilled .... advantages with skill.
floyd is skilled enough for the reach to not affect him as bad.
Well I'm done explaining. We'll just have to wait till fight night for you guys to understand what I mean. Guess thats the only way you guys will get it. See ya on fight night... I can't wait to see the responses.
They understand what you are saying its just that don't want it to be that way because looking at the shit that way just puts another hurdle in the face of Hatton. Which diminishes his chance of winning even more.
If reach were that big of an issue, then Mayweather would have NO CHANCE against Paul Williams, who has a 10 inch reach advantage over Floyd. That's not 7 inches in each arm either, that's the difference in wingspan, fingertip to fingertip.
As Cintron showed the other night against Feliciano, long arms can actually be a disadvantage when fighting on the inside. And guess where Ricky does most of his fighting?

It's not the reach alone that will prove Hatton's downfall. It's the skill, speed, defense, and experience of Mayweather that will take away Hatton's 0.
what Hatton's camp and I guess us Hatton fans are banking on is that this gulf in speed isn't as enormous as is widely accepted as fact. As regards coming in Ricky is crafty he doesn't come in in straight lines if he did Kostya would have absolutely brutalised him.
For the bold Hatton did come in straight lines alot Tszyu just couldn't do shit about it. I take nothing away from Hatton's win but I feel Tszyu fought a terrible fight.
Its not, people* see 4 or 5 Hatton fights and think they know everything there is to know about the guy.
*Mainly Americans, nothing against americans, but people in britain are more exposed to him.
Can't the same be said for people who claim all PBF ever did was run? That would lead people who have seen more than his last 2 fights to feel as some of you Brits do right now. Even though its all a matter of opinion.
to be honest i dnt think this will affect hatton, cos its not like floyd uses his reach advantage all that well over people hatton will still get inside him
