Las Vegas (Dec 3, 2007) - Multi-award winning artist Richard T. Slone has unveiled his latest painting, an enamel and acrylic on canvas masterpiece of the upcoming super fight featuring Floyd Mayweather versus Ricky “Hitman” Hatton, which will take place on Saturday, December 8th, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 30 x 40 inch “Mayweather vs. Hatton” painting captures two undefeated gladiators fighting with every part of their soul. The cornucopia of colors is blended perfectly to express every action of combat.
“This is an exciting fight, it gets no bigger” said Slone “I wanted to express the excitement through my art and I hope the fans enjoy my pre-fight work”. Slone is the official artist of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and recently signed a ten-year agreement for National Geographic/Hampton Brown to publish some of his art.
The latest painting simply titled ‘Mayweather vs. Hatton’ was commissioned by a private collector and sold before it was even completed. Demand for Slone’s original works has increased significantly over the last few years earning him a nomination for 2008 sports artist of the year.
The subjects of this latest painting are no strangers to the masterful brushstrokes of Slone, Mayweather commissioned a portrait in 1998 and Hatton has two paintings hanging in his home in England. Other owners of Slone’s art include Donald Trump, Nelson Mandela, Hugh Hefner, Muhammad Ali and scores more prominent collectors.
nice paint
i couldnt do better but this is not very good. that looks nothing like hatton and floyds nose and chin are enlarged. he does do good work from what ive seen but i would give this a C.
Hmmm...
Not bad, but I can only give it :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:
It could've been much better or more realistic.
Seems like he was doing a rush job, to me.
No offense, but it would probably work for a childrens' book cover.
I'm sure L. Nieman can improve upon it.
Nice work, RodBarker.
:boxing:
Thanks mate , those are digital paintings , the Oscar Bhop is an oil , I like doing boxers and try and bring some of their character into it like Hatton .
nice work Rod, do you write as well, or just draw?
The Frazier painting by the other painter is pretty awesome.
Floyd's face looks bland...Or, it looks as if he's contemplating something that has nothing to do with what he's doing.
On the other hand, Hatton's face looks all puffy. The eyes...
Is Slone giving a hint about his preference in this fight?
Here are some paintings Ive done of boxers

that's good stuff!
so much for dramatizing this fight..
I thought this sport was filled with emotion rather than something like this? In his Hatto-Castillo there was some sign of emotion but this is just ridiculous

Look at their faces. Looks like they're sitting down watching TV, not boxing.
Good painting, but what the fuck...
lol, exactly what I was thinking. I guess hes predicting a snoozer.........
Floyd wouldn't be wearing those trunks lol. Good painting even with all of the weirdness around it.
See, Floyd hit Hatton and wasn't even looking at him lol.
