You don't win rounds by running around the ring and pot shotting.
You mean to tell me that Guzman landed 100 punches more than Soto? Umm, right, whatever judges.
The fight was a lot closer than that IMO. I'm pretty disappointed with the scoring.
O.k., I kinda agree with you on that part. But, (you knew there was gonna be a but, right?) maybe Guzman just takes punches well; which, I believe he does. There were times when they were both swinging for the fences and I thought for sure someone was gonna get KD'd. Obviously I wish Soto would've won, but my biggest problem was with the scoring. I'm sorry, but I just felt there was a Guzman bias in this fight. I hate saying it, because it diminishes his win, but I can't help it. Those scorecards were just way off IMO.
of course there will always be buts. We all have them in diffrent fights, i saw this fight like the barrios guzman fight, the biggest diffrence is that barrios let his hands go more and thats why guzman only got a SD. Soto however did body shots (landed or not) guzman would land a combination that landed clearly and i belive thats what got him the close rounds, the fact that maybe soto body shots landed vs the combinations that guzman did land
i think the point is if soto had landed at least half of all the body shots he threw, there would of been signs, because he did throw a lot. you have to agree with me on that. maybe he had the agression part won but the round is not scored just on agression

But that doesn't mean that the punch didn't score. Soto scored plenty in this fight.

Burowz was soto's body shots affecting guzman at all? i doubt it which means they were getting blocked or weren't powerful enough.

after this fight soto still deserves a title shot, let guzman go up against pacquiao since the pac nuthuggers hate marquez and let marquez take on soto then pacquiao and marquez meet again
I just don't agree man.

One think i didn't like either was the ref who kept stopping Soto when he got a grove to body punch the ref would interupt. The ref was very bias towards Guzman.
Eh, I try to leave the ref out of it, or, at least, not use the ref as an excuse. I don't think it threw Soto off his game much because he was still landing bodyshots. The idea that Soto wasn't landing on Guzman all night long is ridiculous-which is what some would have you believe.

there was only one time were soto was realy unleashing. soto kept palming guzman, and guzman got warned for leaving his glove out. i saw it called fair
as did I. Frustrating fight to score - every round by round I visit, scoring of individual rounds is all over the place, though most of the final scores seem to be in line.
I thought Soto looked foolish for most of the fight. Plodding forward does not equate being the aggressor. But I don't argue with those who suggest Guzman's style is difficult to watch. I enjoying watching his fights, though would like to see him return to the days where he fought with far more aggression.
Please tell me you didn't just call Soto a plodder????? What an insult.

if more have landed, guzman base would not have been as strong, he wouldnt of been able to get out of the corner, and he would of been fatigued
yeah it was pushing it. i gave soto the last couple of rounds cause guzman was fucking around. i could've easily seen it being 118-110
Yeah even if you gave Soto mercy rounds (your choice) there's no way Guzman DIDN'T win 8 of the 12 rounds. At feasible most, you could give Soto 4 rounds and even at that I'd say a score of such is whack.
Anyways, it's a done deal.
Moving up in age and weight with diminishing power..........Guzman is showing that he might be one of if not the most complete fighter in boxing. He obviously showed the power at the lower weights. But now he relies on fighting cereberally and using his gifts in athleticism.

wow just wow
you run the last 4 or 5 rounds of a fight
and compubox stats were pure bullshit.
I guess Guzman wins on style points nothing else. He's getting worse and worse.
Compubox were waaaaay off, as they frequently are. There's no way that Guzman laned 100+ punches more than Soto, no way. It was a gift decision in my eyes. Soto will be back though, so I'm not really worried about it.
Oh fine, he didn't block all of them, he got out of the way.
Happy now?
Though I was really impressed when Soto backed Guzman out on the ropes, Guzman kept weaving and swaying his way out and not get hit. Really impressive.
i had it 116-112 guzman

Close? LMFAO.
The guy who scored it 116-112 is pushing it. I couldn't find a single round to give Soto when he was getting clowned by Guzman's handspeed and defense. A class v.s. B class at best fighter.

Close fight once again. I didn't score the fight but Soto to me looked to landing the more meaningful shots from round 9 and on. Guzman got in his bicycle late in the fight so i hope Soto still buys him the bicycle he promissed Guzman.
