I was just wondering what are your opinions on Joe's legacy. Do you think he is Hall of Fame bound or do you think he needs to do more to enhance his legacy?
IMHO I think he hurt himself earlier in his career by fighting C class fighters. I'm not diminishing his accomplishments. He's a damn good fighter that come to fight from what I've witnessed.
The only real names that stand out on his career was Lacy and Kessler.(just my opinion)
Joe Calzaghe is a world class fighter. He has been undefeated in 44 fights, world champion for more than a decade and now undisputedly THE man at 168, of course hes a Hall Of Famer.
You can't really get a better answer than that!
Sakio Bika now looks like a decent win on his record.
bika was a good performance from joe against a tough dirty opponent (bit too much use of the head for my liking
You know who the genuine great boxers are when they are still producing the goods into mid thirties and beyond. Because they are true masters of their craft. Marvin Hagler was gone by 32, and he lost to SRL as well.
Look at Lacy, he is past his sell by date and look how young he was! Its the people like Hopkins, JC who are the one who are hall of famers.
ANyone can have unbeaten records while still in their youth and then they are found out. Look at Jermain Taylor, Kessler and Co.
course joe is a hall of famer he has unified the super-middleweight division and beaten evryone put infront of him, he would been a long time ago if it hadnt been for warren keeping him defending his WBO (warren boxing organisation) title against nobodies.
Repetition of a misconception. Marciano left boxing 49-0 as the heavyweight champion. Many boxers in lower weight classes have run up records beyond Marciano's.
my bad dude...drinking that jack and coke...still, if joe can keep staging fights against named and quality opposition en route to 49-0, he will shush all the naysayers
he'll get in
just wish he would go for marciano's number and nobody would question that...get to 48-0 and shut everyone up

Yeah I think he will to.
I think he has 4 names that stand out though maybe 5. Eubank, Reid, Bika (?), Lacy, and Kessler. Sure to be a lock if he beats Hopkins though.
