I think it was more evident than ever against Mosley. He ate bombs that woulda dropped most others. Walked right through them without staggering or showing any real signs of being hurt. We've seen him rocked afew times at 140lbs but that's just it. I think that was the answer to it all. Cotto killing himself to make weight was effecting how well his body could absorb a shot and stay balanced. But the argument can only go so far anyway. You can't blame Cotto for being rocked by a KO artist in Torres.

Bingo.
I said ever since the Quintanna fight that i would never bet against Cotto again.
in the lower divisions he faught guys who put everything in there punches with no real skill, and they got lucky shots on him that hurt him, at 147 zab and shane have some what tryed to box him and once in a while threw power combinations
I meant Margarito or Cintron, but yeah Cintron would definitely have to be more accurate, though to be fair Marg was his worst performance to date.I think too that, if Miguel wants to add more luster to his name, those fighters you mentioned should be in his dance card.
Cintron was pretty much more accurate against David Estrada. And, he was a lot more active: averaging more than 60 punches thrown per round over the ten rounds that the fight lasted and connecting close to thirty of those punches in each round. That's a lot better than the 60 punches landed in the entire 5-round fight against Margarito.
Mosley was Cotto's 4th fight at his current weight. Of his 4 opponents, I think, it's Mosley that carries the most power.
With all that said, I agree that Cintron is a good finisher-- very evident in the Estrada and Mathysse fights. He'll not be an easy one for Cotto.
Williams averaged some one hundred punches thrown per round in the Margarito fight. If he puts in as much against Cotto, the latter shall have much to contend with.
But then, Cotto will be punching too and he's not the easiest to hit, either. Judah and Urkal landed only 29% of their respective punches. Mosley did a bit better with 32%. Against Judah, Cotto landed 43% and he was busier as he threw close to 200 more punches than Zab did. Against Urkal, he landed 44% of his punches (he threw 3 less than Urkal did throughout the fight).
In losing to Margarito, Cintron landed only 60 punches in five rounds out of a total of 209 thrown (29%). To make Cotto really pay attention, he'll have to bring along not only power but also be more accurate.

It's hard to say. I havent seen the Mosley fight yet, but from what I hear Cotto was hurt a few times. That said, Mosley is a GREAT finisher, and if he couldnt badly hurt Cotto then Cotto must have a better chin then many of us give him credit for. I was certain that Shane would knock Cotto out no problem, and I was clearly wrong.

margarito also found the way to smother cintron's power
Seemed kind of fishy to me, anyway. I don't think Cotto has a weak chin, but he has been rocked at welter, which makes me think that a better finisher like a Williams or a Cintron would give him problems.

Cotto starved himself to make 140. The dizziness of hunger can make anyone whoozie when you get clocked on the head.
cotto's problems were from making the weight. he comes down from 180+ and somehow makes 147. pinto caught him some good shots and they didn't do shit, cotto has a good chin
Especially when the ref gave him all that extra time while they mopped up the water.
All that extra time? It was Mosley who pointed out he was about to slip and it only took like 3 secs to clean it up.
Nice one ;)
The shit the people come up with.
Improved? Yes, it seems so have...
Cotto did not really have a weak chin. I think he had an above average beard at Jr. Welter. But at his current weight... Well, he took a flush uppercut from Mosley and didn't even flinch.
I dunno about that water mopping episode, though. It just isn't clear to me that Cotto was really hurt prior to the ref's action. I am just not too sure whether he was or wasn't. Mosley later slipped on about the same spot... Moreover, it was Mosley who gestured to the ref about the water pool as Cotto went backwards towards the ropes. So sporting of Sugar Shane! Class act.

what happened to shane after the ref stop it,he slipped,i think there was logic to his move
