Mosley made the Error of believing the MYTH that Cotto Has a Weak Chin And Based his PLAN A on that theory..
Gone were the trademark Flurries and Combos.. Replaced instead by a Looking to land THAT one big punch headhunting STYLE...
When Mosley Threw punches in bunches.. he was effective..
But he seem to figure that out a little too late..
mosley loss because he thought cotto was slow, and had a weak chin. cotto took some pretty flush shots from shane, but they didnt really hurt him. he fought a great fight.
I said this after the Judah fight and I'm saying it again. Cotto MAKES you throw one punch at a time. He likes to counter-punch when his opponent is punching and, after the first few times they get hit, they decide they don't want any part of Cotto's left hook. So, they throw one punch at a time, hoping to connect and get out of the way before Cotto has a chance to counter them.
Cotto's style is what makes his opponents fight like that. Against DLH it will be the same thing. DLH will come in with his quick combos at first, and he'll try to land his left uppercut in the beginning seting up his left hook with it (yes, the double left) but, after the third round, I think we'll see a lot of DLH getting on his bike and not wanting to really engage Cotto. He says he wants a war until he gets hit by Cotto a few times. I don't think Cotto KO's DLH, as Oscar is known for having a pretty tough beard, but the body shots might take their toll and DLH might end up where he did in the Hopkins fight.
what he said............................

Cotto was effective because he would keep catching Mosley when Mosley was Moving away.. Cotto did a splendid job of reading Molsey's foot work..
I have always believed in Cotto and Bet on him in this fight just like I have bet on him in the past.. I have ALWAYS known he is Fast..
SO I am not trying to discredit Cotto's win in any way..
I am just saying .. For 6 or so rounds Mosley was headhunting.. He found Success later in the fight By Throwing Combos.. His Trademark.. I am simply wondering he abandoned His hand speed in the early going..
He thought that he was going to knock Cotto out if he caught him flush a few times. That's probably why he didn't punch in combo as much as he should've early. Had he done that we might've seen a different outcome.
I think that shane didn't expect cotto to box so well and it completely threw is gameplan off. I mean they landed the exact same number of punches which is something I hardly see. Plus I think shane wasn't prepared for cottos jab either. It was excellent. I didnt know that cotto jab so well. I say that it was a case of underestimating your opponent to why mosely lost.
You tell me why there are men in organisations like the SAS who can run 20 miles with 50lbs on there back and a weapon. Men who are 10 times fitter than people 10 years younger than them. Obviously age catches up with every body in the end but there is no peak. I understand what you're saying and dont want to get into an argument but age isn't a massive factor when talking about somebodys fitness levels. Look at Dean Karnazes (45) or Lance Armstrong (36). Both unbelievably fit athletes who have 2 of the lowest resting heart rates going. The human body doesn't have set limits of how far it can go.
Have you never heard the saying "muscles have no memory"? You can be at the peak of physical fitness anywhere between 20 - 45. You don't get to 30 years old then all of a sudden start going downhill year by year.
hahaha what happened u stupid ass what happened to all that bullshit u were talking that's why u stupid ass is not online too much hahaha :bottle: :bottle: :owned:
I just like the way people still think Cotto has a weak chin. I agree with Welter it's just a myth. Torres is the only man to knock him down and that was more of a push then a punch. Yes he's been hurt a few times, but with his style he's bound to hit good once in a while. I agree as well Mosely went for that KO blow for a few rounds and that's when Cotto started to impose his will and win some rounds that eventually led to his victory.
Mosley fucked up by not throwing combos and throwing oNe big punch....Cotto has a weak chin and always will.. His defense got better and it's clear if you watch the fight with Judah and the fight with Mosley. Nobody wants to see Paul Williams...not Mayweather not Cotto.
are you in 9th grade? did you even make it into high school? or did you just eat all the glue in 8th grade and decide that the "magical paste" gave you enough knowledge to say mr-know-it-all bullshit like this?
the human male body reaches is physical peak at age 30. after that, the body starts to deteriorate.
if muscles dont age, can you explain why a 30 year old man is typically stronger than an 80 year old man?
take ur stupid "magical paste" knowledge elsewhere in the world. it has no place here.

Mosley didint make up for his defensive lapses by keeping his feet moving for most of the fight, he only did it in the latter part of the fight and it bothered cotto, but on the other hand, he left himself so open for counters, he may as well have been fucking standing there.
I think the main factors that Shane lost this fight were:
1) Age: His reflexes were slower than they were and he wasn't able to slip punches as effectively as he used to. His footwork didn't look as good either in this fight. He got tired pretty bad in this fight and couldn't throw good flurries towards the end of the fight when Cotto was backing away.
2) Cotto: I think he surprised alot of us with his speed in this fight. I don't Mosley expected Cotto to be that quick as well and it caught him off guard early in the fight and cost him a few rounds while he was trying to adjust.
3) Cotto's Chin: I think Mosley believed a little too much that Cotto's chin was very weak and Mosley was looking too much for a knockout in the early rounds which also cost him rounds.
This are all just my opinions.
This is bullshit.
Your muscles don't age. So there is no physical peak at all.

Err some people forget Shane Mosley is 36 years old. Physic peak for men comes around 27, 28. Then it's down hill
Then why did anyone give him a chance at all..??? Fuck off you doorknob.. You obvioulsy are nowhere near the age of 27-28 or you would know you are just begining to peak.. and the down hill stuff starts in your in midish 30's.. its not the 1920's anymore... many athletes play well into their 30's and even early 40's these days..
Dont talk if you dont know what you are talking about.. Fucking Nonce

Cotto did use much of his speed in Judah fight probably Judah made him look slower than he really is.
But Carlos fight Cotto was quick and tricky, He switched quick from time to time which confused Carlos alot.
but he cant do this trick all the time. epically not in front of elite or veteran fighter
I have to watch this fight again for several reasons, but..
For me, I think Mosley was as shocked as anyone else that Cotto was so fast and accurate upstairs. If we're looking at this in the perpective of why Shane lost it I would have to say that Cotto fooled us all with his counterpunching and smart Boxing. Especially Mosley, who we could see in various replays getting nailed square in the jaw as he's doing a nice job of covering up his torso. I think Mosley prepared for a different fight than he got, underestimated Cotto's strength slightly, and underestimated Cotto's overall ability. But Mosley wasn't the only one.. Alot of people did. But then again; who knew Cotto could perform like that against his best ever opponent? Miguel was ripping shots about 4 times faster than usual.
Neither fighter came as ordered.
It was a close fight. Cotto looked fantastic and Mosley looked good at different points. But Shane's timing was off, and he fought more like he was in a sparring session than an actual fight for extended periods.
All credit to Cotto. He did as much to win this fight as Shane did to lose.
