i cant see who hed have to beat to conclusively prove his worth...there seems to be excuses with everyone...i think the hard works out the way with kessler to be honest...
roy versus joe actually intrigues me way more than bernard does....i guess its the curiosity as too whether roy has anything left...its kind of unlikely joe would land a big punch and ko roy so we'd probably see a pretty good fight....no chance roy wins though
I say fight Roy jones after he demolishes Tito. That is fight of athleticism right there. it would be exciting an intense like Floyd vs Zab. Athlete vs athlete, flash vs flash, speed vs speed...yall get the idea.
I've only seen this dude zag fight ONE TIME....and I was impressed, along with his undefeated record and unifying his devision....he has NOTHING ELSE 2 PROVE!
just my opinion...
I'd like him to move up weight,(which he says he's gonna do) then i'd like to see one last fight in uk against woods who i think would give him a hell of a fight and possibly beat joe, then take anyone on at 175 and fight Kelly for his last fight
Anyone's an easy option right now... the divisions around him are littered with name old men with little resistance left (RJJ, Hopkins...) or green opponents that would be tailor made for him (Miranda, Pavlik...)
Kelly Pavlik, as much as I like him, was nearly KO'd in two rounds. Jermain gassed out... The Blow does not gas out.
I agree... no one on the P4P rating in those three division except for Calzaghe, Hopkins and Wright, meaning everyone is either past it or green. Kinda sucks for Calzaghe, that he won't get a great fight to build his legacy up even more on, but that's life I guess.
He should go after Hopkins or Wright IMO.
id just rather see joe in a fight with a relevant current fighter than give bernard another big payday....its like winky v bernard, it changed nothing..
Maybe so... but when Joe beats Pavlik, people are going to say that Pavlik was a flash in the pan, nothing big. Beat one guy, etc.
Pretty much the way I feel about him right now... it will just take a loss to wake people up that he hasn't proven himself to be nearly as good as people are making him out to be.
Anyways, he said he's done with 168. 175, the best is probably Dawson, but again, he hasn't really done much of note, so a win over him wouldn't stack up to Joe's legacy like you are asking.
The answer, there really isn't a good one. The problems of finding someone good to fight is that young fighters are rarely stars, and the star fighters are rarely young.
He would impress me if a beat a slew of those fighters, I would love to see these fights:Joe C. vs. Wright, Pavlik, Tarver, Taylor, and RJJ. Not at the same time of course that would be impressive. but I'd love to see anyone of those fights.
there's no one left...
although he would have impressed me more if he had fought some of those fighters in their prime...
i think we can all agree on that
BH is the best option, but its too late
id just rather see joe in a fight with a relevant current fighter than give bernard another big payday....its like winky v bernard, it changed nothing..
Yeah, Joe is great already. He has cleaned out a division.
No, Pavlik is not the best choice for him. For the love of fuck, Pavlik is good, but has not done anything that would make him the mandatory to beat to become an ATG.
Hopkins would be a good win for him.
JC is already a great cos of what he has achieved. There is noone for him to beat because there isnt anyone out there real good. His record is better than anyone out there so if he beats them its no big deal
BH would be a good victim because he has a similar record and is rated higher p4p. But there isnt anyone really. Beat Pavlik would be good because he beat JT, who beat Hopkins.
