Which of the brothers is the all around better fighter. Forget occomplishments and in-ring acheivments, who is the more skilled fighter.
I think Juan Manuel Marquez is clearly better, but not much better. Just clearly. He is one of the best body punchers in the lower classes, one of the best combination punchers in the sport, one of the best counterpunchers in the sport, and p4p one of the best in the sport.
thoughts?
Rafael Marquez vs Tim Austin ROUND 8 is one of the best rounds ive ever seen. Marquez was badly hurt early in the round, fights back like he always does when he's hurt. Then sends Austin through the ropes with a right hand and stops him on his feet a few seconds later.
And what makes it so great, was that Snowell, Austins trainer (and that guy that trained Tyson for Douglas) Yelled across the ring to Marquez's corner that "it wont be long now!!!" because Marquez seemed hurt at the end of round 7.
Just an awsome round, after a decent fight before that
You obviously took what I said the wrong way entirely....It had nothing to do with you or your knowledge of these two boxers....It had to do with the other posting admitting he din't know enough to comment and you being a smart ass fuckhead and trying to call him out on it......:boxing:
So why comment then?
I've watched enough of both of them to know who is the better of the two, so don't act like a fuckhead and jump to conclusions on people you know little about.

True.....you may be being sarcastic but I'm not......If you don't really know just admit it instead of acting like a fuckhead and arguing a point you know little about.

We need more insight like this.....this guys something special.

I haven't really watched enough of Rafael to know. But from what other people say, it looks like Juan is the better of the two.

JMM is better
lol clearly better but not much. doesnt even make sense.
JMM, by the way.
As for what I quoted, yes it does. I can clearly be taller than someone, but not by much.
Right now, JMM is the better of the two. He's the one who most recently has outboxed the better level of opposition in Barrera and Juarez.
It's been a while since Rafa has fought Austin and Johnson......the two best fighters he's ever fought. Juarez is a better fighter than Vasquez IMO. And I don't know why people have Vasquez ranked on P4P lists when his only victory outside of the blown up Rafa was a washed up/blown up Larios.

Juan Manuel has always been the better Technical fighter, with the better chin also. Rafael has better power, but both are great. Maybe they will get Inducted in the Hall of fame the same year.
You're dead on with this post. Someone else also said in this thread the Rafael is more willing to stay close and trade which I would agree with too, not that JMM doesn't do his share, but I think that JMM is more the boxer and Rafael is more the brawler.
gotta go with Juan Manuel. his ring intellegence is just superior and his combination punches are things of wonders. I'd LOVE to watch a fight with these 2 fighting on the same card.
Juan is better and has always been the better fighter but man, Rafael turned into a very skilled fighter too. Im say Juan by by a little. Plus as mentioned Juan has the better chin so that allows him to be a bit better.
