Ricky hatton compated to Joe Calazghe

I kind of discredit Hatton because he held the whole entire tyzu fight, and he also held alot in the castillo fight. That kind of fighting kind of disgusts me. Hatton hugged more then he threw punches. I wonder what would have happened to Hatton in those fights if he elected to box instead of putting his whole body weight on to his opponent the entire fight. He holds then he throws a hard bodyshot to castillo breaking castilos ribs. I don't like that kind of fighting. I'm sure floydno1 would be upset if Hatton Ko'd Floyd by holding then hitting. He'll complain if Hatton some how wins like that, but he won't complain ahead time about how hatton got his wins of tyzu and castillo. Also, its kind of hard to hate hatton at the same time because he is a small dude and doesn't have the reach and thats why I feel he feels he needs to hold and hit. Other wise his opponents would jab the crap out of him the whole entire fight. So calzaghe is fighting clean when he slaps people on the back of the head then. He warned by the red endless times and has throughout his career. I'd rarther be held than slapped on the back of the head

^^^ there's no justifiying what he did in that fight... it was ugly, plain and simple.. but i think he still deserved the win

even if you call them even... you have to realise that nobody is calling hatton top3 for his record!!! so far that plus the fact that hatton is 28 and is fighting floyd himself in his next fight says it all!! even if he looses he'll have faced tougher opponents

C'mon Ricky fought only bums despite Zoo and Castillo. The first was over-the-hill the second shot and a blown up LW.

That's what I said... but one big win vs. both Eubank and Reid? The case can be made that Tszyu was over it, as well as Castillo, which are the two biggest wins of Hatton's career.

Robin Reid, Chris Eubank... both great names on Calzaghe's record. Both better on anyone on Hatton's record, other than Tszyu. chris eubank was finished... FACT he had been losing before this fight and he lost after i'm not sure where robin reid was... and even then i'd disagree

Career wise, I think Calzaghe has the way better resume then Hatton. But the last couple of his fights were opponents that weren't that great(except Kessler, Kesslers good). But how can that be his fault if those are the only opponents willing to face him for the right amount of money? Ricky resume is and willl always be better than calzaghes, he has fought tyzu, collazo, castillo and will be fighting floyd and if he loses probs cotto or mosley.

Just comparing ricky hatton last and next fight to joe calazghes last fights and possible next. You tell me who has had it easy and who has not. To me ricky has fought the harder opponents and he is only 28, joe is 35 and only has a couple of big names on his record. Both better on anyone on Hatton's record, other than Tszyu.

Hatton has far better wins then Joe, but people value longevity. When you break it down like that, though, Hatton's legacy looks better.

Alot of ppl duck Calzaghe, hbo.com has already said that alot of boxers ask for a ridiculous amount of money to fight Calzaghe including roy jones jr and bernard hopkins. even if that's true... (which it isn't entirely) it doesn't change the facts, so you are basically agreeing right now (as any logical person would) frank warren is a shady character, and joe has himself blamed frank on numerous occasions... joe could have just gone to america, fought a couple fights to build up buzz like hatton... i believe he could have done it!!! i don't think his camp would.... if you are that great and your management does what they're supposed to you can't be avoided.. look at hatton

this is what i mean!!! ricky's record looks better.... and now he's fighting floyd mayweather!!!!! even if he looses he'll end up fighting a loser of the mosley-cotto fight or the cintron-williams fight or margarito... if he gets through all this and does well... then there is no comparison
