Here is what's wrong with Calzaghe.....

NO he is not dipshit. I just gave my 2 cents on what I think about his style like most do about Floyd's. That's all.......comprehension skills please. This thread was inspired by the numberous Mayweather/Calzaghe threads out here. The Kessler-Calzaghe fight was fast paced, aesthetically pleasing match. With that said, I hate the way he throws punches. He goes for that shoeshine shit in every fight and the crowd goes wild, but I just think he looks like a queer fighting his way outta spiderwebs. That said, it does get the job done. So there...whatever you Floyd critics have to say about his fighting style that's what a Floyd Mayweather fan thinks of Joe's. good thread. calzaghe is a very good boxer but his punches and sloppy slappy combos are ugly.

That there are a minority of boxing fans that would rather watch a guy dance, run, elbow, and feather punch his way to a victory (see Mayweather nuthuggers) than watch real boxing.

Im assuming that a lot of people on this site actually DO box. I assume, but the evidence is not overwhelming. People on here criticise his punching his style and his movement as if they were contenders themselves -and we all know what a silly word THAT has become since the ridiculous Stallone programme began. Joe Calzaghe has been a champion for 10 years and won 7 titles as an amateur. He has not lost as a professional because he simply will not consider it can happen. His self-belief is astonishing and he backs it up with results. Eubank was the real deal and only 31 when Joe beat him. He has made mandatory defences of his title (mandatory meaning he HAS to take the fight) and won them all. He has been in trouble in the ring and come through. Has been knocked down, got up and beaten whoever has hit him. He has won big, he has won ugly and he has won narrowly against whoever he has in front of him. He has not been to America, but since when was America the centre of the universe? America sent over Lacy who was as good as sent back in a box. How many losers on this site could even imagine having a record like Joe Calzaghe? The only people out there left for him to fight have already had a chance and refused to come over here and take his title - apparently it only counts if he comes to their country. Know what? Wrong again. Mayweather hasn't knocked anyone out at light-middleweight. At weleterweight he has only knocked out Sharmba Mitchell which is, lets face it, not exactly something to write home about. At lightweight Mayweather secured one knockout. So all in all the vast majority of Mayweather's KOs have been at super featherweight or against dubious opposition at higher weights. I will of course be happy to eat my words should Mayweather KO Hatton but I wouldn't hold my breath until that happens. That's because his power at 147 is gone. That's because he has had more fights at super-feather then he did in the other 4 divisons combined.

i have to disagree with you on a prime oscar woudl have lost that fight. it was clsoe enough and i feel that oscar was a lot less effective in the last maybe 3 rounds because he was just tired. anyway no biggy let's just leave it at that. A prime Oscar is the same fighter basically but since we're gonna talk who would have beaten who at their prime.........Floyd isn't at his prime either right now. The second he moved up from 140lb he lost his prime and it's not age related either. He no longer possesses the punching power that he used to. He is forced to be more defensive against bigger guys now for a reason.......not because he is a pussy...although the critics like to think of it that way.
