look there is no doubt that jc just fought prolly the best fight of his life. but that doesnt mean he is p4p the best. yes he beat a great fighter. but there the only two creditable fights. overrated lacey and a great fighter in kessler. the reason why is bc he doesnt come over here. he comes here and wins some big fights than yes i will put him atop of p4p but until he fights here and beats the great fighters here he is just not going to be up there. he needs to come here and fight pavlik. he needs to come over here and fight even taylor, hops, rjj and so on. he needs to beat the names over here. not the names over there. not taking nothing away from the man. he fought great i though kessler was going to beat him im not scared to come out and say it. i was excited bc he was finally gonna lose. but he won and im gonna give it to him. but i see now that he is the greatest fighter of all time or on some ppl p4p he is num 1 or two. he neeeds to come here and fight before he is atop of those rankings.
I'm glad you think I represent the entire United Kingdom, that's very flattering. You did downgrade Calzaghe, by saying that he hardly ever fought anybody of consequence. This is untrue, he has fought everyone who is anyone at 168 lbs (and Peter Manfredo) and beat them all. There's nothing else he can do apart from change weight divisions. Oh look, he's going up to 175 to fight Hopkins.
When did I say anything about the military? Go on, find the quote where I said something about the military.
But you're happy to accept the greatness of Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Junior. Why don't you accept the greatness of Joe Calzaghe on their terms? Is Howard Eastman a better fighter in California?
Calzaghe is getting the credit he deserves. Maybe not in the United States, but he is around the world.
Hatton was a big star before he came over to the United States, and was also the linear champ at 140 lbs and the number one in the division. Has his star risen since he fought in the US? Certainly. He's started to get recognition in the US, though it is still overwhelmingly negative. You honestly believe that being xenophobic and insular are qualities to be applauded? Your responses suggest to me that you are of the opinion that fighters from outside the United States deserve to be ignored because they are not American. It's understandable to a degree. After all if you don't see someone fight, how can you rate them? Trouble is that some people get so caught up in disparaging and criticising fighters they have never seen that when they finally get the chance, as you did on Saturday, there's an immediate pressure to discredit them otherwise you would have to commit the cardinal sin of admitting you were wrong.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion on a fighter, but you failed to critique the achievement or the performance, instead discrediting the record which, less face it, you are not party to.
I can't stop talking "military shit" because I haven't started.
He isn't allowed to beat a good American fighter in Wales? Or does the fighter become a "bum" after he loses?
That's exactly what you were saying. You said that you are "not impressed" with Calzaghe because he spent his career fighting "nobodies".
You started a topic bitching out a fighter in his moment of triumph. These are the replies. Deal with it.
i did not bitch about him. i was simply saying can you really rate him p4p num 1 when he hasnt fought over here yet. i never thought lacey was that good anyway. i admitted that i didnt like joe at one point but i also said that i needed to see him fight. not in this thread but in others. howard eastmen?? ok peter manfredo is a great come on now. roy and hops i was simply asking why if people dick eat on them about fighting nobodys than why is joe simply amazing than. hatton was recognized over seas. HBO signed him bc he was good. i never said he wasnt. but that win he had the so called greatest win of his career didnt land him the PBF fight. HBO also signed him i think bc he was talking about coming over here to fight. face it calzage kessler was and will be the bigest fight outside the US bc PBF hatton is here. PBF and DLH was here. cotto mosley is here. roy tito is here. DLH next fight will be here. PBF next fight will be here. and face it when those two or any of the fighters i just named fight its here and on PPV.
you race motherfuckers make me sick, you act like your countries is high and mighty and all USA fans dick ride. pieces of shit, and I ain't referring to your whole countries neither like you ignorant bastards be doing I'm referring to you assholes who factor in race into a Boxing forum then when hit with your own medicine you cry racism like little bitches.. man up and leave that race shit elsewhere because over here (in NSB for you 1 sentence quoters)it's the skills that does the talking.. how can all USA fans discredit fighters from other countries when I rank Joe Calzaghe as #2 in the world? wake up and smell the leather..
i never took anythingh away from him. you UK are acting like i totally down graded him.

this is a boxing website non stop boxing. go into one of the other topics. i never not once didnt give him credit. u all are now saying he fought all the best in his weight class. ok hops did everyone said that he fought nobodys in his weightclass. roy jones he beat everyone in the lightheavy weight div u all said he ducked people. he beat the best in his hops did in his and now JC did it in his.
But you're happy to accept the greatness of Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Junior. Why don't you accept the greatness of Joe Calzaghe on their terms? Is Howard Eastman a better fighter in California?
good for him. good for him for making those 21 defenses. thats great. why dont you think he is getting the credit he desrves.
Calzaghe is getting the credit he deserves. Maybe not in the United States, but he is around the world.
bc he is not over here. face it. hatton wasnt anything big until he came here. now he gets PBF. he beat an over the hill out of prime jose luis castillo. than he beat some other bum(just barely) that one of our better american fighters destroyed. give me a break.

and stop talking military shit.
I can't stop talking "military shit" because I haven't started.
and to the dude who lashed out for the first comment. its cool dont worry about it. this is your sport he is your fighter and you have a reason. went alittle to far but shit happens. all im saying is that he needs to get his hype. he isnt going to do it over there. he has to come here and beat hops or a good american fighter.
He isn't allowed to beat a good American fighter in Wales? Or does the fighter become a "bum" after he loses?
thats all im saying. not saying he isnt a great fighter/champion he is.
That's exactly what you were saying. You said that you are "not impressed" with Calzaghe because he spent his career fighting "nobodies".
you all just get way to out of hand when it comes down to talking about your fighter. you all almost made me cheer for floyd until i remembered that i cant stand his ass.
You started a topic bitching out a fighter in his moment of triumph. These are the replies. Deal with it.
bc this is where boxing is. you dont see DLH and PBF going overseas to fight the mega fight. the mega fights are in las vegas. in the states. im also not saying joe has to travel when he is the champ. but he has said he is not getting the big fights he deserves or the money. its bc there is no one left in his div to fight. if he wants the mega fight he needs to come here simple as that. im saying there is no one left in his div. if he wants to shine he needs to come here. hatton won his best fight oversea's ok. but that didnt get him a PBF fight did it? no bc no one was really paying attention neither was PBF.
If nobody was paying attention then why did HBO sign him up immediately after the fight?
so why are american boxers p4p when they don't go overseas? i don't understand your logic. getting a fight overseas isn't easy, and politics ahs some part to play. if you judge a boxer in terms of skill, fights or whatever than where they have fought then he is certainly top 4 p4p.

fuck you and your fucking dollar you asshole. Go to fucking hell with yo' tea drinking, brittish ass. :boxing:
You should change youre name though man, the knicks are garbage and will be garbage for at least 10 more years.
The point is this though...if you want to challenge someone for their title, then you have no right to dictate the terms as if you were champion. If Joe moves up to 175, he will have to lay down his ego in some ways. If he can't fight Bernard for a few million, then he just won't get the fight.
For a guy to stay at 168 (obscure division) in one area for his whole career and then complain about not getting fights is silly. However, if anyone wants Joe's belt(s) at 168 then they need to be willing to travel to Wales.
i find it funny how many people criticise joe for not travelling. he's been champion for 10 years and if you wanted his belt you would have to go to him.
it's understandable that if joe wants to fight hopkins that he will have to go tot he US. joe has said he is willing to go there. joe said it's up to frank warren now. if joe was going to fight a light heavy with a belt then ofcourse he will go to where ever.
FUCK OFF .......
LOL even the Canadian Dollar is worth more than your lousy war mongoring peice of shit Dollar...
fuck you and your fucking dollar you asshole. Go to fucking hell with yo' tea drinking, brittish ass. :boxing:

How many times does this have t be explained to you people? They don't need to. US is the boxing mecca. It is THE international venue for fighting. If Joe moves up to 175 and wants the champ (Hops) then he should come to the U.S.
I rate Calzaghe p4p number one, but you ladies shouldn't get offended by this guy's thread, especially given the obvious hypocrisy:
the US is a mecca of boxing, but soemtimes it's easier to make money or start at home. i mean if joe was offered a huge amount to go to the US then he would. has he been offered a lot? i don't think so.
u think that bc u all never come over here. all im saying is he needs to come overhere and fight. im sorry if i hit a nerve im just saying. its my thought. u all have it and so do i.
so why are american boxers p4p when they don't go overseas? i don't understand your logic. getting a fight overseas isn't easy, and politics ahs some part to play. if you judge a boxer in terms of skill, fights or whatever than where they have fought then he is certainly top 4 p4p.
....I think the fact that things like the US economy/military etc etc are being brought into play lets me know that some peoples agendas on here are more than just boxing.
like i said, United States has no shortage of good amatuers, as far as boxing goes we still have many up and comers and the future of boxing in america is still bright, there is no shortage of americans fighting for olympic glory, which means we still have something to cheer about later on.
99% of all US champs have never fought away from home.

all your gay ass fighters are either 1000 years old or not even american like oscar.
the only people who think american boxing is a worth a shit are these brainless 12 year olds who think RJJ is the greatest fighter who ever lived
i think our latest showing at the world amatuers shows we still have up and comers, americans are still fighting in droves in our amatuer system.
im not saying there is a rule im saying thats whats has to happen. like i said hatton wasnt really that big and wasnt getting the BIG TIME fight when he was over there he came here and now he is fighting PBF just like calz comes here he is going to fight hops. A BIG TIME FIGHT.
Hatton has fought in America three times but his biggest fight and most impressive victory was in Britain.
No he doesn't. There is no rule which says you must fight in America in order to be considered a top fighter.
im not saying there is a rule im saying thats whats has to happen. like i said hatton wasnt really that big and wasnt getting the BIG TIME fight when he was over there he came here and now he is fighting PBF just like calz comes here he is going to fight hops. A BIG TIME FIGHT.
A fighter does NOT NEED to fight in the USA to prove his credibility.
99% of all US champs have never fought away from home.
Joe Calzaghe has done nothing different.
He is the best.
Therefore he retains the right to fight on his own turf.
thats true he is the best in his weightclass. but this is why he is so undderated some people over here. bc he wont fight here. my thing is ok and this goes for JC you shouldnt have to go oversea's to defend your title. poeple said roy ducked Dariusz Michalczewski. but he wouldnt come here why if roy is the champ should he go over there to fight. rightfully so why should JC come over here to fight if he is the champ. bc its made over here. he doesnt even have to defend his title against hops he can move up to fight hops if he wanted too. im just saying until he comes over here he is not going to get the rankings he deserves. its just how it is. besides roy said he would GO OVER TO THE UK TO FIGHT JC (AGAIN HE WOULD GO TO THE UK TO FIGHT JC) but he said i have nothing to prove by beating roy. but now he wants to fight him. bc he knows he needs to beat the names over here. over the hill out of prime or not. they are the biggest names closest to his weightclass.
I agree with some of what was said but in Calz defence he HAS fought a lot of GOOD fighters he just hasn't fought many prime superstars BUT the same can and is said of many american fighters even our very own superstars such as Roy Jones do not have a long list of other superstar names on their records.
Another part of it is that these fighters that we claim never fight anyone always beat thoses who would have became that big name fighter if they had won those fights as we seen with Tarver who before the 2nd Roy Jones fight was not all that well known.
If he had not beat Roy he would have just been another win on Roy's record just as many have become.
I'm sure the same fact is true of a lot of Calz former oponnents.
