I'll back you up on that actually. It is kinda ridiculous. However, I don't think its a case of him not being ABLE to make the weight.. He's just an idiot for getting up to about 250 in between fights. Still though.. After he looks awesome against Mayorga he should continue fighting. Vargas/De La Hoya 2, baby.. Yeah, his weight problems are all on him...how the hell are you gonna allow yourself to blow up to 250 after you last fought at 154?!?!? We'll see what happens I guess though in the fight. If Vargas gets his ass KO'd, he deserves it! If Mayorga gets his ass beat, he deserves it too as usual for all the shit-talking he does! :cool:

I just feel that he's going to look awesome against Mayorga and prove to a lot of people that he can still fight. Regardless of whether or not its his "last fight." The truth is though that even if he wins by KO, people won't be impressed and they'll keep talking shit about him 'cause he couldn't even make the original contracted weight for the fight and gave himself (along with Mayorga by agreeing to it) an advantage by upping the weight so that he didn't have to work harder to make weight. It's just pathetic that being a person who makes a living from professional fighting can't have enough discipline to maintain himself in somewhat good shape! :mad:

Vargas say its his last fight, but I think he needs to man up. I don't think he's over the hill like most people say. If Vargas looks good against Mayorga he should keep fighting. Would love to see a Vargas/DLH 2. Wasnt that fight supposed to happen before they signed off on Mosley/Vargas? Vargas/DLH 2 would be great at their ages now. Would still generate big bucks. Especially after a Vargas win. The fight would do good numbers, no doubt about that...mostly 'cause Oscar can fight anyone and do big numbers! But if a juiced up Vargas back in the day couldn't beat Oscar, how will a "past-his-prime" version of Vargas that can't even keep in shape compete with De la Hoya??? What weight would you expect them to fight at? Oscar would utterly destroy Vargas in the first few rounds if they ever fought again! :boxing:

I mean it was funny, but all he did was call Vargas fat in 20 different ways. Floyds trash talk is more creative and effective, he really messes with some of his opponents heads. Dont limit Mayorgas trash talk just to this fight. He has been at it for awhile. He gave it to Forrest bad. He fucked him up so bad, Forrest refused to show up at the last press conference .

Neither is vargas. Mayorga has been involved in a ton of PPV buys. It takes two fighters to sell a fight.
