Why All The Mayweather Hate?

Here is my response to what Ive read so far. I think that its fair to hate someone for the way they act. I dont have a problem with the way he acts but I could see how others would. Still, I dont think a ton of people on these boards are very hypocritical. I bet anything that alot of the same people who talk about the way Floyd acts are the same people who go to "football games in Europe" and act like a damn fool. Why do you people get mad for Floyd saying he is the greatest but you guys praise Ali for the exact same things? Here is the #1 thing that I talk about the most when it comes to Floyd that I think is unfair and Ive heard it again alot in these responses. They talk about the way he fights and the guys he's fighting at WW while praising guys like Cotto, Margarito, Williams, and so on. I have always thought that was so unfair and that people dont look at the facts. The fact is that Floyd is P4P the smallest guy in boxing. He's not big at all. He only moved up for the pay day with Oscar. If Oscar wasnt around or was a smaller cat then Floyd wouldve stayed at 135 until now almost and finished his career at 140. If he had did that then no one would be clowning the way he fights. Also, people still keep acting like theyve only seen his last 2 fights. In his 6 fights before they he fought alot. Baldy & Oscar were just way too big for him. He shouldve really never even been in the ring with them. Sure he talks trash about going toe to toe but fighters lie about what there going to do all the time. When other people in sports do that they call it gamesmenship. People praise the way guys like Cotto and them fight but its not the same at all. How many times have those guys fought someone bigger then them? Some of the times the guys are the same size and mostly every other time they are the bigger man and usually much bigger. You guys act like that doesnt change the way you fight? You guys think Floyd is going to fight a guy at LW or 140 the same way he does Oscar at 154 or Baldy who is basically a 154 pounder? He cant do it. Let those guys fight people 20 pounds bigger then them or move up to there 5th weight class and see how aggressive they look. If they dont box then they will get KO cold and early. Thats why they never move up. They like fighting smaller men but they call Floyd a pussy for the way he's fighting even though he's always much smaller then his opponent. Again, in his 6 fights before Baldy he was very aggressive. Also, lets not act like Cotto took a pay cut to fight Shane because that is not true at all. Cotto hasnt even came close to having a good selling PPV while Mosley has put up big numbers. On top of that the fight is in NY which is basically Cotto's hometown. Cotto is a super popular boxer in the media and with fans but dont confuse that with sells just yet. He's not Tito. He got paid what he could get paid. He didnt take a cut at all Good post it will be ignored by most of the haters though.

Shit, if u wanna go by punchstat#'s, Castillo/Floyd I was shutout then. Castillo threw and landed at a highter percentage in every category. And Castillo also lost 5 rounds straight in that fight, he was just active and effective in the rds he won.

Some people hate Floyd because of his pure cockyness and arrogance towards other fighters who have accomplished much in their careers. Im not saying Floyd hasn't because that would just be simple lies. We know what he has achieved but some people don't see the reason in him remiding us all the time or saying hes the best ever when there may be greater fighters before him. I don't hate floyd but i can see why other people do. If Hatton wins excuses will be made to protect Floyd in one way or another just the same as if Hatton loses, its just the way some people are. I'd rather just sit back and let them state their opinions on the man.

people have gotten tired of this man being a coward and refusing to fight the best, we dont need no businessman in boxing. Like your boy Margarito who acted like he was ducked when in reality only the businessmen didn't want to fight him. Guys like Williams wanted a peace of him and he almost pussied out. If it wasn't for the mandatory position that Paul enforced on him, he would have never fought him because he knew he was gonna lose. Margarito is no different. Just another tough guy trying to get in and make that cash AND because he can't he will cry about being ducked.

This is what i posted about a week ago on a similar thread: I dislike him because he has become all bark and no bite. He talks about how he is going to get in the ring and whoop so and so's ass, then ends up fighting as if he doesnt wanna break a damn nail. If thats the type of fighter you are, then cool, just say it. Just dont go around acting like your some sort of killer, when in fact, your a passive/safety-first fighter who would rather cruise to a safe points victory, as oppose to utilizing your full potential and closing the show in impressive fashion, all the while giving your fans thier money's worth. The guy has brittle hands and his punching power has decreased. I don't think he acting like Mayorga or Vargas or Miranda. Those guys act like monsters, like they're gonna kill the other guy in the ring and all of em got knocked out. He is more the Ali, sugary ray leonard type being more flashy with his words. Most of it is promotion. People already have an opinion on him and he is just coperating with those fans playing the character that they already assume he is.

Who cares man, let them hate. If you are paying to watch him get his ass kicked he has alraedy won. If you hate another human being who you don't know and take his comments to heart maybe you are a little to sensative and shouldn't be watching this sport.

When someone has been claiming for a long time now to be the greatest in the history of the sport, has a boatload of talent, speed and coordination, but instead chooses to be a Michael Nunn type of boring fighter, all the while chasing the highest dollar fights, instead of fighting the best in his division and silencing the critics, then it's not hard to see.

yes i am tired of the mayweather fans who think he is unbeatable and the greatest thing ever. they need to watch some real fighters who give the fans there moneys worth and arent afraid to fight the best. Is that guy in your avi with the green t-shirt and red glove on supposed to be the best?

All of yall keep claiming he is not fighting the best well who are the so called best fighters he is not fighting. YAll love Hatton and say he is one of the best they fight Dec. 8. Mosley turned him down 3 times (2 times last year). People say he didn't fight Tyszu well he lost to Hatton. Casamayor lost to Frietas and Frietas and PBF couldn't or just didn't make a fight. List the so called best he is not fighting. PLEASE and be realistic.

Haters are a good thing. If people aren't hating on you, you're not doing all that you should be doing. This goes for EVERYONE, forget Mayweather, EVERYONE.

as long as mayweather keeps copying toney and doesnt retire he may be able to be the best ever if he fight 10 more years.. if not hes relaly a never was thtat great cuz he never fought anybody great then again i dont think hes a tough enough man mentally like toney and other great fighters to fight the best

Typical case of "im rich and dont know how to act" There are plenty of past and present millionaires in the sport, yet u dont see any of them acting like a complete ass the way Floyd does. I remember during an interview with Brian Kenny, Brian asked Floyd a question that he felt uncomfortable with, and Floyd responds with something along the lines of "Brian, i make millions. What do u make? I make more in one night than you would in your whole career" LOL. The question had absolutely NOTHING to do with money, yet Floyd feels the need to use his financial status to defend himself. His fanclub, also known as the "Floydboyz" would say that its all an act. Thats bullshit! The Floyd that we see on camera, is the real Floyd Mayweather. A brash, classless, insecure man

Yeah Floyd is a three division champ and a five division world titleholder. Just as Hatton is a legit champ at one weight and a titleholder at another. I make the distinction with everyone.
