Can anyone explain why there is some much hate for Ricky Hatton or for that matter Floyd Mayweather.
I mean this is going to one of the biggest fights of the decade and yet many on here cannot help themselves???
I'm British and obviously like Hatton but I understand his flaws and accept them, he is a messy fighter but exciting and has a none stop style that keeps you glued to his fights. Outside the ring he is an approachable, respectful and likable guy. How can he be hated?
Mayweather based on my limited knowledge of the guy is flashy, brash and a bit arrogant but there is no getting away from his immense talent and ability.
Others in the past have had similar traits I recall Ali hitting a toy gorilla in the lead up to a Foreman fight etc so again why all the hate. for this particular guy?
This has the potential to be an all time great fight.
Its a youth thing more than anything , most of the guys that come out with the flat insults are very young and driven by EGO and they havent out grown the mines better attitude and all this macho bullshit , life will sort that out for them over time but the anonymity of the internet makes them 10 ft tall .
That would explain about 75% of it. Congrats Rod, we agree on something. The other 25% is misinterpreted as "hate" when it's actually legitimate debate by knowledgable boxing people.
I'm new to this ite as well and recently got into watching the sport as well, I never liked watching sports but that's the thing about boxing it definately brings out lots of emotions from the fans. I love the adrenalin rush I get from watching a good fight. I haven't seen Hatton fight but I hear he's good and can't wait to watch. I hope its better than the Da La Hoya v/s Mayweather fight I was disappointed. I think that's what we like about it the agression and adrenalin we feel in our society today that tends to be muffled and frowned upon so I say let that ager and agressionout and enjoy a good fight, talk your trash.
I don't dislike either fighter.
I do match up styles and ability and now I have an idea of who I think will win.
Of course nothing is for certain but I highly doubt my predictions are wrong.
I don't hate Mayweather. I can't hate someone I don't actually know in reality, as hate is such a strong emotion.
I just want him to die in the ring. Purely for comedy value. Or at least be cabbaged. I'm not fussy.
Man that shit is uncalled for you piece of shit. Watch what you wish for because it could happen to you bitch. I hate to see people type tough shit and hide behind their computer.
That my whole point. In the majority of the threads I have read, posted in the last few weeks they seem to lead the argument so that it starts with 'hate'.
For example I wont name names but one thread was named 'Ricky Hatton just soiled himself' another was 'Ricky Hatton Guiness.... and Greed'
There are many many more.
Those threads cannot possibly be taken seriously. Like i said, its just stupid male dumbass fun.

Its just a bit of fun.
People here are obviously passionate about the sport, and all of this bullshit is just part of the build up.
Both of these fighters are polar opposites, and their fans therefore tend to go on the attack rather than just support their fighter.
I dont think anyone loses any sleep over what is being said in these threads.
Its fairly obviuos that people are just bored and killing time before the fight actually takes place. Its typical internet bullshit. Face to face things would be said very differently.
There is no real hatred. :boxing:
Its the same with every sport in fact for most things.
Older people will swear blind that the Summers were better in their day.
Same with boxers, we look back with fondness at the old fighters because either we have forgotten what they were really like or we only know them from what others have told us.
I think Celtic_Warrior is shocked to see any hate for Hatton to be honest as he is not the sort of guy or fighter you would expect to receive any. Although hate is too strong a word.
Hatton could win Mayweather but it a small possiaqblitiy. He must use alot of energy and put Mayweather on the rope clinch abit as well get bodyshots. But I dont think he is going to do that way.
I think people will be suprise to see Hatton improve even if he is losing effort because Mayweather will make him fighter harder and better on the level competition.
Ricky Hatton is a cool person and Mayweather is a cool villian :D Good hypen by both fighter at the end most of the thing is nothing personal between each other. People say they hate each other I dont think so they hypen the fight which every fight must do to gain alot of money from the fight.
Another great example is Man United and NY Yankees Micheal Suchmaker and many other top sportmen only few are liked

first off, welcome.you got to understand that there are alot of petty people here, very bitter, who actually think belittling a fighter or another poster makes them cooler or tougher, most people here i'm afraid to say are pricks on this site.
Because people hate the best and want to bring him down.
Ali was hated in his time as same as Whitaker was hated.
Just wait after few year of retirment peolpe would say he was a great fighter human nature.
I notice just because a person is old school fighter then he is automatically better than today's fighters

It's got completely out of hand.
I think people find PBF classless in the way he insults people he say's it like he means it. But Ali while also saying some tasteless things said them with a smile and most people realized he never meant it thus it was more accepted. Although he was hated by a lot of people at the time, partly because he was the first to do it and people were not sure to make of it. Ha Ha It sounds like I'm contradicting myself.
I think people tend to forget how hated Ali was early in his career. People were put off by his arrogance and "greatest" talk. It wasn't till they realized oh shit he is pretty damn good and that it was mostly an act, that they warmed up to him. Maybe Mayweather is trying to follow in Ali's footsteps.
Personally I have no problem with criticism of a fighter I am a fan of.Alot of things said are outlandish and are just made to discredit people that work hard for the positions they are in and people take some things WAY to seriously. Can't we have an educated debate without someone calling someone else a nuthugger or a hater or a ?

No, but you can be happy with the fact that the gullible minds of some new fans here won't have to go throught that shit.
Ay joe post in the other thread about the best 140 pounder in the world. I want your view on something.
It's your job to call someone a nuthugger when he acts like one.
Do you get paid for it? Do you get any prizes or awards for it? If so where can you sign up I like that money.

There's a lot of posters on here who don't know that much about the sport, so they are limited in what they can speak of....
They're young guys, so hopefully they'll pick up on things with time. One thing I was guilty of when I was a kid, was the inability to separate my dislike for a fighter & his actual abilities. I overrated the fighters I liked, while underrating the ones I did not like (especially if it was a real rival to one of my boys). I have become much more objective over time.
Thats true in the main, but some of these posters are not young guys.
