"I feel he'll fight, at least, about 5 more fights," Roger said. "The reason I say that is if he gets by Ricky Hatton, there's still Shane Mosley out there. There's still Miguel Cotto out there. There's still a De La Hoya rematch out there. If Kostya Tszyu came back and got a couple of wins, he could be in line. Floyd is still only 30 years old. There are alot fights out there for him."
The Ring, January 2008
Whatever.
I just think the idea of him fighting Tszyu is ridiculous. He'd totally whip his ass all over the ring and I don't even think a prime Tszyu could deal with Floyd.
That would be a fucking massacre. Tszyu (insert all the paragraphs about how good of a fighter he was, right hand, yaddi yadda,) was far too limited to deal with Floyd because his defense is fucking suspect.
To avoid punches he does that sticking the arms out and pushing the opponent away thing. lol Floyd would fucking uppercut his ass all night long.

Let's think about that:
no names = no big money.
names = money. At a lower weight. Easier fights. Where his power still carries.
What would YOU do?
I dont think he can afford to lose anymore fights...not saying he will but his career could end with another loss.

What would YOU do?you gotta understand zab judah is a fucking idiot.
Forrest would for sure beat him. Spinks might beat him in a rubber match too. Bigger slicksters with more power.
Not to mention Forrest is just better than Judah.
i heard forrest was moving to 160,or something like that......
yeah but there are no names in the 154 division.he sees it for the taking.

To be honest, the only fighters left for PBF to fight are: Mosley and Cotto. He does not have to prove anything by fighting the likes of Williams or Margarito.
I agree.. Anything else would just be for money..........
Fine, Cintron/Williams would be a good fight, THEN can we see Mayweather fight Cotto or Williams or Cintron or ANYONE not with a walker?
Yeah, De La Hoya is better than Margarito, Williams and Cintrion.

I suspect Floyd will stay down, maybe even 140, and try to finish his career with an exclamation point, instead of what we've been getting. But, having said that, 135 IMO was the last time he had comparable power. And, even then he had plenty of tough fights.
But the expectations of the boxing fan is not "Floyd needs to beat Hatton, Witter and Juan Diaz". The expectation is that "Floyd needs to beat Cotto, Mosley and Williams".
So, in that context, I don't believe that cleaning out 140 would get FMJ any props.
If Zab was smart, HE would go to 140. There are great fights at JWW for Zab:
Witter: a redemption fight, and a big name for Junior. And a belt for zab.
Malignaggi: "The Battle for Brooklyn". And they have trash-talked each other.
Salita: When's the last time you remember two Jewish fighters going at it?
yeah but there are no names in the 154 division.he sees it for the taking.
I think so, too. But I also get the feeling that Floyd going to dominate LW/JWW would earn him little to no credit among fans or experts. The bar is just set at a different level.
Mira, mijito...Bojado and Forbes fought a JWW bout the other day. Panchito was 159, and Forbes was 156. All these guys are gaining two weight classes after the weigh-in. But if PBF fought those guys, it would be perceived as "unfair".

valid points, i couldnt comment on potential bouts with mosely or cotto until after their bout next month, i think pbf handles williams easily

floyds frame is quite small and i think he'd fit in perfect at light-welter, hed still come in lighter than most other lw's on fight night
That's your opinion and I respect that. Nothing wrong with taking on the challenge though don't you think? All the greats have had losses and that won't stop pbf from his quest to be an ATG.
Big Paulie,
What if PBF dropped back to his best and natural weights? Post-Cotto.
Kinda like Shane has done.
id like to see that, id like to see pbf at lw, of course his power would tell more. id also like to know if pbf could make lightweight easily enough. shane is a better boxer slimmed down, unoubtedly floyd would be to

but to retire undefeated, he would join a very elite few fighters.
pbf is past his best now, he's nowhere near as good as he was at the lower weights. he wouldnt get passed the four previously mentioned fighters without losing

it would take at least 3 years to get thru that list of opponents by which time pbf would be well past his best (he is already) y risk it? he beat hrnandez a year after goin pro and 4 the wbc and beat a list of world class opponents since (a few no hopers in between granted) he should go after hatton. undefeated.
He would never hear the end of it if he retired. He might not have the reflexes he once had but he has the technical ability to allow him to claim victory even when he is far past his best. He will fight 2 fights a year from now on and in 2 and 1/2 years all the talk can be settled and he can STILL be undefeated by that time.
He won't leave until most of the questions are answered. I think 5 fights would be more than enough to do so. Mosley, Cotto, Hatton, winner of Cintron/Williams/Margarito, and a rematch in one of those would be more than enough leave all questions answered. If you can't tell I am amped to even hear this news.

after hatton would be a great time to get out, there will always be a cotto, williams, if he beats them there will only be a new generation calling pbf out and eventually if he carries on he will be beaten. i think floyds approaching an age where his reflexes and speed will start to fade, if he retired now he would have his faculties, millions in the bank and looks untouched, a great advert for the sport
