^^I mean, it is amusing, but for it to have become the huge, internet boxing sensation that it's become, deemed by many as the funniest KO of all time, is something that I don't understand. You type "Kosta Tszyu" into the google search bar, and it's the first thing that pops up in the results. The man (Judah) got caught and got up too quick, it's that simple. Yes, he looked really awkward falling back down, but obviously his equilibrium was gone. I'm just curious as to what aspect of this TKO is so funny. Surely there have been funnier knock downs/outs, no?
nah its not a rule i remember watching that fight and they kept going on about it saying it was a rule, but whan they asked nady he said it wasnt a rule and i have seen a few fights were fighters go down twice and are aloud to continue.
Well.. I still think that it's a rule. I'm pretty sure it is. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised, though.
It's a double KO, and it's the funniest KO of all time, when Judah's pathetic career is all said and done, all he will be remembered for is this hilarious KO. Judah is the black Andrew Golota. :lol1:
I'm not even sure that it's an official rule more so than an unspoken agreement as to the proper course of action..
I'm pretty sure it's a rule. I heard Al Berstein make the claim, I do believe and he's a pretty knowledgable fellow.
Some states don't follow the rule. Some sanctioning bodies don't either. Not sure where I even heard the rule, I just know.. in most cases, it exists. It might be a newer rule too, as rules have gotten tighter over the years, like with all sports.

Here are a couple examples of some other funny KOs.. lol..

This KO is just funny that it's RIGHT AFTER the guy that is GETTING KO'd throws a 99 punch combo. lol.

Do you know when/why this rule came about? When Tyson fought Trevor Berbick and knocked him down in the second berbick fell, got up and fell again and Mills Lane was still counting.
Was this an error by Lane, or was the rule not in effect then?

I think because Zab had that 'thug' image and was quite a loud mouth prick his 'dance' was celebrated more than it would of been if it had not been Zab.
Zab's equilibrium gets all fucked up when he gets hurt. He moonwalked against Cotto three times, and danced against Baldy.
Cotto's the same way, to a lesser extent.
Funny thing about that is that Zab literally almost did it against Cotto, I saw it. He had to hold on to the ropes with one of his hands to prevent his legs from wobbling, like "nope, fuck that, not this time".. lol
lol...it looks like a drunk guy after doing some stupid thing saying..."hey, im ok, im ok, im not drunk"...and then PAFF...he does it again xDDDD
btw, i think zab could have continue...but rules are rules.
(i just found out that thing about falling twice from the same punch =P)

this is the best version
i'm a fan of judah sure it was funny but people have to let it go now.
How do we let it go? Psychoanalysis? Hypnosis? A crack on the head to cause amnesia? Another big mouth got his ass knocked out. That's why we remember it.
I think it's how he freezed for a second saying something to the ref in that pose, and that look on his face, then just losing his legs collapsing. If he fell down and got up, and just fell down again I don't think it would have been that funny.
NO what makes it funny is that, if you saw that happen, say in a street fight......
Someone gets knocked down and then tries to get up and does that stupid ass dance, and falls back down.. you'd laugh, and you know it.
Of course I would, just not for 6 years. Though I see what you mean by popularity and notoriety..
I don't think it should have been stopped at that point. It probably wouldn't have made a difference but you never know. The ref should have waited to see if Zab could have defended himself.
Judah's fault for trying to get up so fast though.
Rules are rules. If you fall down twice from the same punch, you automatically lose. The ref. doesn't make 'em.
LOL.. Cedric is what actually made it funny for me. Before hand, it was only slightly amusing.
So Zab's infamy is what forces people to laugh so hard? I get it..

It's funny because he looks ridiculous. Plus, he (in some ways he deserves it) gets hated on. Also, MAYBE there are funnier knockout, in terms of complete humor, but in this big of a fight and this recent and this popular, nope.
Agreed.....Judah was undefeated and projected to be a superstar. Then, bam! He ran into Kostya's right hand. But, at least he had the balls to risk it.
because cedric really put the nail in the coffin by exclaiming that you should never play with matches.
