Does anyone know how much Alfonso Gomez is making for his fight with Ben Tackie tomorrow night? I'm just curious what kind of purse money he's getting nowadays. I read on the LA Times earlier that Sergio Mora is getting $300,000 for his fight tomorrow, so how much as Alfonso getting?
Mora is fighting a fighter that was a prospect fighter before he lost Ayala was looking to be a top guy.
Gomez is fighter the fighter with the name, but Tackie is not in his prime anymore. I wouldnt be surprised to see Gomez tko Tackie thought i doubt it. Tackie always comes in shape and willing to fight. Should be a good fight.
I think Gomez will win tomorrow night, by decision. It should be a very tough fight though. I'm not too sure on this, but I don't think Tackie has ever been stopped....or even knocked down. I could be wrong, either way though, you know he'll be tough and ready to fight. :boxing:
why is gomez the main event when sergio is the contender winner?

The card was already scheduled with Gomez as the main event. Mora was added after the cancellation of the Sept. 16th PPV where he was suppose to fight Kassim Ouma.
I really doubt that article is accurate. Gomez got only $200,000 for his fight with Gatti, and there's no reason that Sergio would get that kind of money for essentially a tune-up fight, especially since his popularity has taken a hit after the Taylor fiasco. The Contender ppl pay well, but I don't think that well.
I had my doubts too, but the LA Times is a pretty respectable newspaper. Still, $300K for Mora's fight tomorrow night seems like too much.
I was wondering how much Gomez made in the Gatti fight too...$200K is good for him. My wife was asking me earlier how much I thought he made in that fight and I told her probably around $250K and that he'd probably be making about $100-$150K for his fight with Tackie. I figured for being the main event of the card though, that he'd be making the most money. So I was just wondering if his purse was higher since Mora was getting $300K...according to the article anyway.
