tough choice. even though rahman lost to ruiz and has less wins against top contenders, he once was the true heavyweight champ of the world, knocking out lennox lewis.
one thing is for sure, they both achieved more than quitali quitschko.
true I think ruiz was a better fighter but Rahman will probably be remembered more than ruiz because of that 1 big win.
Only if McCall hadn't done the same thing previously to Lewis.
Ruiz was a true champion...Rahman was a one punch wonder.
Ruiz get no respect here..he was as good of a champion as Bird was, even better in my book.
ruiz has an excellent resume as far as today's hws are concerned.
As ugly as his style is, Ruiz was a valid champ, title holder.. whatever you want to call it...
Rahman was NEVER able to defend his title.
End of story!
You nailed it. Took the words right out.

They're both the same type of fighter. Average on their best day who got lucky in their biggest fights against an opponet who wasn't training seriously. I would place Rahman slightly higher than Ruiz but that's probably because John Ruiz is the only fighter who's ever put me to sleep aside from Jermain Taylor (when he fought Cory Spinks).
