Well, that's just a whole load of fuck all.
Anyway, I'm warming to Kessler. Unlike his countrymen on here he seems a classy guy. I hope he recovers well after this fight to dominate the division.
Well SHB - When i look back at how you and a few other brits conducted yourselves from my first posts on this forum - you should never ever pass judgement about other ppls class or lack thereof. You clearly are completely without class yourself.
As for the mentioned names. Think of them what you want, but they were given as a simple answer to a simple question.
The more Joe gets hit, the more preasure he will aply! The thing is with Joe he hates anyone getting the better of him. If Kessler won round 2-3 then in the fourth onwards Joe would be pulling out all the stops, And I do believe we will see the best Of Calzaghe in this fight.
I will be ringside for this one! The wait for this fight has dragged, But theres only a few weeks to go now, God I cant wait..
This may be it:
Ingen panik trods feber hos Kessler
Offentliggjort 04.10.07 kl. 12:06

Plugged into a translator it says there was a "feber" (fever?) problem with Kessler but there is no panic in the camp and it has been "fixed".
Hmmm...who knows...there are several articles in Danish on Kessler almost daily here:

Search "Kessler".
Kessler's ill? When was this mentioned? I don't want any excuses.
I'm worried about the lack of news from Calzaghe's camp. He's usually suffered some form of mild break by now.
Take it from what it's worth, someone in Dan Rafael's chat last Friday said that the Danish press reported last week that Kessler missed a week of training because he was down with the flu. If anyone wants to try to dig up an article from a Danish website, that would be great...I'll see what I can find.

If Calzaghe wins this fight, he solidifies himself as the best ever at 168 lbs, in my opinion. There is nothing else he could have done, I agree wholeheartedly with Peder, not fighting RJJ was not his fault alone.
Let's just hope this fight happens, amidst reports of Kessler's illness and Cal's track record of training camp injuries...
And now we are back to discussing who they fought? Fuck that.
The only guy I find missing on Joe résumé over the past ten years is RJJ, and you can hardly blame Joe alone for that fight not being made.
Since Kessler got his belt, he has fought the very best he could get.
Those who still want to argue, at least tell us who else you miss on their record.
All that matters is the fight ahead.
I don't dissagree that Calzaghe has overall fought better opposition, but only marginally so. (looking at more recent opposition, Kessler has the edge IMO)The same goes for what other ppl are saying. Most who are being hard on Calzaghe aren't quite saying he's done worse than Kessler. They're just saying that given his much longer tittle run, it's surprising he's not more ahead than that.
If it seems to you that Joe is getting less respect than Kessler - it is perhaps because ppl expect more of Calzaghe, given his 10 year run.
i think partly due to him not fighting so much is that his hands need time to heal. he's had over 100 amateur fights and 40+ pro fights.with hte amount of punches he throws i think it's caused him some long term damage to his hands. that with a divorce aswell.
both are good but joe has the advantage against kessler for sure. joe has a good jab but kessler better.
Beyer, Lucas, Siaca, Cesar Green and Thobela.
Well, that's just a whole load of fuck all.
Anyway, I'm warming to Kessler. Unlike his countrymen on here he seems a classy guy. I hope he recovers well after this fight to dominate the division.
Jabs are notoriously ineffective against southpaws. Add in the fact that Kessler lacks to footwork to come in from angles, and you have a recipe for disaster.
BULLSHIT
An orthodox jab will often be used against a southpaw, in order to settle for other punches when the southpaw tries to get in. In other words it is usually displayed as bait, because the southpaw will fell safe to move when he has evaded the jab.
And
Kessler has EXCELLENT fundamentals:jab, straight right, left hook. Three weapons which are awesome v a southpaw, and allow Kessler to control JoeCalzaghe's speed. Kessler also has an excellent sense of distance and is able to control it. This could be vital
Kessler is a calm and cool customer in the ring. Andrade and Beyer are not Calzaghe, but they throw a lot of punches and Kessler's smooth and orthodox style allows him to stay in control. He will weather Calzaghe's flurries early on until he starts taking away Joe's motivation with some straight and stiff shots right down the middle. Kessler will not be throwing wide and clubbing shots like the over-muscled amateur Lacy. People forget that Kessler's shots, especially his jab and right hand are LIKE LASER GUIDED MISSILES. They are truly impressive and there is no way that Calzaghe can avoid these shots for 12 rounds, no way do I see it happening. Combine this fact with Joe's lack of one punch KO power and it spells a win for the basic, but steadfast Kessler.
Kessler by UD.
No ESB is full of retards. Your welcome here blocky. I laugh at their aussie forum. All the aussies hate the aussie fighters. ESB is home to dead shits and the worst boxing forum members on the planet.
You will newer welcome blocky here,if you know that bullshit he has postet on ESB about Mundine
Anyone who has even the remotest knowledge of Calzaghe's career knows he turned from a banger into a boxer, primarily due to the fact his hands are now pretty shit.
Can he still bang? Of course he can. If history tells us anything it's that if Kessler manages to tag Calzaghe then he will come out swinging.
Good stuff. This should be intense!
Joe is fucking old. I am going with the upset. Kessler beats his ass and wins a UD.
I don't mean to butt in because I think this fight is going to be good and it's too close to call; but Pavlik blows both away. Sorry, Euros, that's my opinion.
