Tonights fight was a perfect example of the difference between the hearts of Morales & Barrera.
No way Morales would have cruised through the fight. I think if MAB had have exchanged more with Pac it would have been a better thing for him.
Barrera's effort reminded me of a typical disappointing DLH performance.
I'm not a MAB hater, I just think he sold him self very short.
You are one of the biggest idiots ever to grace Boxingscene.
FLOYD HUGS LIKE JOHN RUIZ???
That sentence said it all right there.
hahahaha thanks for making me laugh.. hahahaha
please read and analyze first before posting....hahahahaha
Barrera looked like he was in there for a paycheck. I mean he was fighting good at times.. Sort of like in spurts and what not. He did what he had to do. You can't blame him for boxing. Also saying you're gonna retire before a fight is self explanatory. He gave us a good career and a great trilogy with Morales.
Both Morales and Barerra are great fighters. Morales is the warrior out of the two. Barrera just went from warrior to boxer. It happens.
Everything he said. The only thing I'd like to add is that coming from a big Barrera fan, I'm glad he decided to box and stay away. I'm disappointed that he didn't do enough to win which he may have been able to do if he let his hands go, but at the same time I feel relieved.
He's already had a brain operation and has been in 3 fights with Morales that have taken a serious toll on him, I'd rather him go out on a stinker without being hurt than risk his longterm health just to satisfy me. He's satisfied me enough over the years, I'd rather have him be able to take care of his family now.
homeboy that started this thread hit it right on.......Morales went out like a mexican LEGEND goes out.......he was simply outgunned but never backed up.....watching "the will to survive" made me appreciate "el terrible" even more........
You're not obviously. Because if you watched the fight you'd be stupid not to notice that MAB was firing airballs all night and Pac just kept dodging them
And to think he was the agressor all night.
That's boxing for you.
Take a pill.
Idiot.
Use some brains will ya.
Fake Floyd doesn't get hit because.
1. His opponents are way sub-par and handpicks them.
2. He throws very few punches and hugs like John Ruiz.
You really are dumb are you.
A while ago I made you read a quote from MAB. Seems your brain quickly forgets. Here it is. I typed it in caps so you won't have any problems reading.
"I'm very happy I didn't get knocked out by Pac".
Boxing and running are different things dude. When will the likes of you ever learn.
Boxing is when you fight avoiding the shots but AT THE SAME TIME YOU THROW EFFECTIVE PUNCHES.
Don't forget the term... EFFECTIVE PUNCHES.... I hope you read this well. It's in all caps you know.
Running is when you imitate ala Fake Floyd running like a chicken THE WHOLE FIGHT. THROWS VERY FEW PUNCHES AND NONE OF THEM EFFECTIVE AND YOU DON'T HAVE ANY INTENTION OF ATTACKING OR PUTTING TOGETHER PUNCHES TO BEAT YOUR OPPONENT. YOU JUST RUN FOR RUNNING'S SAKE.
Now dude. I typed it mostly in caps so idiots like you will learn from now on.
Or if you still don't understand that. Then I'm sorry.
You are now officialy.... BEYOND IDIOTIC.
If such a term could exist.
First of all, people who just want to insult are using insults as a substitute for there lack of knowledge and understanding of what transpired in this fight. Barerra never ran, that's just plain nonsense. Barerra's problem the first time around was that he chose to brawl with Pacman and got stopped because of it. When Marquez fought Pacman and dominated him from the 3rd round on, he boxed, the same with Morales in their second fight.
Any "idiot" could look at the fight tapes and see that the blue print for beating Pac is there, you just have to have a profficient enough guy in able to do it. Barerra had the right game plan going in but Pac was just too young and too fast for Barerra. All those wars have finally caught up with him and he just couldn't beat a younger faster fighter in his prime.
Barerra could have come out and just stood toe 2 toe with Pac and gotten KO'd or taken a beating but that would have been stupid. Barerra is not a stupid fighter OR person. As a matter of fact, he dropped out of law school to become a fighter because he loved the sport so much.
People just want to see KO's and I understand that but to the avid fight fan like myself, I knew Barerra would not come out and brawl with Pac, it just would not have made sense.
Idiot.
Use some brains will ya.
Fake Floyd doesn't get hit because. .

Dude. That's quite funny analysis.
Everyone knows that by end of round 10 MAB was way behind on all scorecards and yet all he did was run.
That's not fighting.
That's running.
in fairness to MAB, he did have brief exchanges w/ PAC throughout the fight and actually i think he landed the cleaner shots on some of it. thing is, he can't sustain it and drops back, does the jab, which mostly missed or countered by pac.
man, some of you sound as stupid as Larry Merchant. I know in all of your eyes MAB had no chance and should have just swung for the fences and gotten KO'd by Pacman but guess what......he was actually trying to win.
The biggest criticism of him in his first fight was that he brawled too much with Pac and that he allowed himself to be taken out of his game plan. This time it was about 4 years too late for him because his reflexes just didn't allow him to win this fight.
Barerra didn't go out with a wimper he just tryed to fight intelligently and take the approach that gave him the best chance to win. I know you amature fight fans just want to see a KO but a fighter actually goes in there to win, not just give you a highlight.
Every time he tryed to bang with Pac, he was just getting beat to the punch and would have eventually gotten KO'd. He fought smart with his head but his body just couldn't do what it had done so many times in the past.
Its pathetic, but the thought of someone actually trying to avoid punches is hard for some people to fathom. These fools use the same sad excuse when it comes to Mayweather. Yeah criticize a guy because he doesn't want to get hit in the face.
I disagree with what a lot of people are saying here! I thought Morales thrid fight with PAC was embarassing! It was bordering on pathetic! He was beaten to a pulp, then shook his head knowing he couldnt win!
Boxing is about more than brawling! I like Morales, dont get me wrong! He is a credit to the sport and one of the modern greats! But I prefer the likes of Barrera! He has brains! Barrera knew fine rightly that he couldnt take the fight to Manny! You can tell that Barrera also knows very well that physically he just cant do it anymore! Barrera took what he had and did his best! He tried to box, stay away from manny's left! That was the only way he stood a chance!
People are overlooking the fact that manny didnt go for barrera! he stood off the whole fight! I dont buy this BULLSHIT that the fight was shit because barrera was in counterpunch, retreating mode! Manny was quite content for that too happen! I think Barrera was banking on Manny coming for him! Had he done so, Barrera would have had more opportunities to counter and would probably have looked better!
But well done to Manny! He used his fucking head for once! Him and Roach knew that Barrera could only win by counter punching, picking his shots when Manny committed himself! Manny didnt oblige leaving Barrera with no gameplan! What could he do- INITIATE EXCHANGES WITH MANNY???? THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SUICIDE!
PEOPLE ARE GIVING MANNY A FREE RIDE HERE! BARRERA IS GETTING A LOT OF SHIT! THE MAN DID THE ONLY THING HE COULD DO! AND I DONT BLAME HIM FOR THAT! IM GLAD HE DID THAT THAN GET HIS ASS HANDED TO HIM LIKE ERIK!
what do u mean manny didnt go for barrera? that is just plain dumb. you just got used to seeing the whirlwind manny go for more punches before, and when he averages a little less than usual, which is still a lot more than others normally do, you immediately noticed it. damn, manny's output was 2.5 times more than barrera and still a lot more than what regular boxers do, heck a lot lot more than pbf does. learn to accept that manny is trying to evolve into a more complete boxer, he and roach knows his speed and power wont last.

taking a look with your ava i remember him as a wariior boxer!! leave boxing as a warrior!
but barrera is a warrior then, became a boxer.. see what i mean??? he leaves with unaccomplished... proof he cant beat pac in a fight's fight..
:D:D:D

Man you are a fool ! Barrera has given us some of the best fights you will ever see. Yet you discredit him by saying that. He doesn't need the money. He could probably wipe his ass with you whole families annual income. This guy has put it all on the line. He didn't have too fight PAC but he did. I'm pretty sure if he chose to fight someone else he would have made about the same amount. You are just a narrow minded son of a bitch he ain't happy unless someone dies in the ring. How about you put some gloves on and climb in their big boy and see what you are made of.

I totally agree. I expected more of a future hall of famer.
He wasn't willing to go out with a bang.
Instead he went out with a whimper.
I have a lot more respect for Morales, who let it
all hang out everytime he fought.
It's because Pac has become smart.
Take a look at the punch stats and you'll see it was MAB who got outboxed big time.
MAB landed less than 20 percent overall while Pac still landed 50 percent of his power punches.
Simply put Pac kept hitting Mab while Mab was firing on airballs.
Those idiot critics who said that Pac has no defense... EAT YOUR OWN WORDS ONCE AGAIN IDIOT CRITICS. Pac has been the agressor all night and yet Mab didn't even land 20 percent of his jabs and punches.
NOW THAT'S DEFENSE FOR YOU.
I wasn't bagging out his defense.
Dude. What fight did you watch?
I suggest you watch it again.
PAC opened up 1 nasty cut on MAB's face in the 11th by just a single flush shot.
Dude get some brains.
Here's what MAB said so you'll get enlightened.
"I'm very happy I didn't get knocked out by Pac".
Intiende amigo?
In comparison to many of PAC's other fights he didn't look anywhere near as dangerous as we've seen before.
morales was all war. imo he hardly thinks about himself looking beaten up in every fight he had because on in his mind a war is what most fight fans wanted. no wonder why many people love him. so for me morales = war.
Doesnt matter, if Barrera engaged more he would eventually get TKOed in the later round
I doubt that, Pac didn't really look like hurting Barrera last night.
Morales has the tools in his arsenal to trade with Pac and have success. He has the taller frame, a great right hand, a more powerful jab. He throws straighter punches than Barrera, who's wide uppercuts and hooks will always be too slow for Pac's sharp straight punches.
He just matches up better.
