it was a close fight just because it wasnt a split decision doesnt mean it was one sided williams was hurt on the latter rounds and marg was never hurt williams was in control that whole fight. even when he was "hurt." guess what? he wasnt close to going down either and he never did a chicken dance. marg looked like a racoon at the end of the fight. he weas the one wearing sunglasses at the post fight presser. like Lefthooktothebody said "williams swept the first 6 rounds and marg won 2-3 rounds in the last 6 rounds." explain to me how it was close again? gimmie some reasons too:owned:

hbo's budget is used up for 2007 so he has to look elsewhere. it isn't easy as hbo provides the biggest fights and paydays.

At this rate, Margarito and Williams might as well rematch each other sooner than later. The only name I heard linked to a future Margarito fight is Golden Johnson (whose name alone gives him a good shot at a porno career once he's done with boxing). If that's as good as it gets for the time being, then just fight Williams in January or some shit. Clottey's bitching that nobody wants to fight him. Collazo sees the road to the WBA title as the path of least resistance (even though he gets pummeled at the end, whether Cotto's still champ or it's a Shane rematch). I had to laugh at his hack of a PR rep bragging on Luis' interview on another site, where he all but admitted that he won't fight Clottey. "there's no money in the fight." why is that, luis? Your own promoter didn't bother with a bid. If Williams-Margarito II gets signed for early next year, then I believe Cintron-Clottey would get inked soon thereafter. If so, then you honestly can't ask for any better series of fights than the welterweight division not only has to offer, but is actually making happen. I also think a Berto-Zab Judah finds its way into the mix sometime next year. but back on target, with all of the waiting, Williams is really cutting his options down to a bare minimum. It's really down to Clottey or a Margarito rematch.

williams should start getting title defense and knock heads and stay busy he is not at the top yet, just cuz he beat margarito doesn't mean he can now fight cotto, mayweather just like that, he still got to fight many nore fighters and convinve the world he is here to stay, he shoul be b4 the end of this year, if williams is looking just for prie fights he ain't gonna last long Margarito would have had a hard time fighting Mayweather to begin with... only Cotto was willing to give him a shot to jump up in the division. Williams isn't going to get any better treatment. I really think Collazo would be a good fight to keep his status up. Maybe Clottey, but I think he is better than Collazo, and has no more name status so... I think Cotto will fight him, but he is obviously tied up right now. His best bet is to wait for the Cotto/Mosley fight, hope Cotto wins, and pray that Cotto wants to fight him instead of Mayweather, but that's not going to happen anyway, so... You know a fighter's prospects are shitty when his best bet is praying for the impossible to happen.
