I still can't beleive Taylor lost!

I completely expected it. He has no solid base of defense. He doesn't cover up well. And he backs up into corners. I knew he Pavlik would win by KO. I wasn never flat out hating Taylor. I've watched him closely since the two fights with Hopkins. I found that he can get hurt, he was against B-Hop. And I found that he is an easy target, Winky showed this. And that he tires out, trying to KO Ouma showed me how he gets gassed.

I guess is the way he was destroyed. He was brutally Ko'd which I thought would never happen..................at least any time soon I was surprised at THAT too. I thought he'd get gurt but hold on for a decision.

Yeah I have some crow to eat, I didn't think Pavlik was really anythign special. I really thought that in the 2nd round too! Haha. Yeah if it ends there, and it nearly did, then Pavlik would have heard all the great white hope talk and then wouldn't have been in the mix for a big fight again. Well he weathered the storm, hats off to him. Taylor ate straight right hands all night. His hads were way too low. I was surprised his defense looked so weak. You have to feel that Bernard Hopkins would have found those holes and exploited them if they were so apparent. Thats why I figured Pavlik couldn't win. How was he gonna do what Bernard couldn't do? Well he did. I think Taylor will hopefully come back hungrier and will listen to Manny in the gym and we can do this again in the spring. Great drama last night as we hadn't had a fight in a while. Plus this showed Showtime up big time last night. Showtime is showing 4 fighters most people hadn't ever heard of (we have obviously) while HBO is putting on a FOTy candidate.

Damn, he beat the legend Hopkins twice, beat Winky Wright and lost to Pavlik by brutal KO. I really didn't see that coming. Sure, he put Miranda away with ease but Miranda is a one dimensional non defensive fighter. But, Taylor? You know u fuckers were pretty fkn shocked when Taylor made Pavlik look like shit in the second. Props to Pavlik but, I'm still shocked. I was never a huge Taylor fan but it broke my heart watching the interview in the locker room he was clearly ready to cry with half his face swollen Debateable.......And he did not beat Winky...It was a draw that winky should have won.Just as expected Pavlik KOed Taylor......I will admit I was impressed with Taylor he showed the grit we had'nt seen from him since pre-Hopkins but it just wasn't enough.

Taylor has been overrated for a long time. He was one of HBO's "glitter children" i.e. a fighter with a contract. Look, he got one, if not two gift decisions against an ancient Bernard Hopkins. Drew with an older Winky Wright (who is really a Jr. Middleweight) and then looked pathetic against a collection of Jr. Middleweights and Welterweights. What the hell was so impressive about Taylor? Taylor has so many flaws that even Manny Steward can't fix them all.

But you did realize that Taylor was not rated highly by pundits or posters. It's not like there was this perception that Taylor was a great champ, maybe 15% percent of boxing fans thought that. I too picked Taylor to edge a decision, but I wasn't surprised except maybe with the way he immediately fell apart after getting touched.

There will clearly be a rematch. Taylor made it known that he wants him on his next fight. Maybe well see them again in early 08

If Steve Smogger had stopped the fight in the 2nd round every one would be talking about how Pavlik was over rated and in WAY over his head. I'm glad the referee allowed the fight to continue because now we have a FOTY canditate and Pavlk has made many believers of former nay-sayers.

Never a fan of Taylor's...but RESPECT, he went out on his shield like a warrior, no shame in that!!!

i mean i was suprised too. its just that taylor got caught with a good punch. i know he beat hop twice and drew with winky but pavlik is a completely different fighter. taylor had never fought anyone with pavliks power and stamina. hop and winky fought taylor through the whole fight but later in the rounds they got tired and stopped throwing as many punches. pavlik didnt do that he kept coming which is what i believed played a big part in his victory. i still think taylor is a good fighter no doubt. he just has to do what other champions have in the past and thats bounce back and redeem himself.

I give B hop one of the fights, but he really didn't do enough to win. Why shouldn't I be shocked? Taylor fought difficult fighters and beat them. Pavlik was a bid untested against world class fighters
