Zab Judah is reportedly fighting November 17th in Turks & Caicos!? His opponent is unconfirmed, but I had heard rumors that it is Purnell Gates (14-1). Whoever it is, Zab has made it known he wants the winner of Cotto-Mosely, but i'm sure he would fight hatton if Hatton loses to Mayweather (since Hatton will fight De La Hoya most likely if he beats Mayweather).
Judah is a former undisputed welterweight champion of the world and has the following going for him that keeps getting him these title shots;
-Without a doubt he's one of the most if not, the most controversial fighter in the sport and this is what sells fights. You hear about Zab Judah fighting, you know you better tune in regardless if you like him or not because something crazy may happen and you will miss it. He's a mini Mike Tyson character wise and people can't get enough of it.
-He's a volatile character who has seemingly boundless skills and talents. His combination of speed and power is a rare blend and is a thing of beauty to watch. I myself tune in to watch him just to see those evil looking combinations he throws.
-He's a New York City fighter, nuff said.
-He's got Don King as his promoter.
-He talks funny and looks like Sam Cassell on angel dust.
judah, especially now that he needs money and is in debt is going to be a big recyclable for don king, just watch mark my words because it's already happening................
How are you privy to this? I keep seeing comments like this. How do people know?:ugh:
You thk Zab is gonna get another shot? Just like that? Zab doesn't deserve it. He needs to fight atleast 3 more people and make a comeback. What the fuck it this? Free fights? Im tired of this Zab shit. That man is lucky he has had his chances.
he's a don king fighter, judah is going to get used and abused by don king like 95% of kings fighters. don king recycles the shit out of guys and has no shame in doing it.
judah, especially now that he needs money and is in debt is going to be a big recyclable for don king, just watch mark my words because it's already happening................
The way you said Edwins name in the last post, it seemed like you was saying that Judah fought a fighter that posses a threat in Edwin Vasquez, cause then you came out with history from that ni99a. You feel me? but yea....
But my dude.. You are relying on the past. All of that is the past. We haven't seen a Judah like that ever since. Judah lost to Baldimor.. and on top of that was rocked by him, then faces Floyd... Got the best out of Floyd yea, but still lacked to last and fight the 12 rounds. He needs to raise that punch output! Fights a nobody in Ruben Galavan, gets a NC and then fights Cotto and he broke down. A pressure fighter will get the best out of Zab, thas why I would pick Julio.. Julio tasted defeat and has learned alot, and im telling you Julio will give Judah a run for his money.
Glen Johnson.... YOu can put him in the category of Baldimor.. No one knew who the fuck he was and underestimated him. What happend? Upset.
Trinidad... Yea he has had a layoff, but we know he probaly coming in with some new moves and shit like when he came back with Mayorga.. Tito is gonna apply that pressure man.. It's gonna get to Roy.. Im telling you.. Tito gonna win his first fight in 2008.
Im going to sleep.. I'll check this shit tommorrow and reply if anything.. Im not done!
I feel u dogz it's just I don't view Judah so badly, it's just like Beauty said u know it takes a lot of humility to fall down like that and slowly pick yourself up knowing the WHOLE world is watching, I respect Zab Judah 100% not because I'm some fan but because he deserves it, against Cotto he opened my eyes, he showed me he has a warriors heart, anyone else would have went down but even off of instinct alone he still tried to fight back, had they not stopped the fight he would've kept on trying to do anything possible to stay up, the type of guy you have to kill, I just don't see him being out of the question yet, he still has a chance to make major noise if he can position himself against the right opponent trust and believe, I just think that right now it's too premature to count Zab out like that, the man is still young, still has excellent in ring ability, is a very gifted athlete and is overall blessed to have them capabilities..
I agree with you about the Trinidad fight, I think Tito beats Roy, I think Roy gets hit way too much and with the pressure Trinidad will put on him it might just prove too much for Roy, Trinidad never really got obliterated to the point where he needed help to stand up, Jones has so that will play in effect. I think if Trinidad can catch him with a shot right on the button he can floor him, if he just lets his hands go and doesn't play cat and mouse head hunting all night to a moving target in Jones he can put a hurt in on him, I just think at this point Roy can't take a sledgehammer punch on the button which is exactly what Trinidad will land at least once within those 12 rounds. we may not agree on Judah but we most certainly agree on Cotto and Trinidad.. 100
Brutally loses to Tszyu?
Loses to Spinks.
Loses to Baldomir.
Loses to Mayweather.
Loses to Cotto.
Why does this guy get so many freakin' chances?
and he did not look good against his last opponent Edwin Vazquez and had a no contest with ruben galvan.
he did not deserve to fight cotto i believe and he sure as hell does not deserve to fight the winner nor loser of the 2 big fights coming up.
atleast because of his last performance.....i thought it was horrible
The arrogance some of you have displayed in here is obvious in your opinions and it is hilarious.
None of you with the exception of a few really even seem to understand what you are saying.
Funny.
As for Zab, the man and his "arrogance" may be somewhat under control. He's still fighting. It takes a lot of humility to fall from grace as he did, yet make every attempt at a come back, guns blazing. Give credit where it is due.
yo dogz I never said Edwin Vasquez was a name get it right aight, what I said was he's tough, he ain't no bum yo it's just he ain't no elite fighter, he just a tough guy who can take punches and can give some back and it was Antonio Diaz who beat Spinks, Vasquez had a draw against Diaz who is also a tough motherfucker that went rounds with Margarito before Tony knocked him out. sometimes you need these tune up fights to rebuild your momentum and thats what Judah is doing, positioning himself to make that comeback and yo Joel Julio ain't all that(http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=139301&cat=boxer), you make it seem like he will kill Judah and yet again you wrong, he never faced someone among the likes of Judah with that in ring ability, the Judah who showed up against Spinks would dance circles around this guy all while punching him dead in the face..
we could put some points up if he does fight Joel Julio, I'll put mines on Judah and watch him not fail me, you so enthralled on this "Judah can only go 5 rounds with focus" shit and thats only true to a discretion, Judah has shown the ability to humble himself and get the W off sharp skills, he KO'ed Spinks yo, as much as Cory moves do you know how hard that is to do? open ya eyes homie and realize that Judah is far from done, he's too young to be done yo, thats like saying Glen Johnson was done before he faced Roy Jones Jr or to say he's done right now and thats just fucking stupid, just because you piled up some losses doesn't mean you done yo realize that, I don't know what else to tell you yo it's just funny to me that you feel someone as young as Judah is done yet you picking Trinidad over Roy Jones Jr even after this long lay off and massive ring rust.. I pick Trinidad too but I ain't the one sitting here talking shit on how Judah is done him being extremely active, younger than Tito and possessing more dimensions as a fighter, it's mind boggling.. 100

You see that? That's what I was referring too. About "ya" be making Judah sound like hes GOD because he can win 5 round fights automatically. Everyone says that shit. Im tired of hearing it.
Edwin Vasquez are you serious? He beat Cory Spinks in 1998! You think that makes him a name? Ruben Galavan? These are the guys you fight after fight champions?
I never said that fight on ESPN is bad, it's just the people he chooses to fight, or his camp. Either way same shit. Judah is done. I bet you any money, if he fights Joel Julio right now.. IT's a wrap. Mark my words.

make him sound like he's god?? that made you sound real stupid, how I made him sound like god? all I did was state the truth and thoroughly explained in apost why I feel ALL of you are wrong.. you make it seem like fighting on ESPN is a bad thing, he could fight on ESPN all he wants as long as he's fighting and keeping busy, when he's ready he will step up and he WILL get back to that level just let him do whatever he and his team feel is necessary to boost him back there, I don't see nothing wrong with fighting on ESPN and a bum is someone who hasn't fought anyone, I know you was referring to Edwin Vasquez and he's no bum, he had a draw with Antonio Diaz who if you didn't know put the 1st loss on Cory Spinks record, ain't no bum in him dogz he a tough guy, the only 3 people to knock him out were punchers who became stars..
Judah has what it takes to beat Cintron and Gomez and can give Margarito and Williams a good run for their money, he could even fight Joshua Clottey or Luis Collazo, shit even Joel Julio or Carlos Quintana and give them all that they can handle, my whole argument is that ya trying to make it seem like he doesn't deserve no title shot and that is wrong, ya making it seem like he's Prince Badi Ajamu or Sam Hill on some journeyman type shit and thats not true. judah went past 5 rounds against Spinks in their rematch with focus, he's proven he's capable of humbling down and winning he just has to do it again and what's all this contender talk yo? no way does Judah end up on a reality TV show, you act like he's a jobber now. your exact words were "Judah is not finished... But im sure he is finished with challenging world class fighters at the championship level." and you are 100% wrong.. 100

You've said it yourself. His own arrogance. Judah doesn't take nothing serious. Judah can only fight 5 rounds tops. After that the man just breaks down. He did catch Cotto with some good shots, but he really didn't hurt Cotto that bad. Rewatch the fight and look for yourself. As for the low blows... Pay backs a bitch, also Miguel Cotto is a body puncher, you can't blame him.
Judah has been given many chances, right now what he was to do is fight a couple of more fights before he can get another title shot. Who he gonna fight? A rematch with Cotto? I seriously doubt that will happen. Possibly Cintron, Gomez, Margarito or Paul Williams.. Many people out there. Judah needs to convince people that hes back. Not by fighting these bums on ESPN.
If Sugar Ray Leonard makes "The Contender Season 4" I hope it's in the Welterweight division. Put Judah in there. Im pretty sure he can outpoint everyone in 5 rounds. If that's what you think. Ya make Judah sound like hes GOD. :nonono:
Judah is not finished... But im sure he is finished with challenging world class fighters at the championship level.

you people can't be serious, Zab is done?? nah, ya are serious ya just crazy.. what makes you think a fighter so young, quick and strong is done? because Miguel Cotto beat him? one of the elite and no longer prospect Welterweights of the world, a world champion fighter, a guy who for damn near half of 30 fights fought past or present world champions and only 5 made it out in one piece, a guy who was able to chase down and pummel the master boxer Paulie Malignaggi? destroyed undefeated fighters in their primes and has a rock solid chin, you mean to tell me that because he lost to that guy he's finished? you guys are so quick to jump the gun until he does some shit to blow ya out the water then you gonna see the same people on here dissing Zab come back like "Zab can do it", stop riding the wagon and look at the facts for a quick second..
Kostya Tszyu beat Zab due to Zab's own arrogance, it wasn't because Tszyu was just some big ass power house (he is though but that wasn't the reason he won)it was because of Zab's wrecklessness, keeping his hands low and not so much that neither because he still does that and beat Spinks doing shit like that but it was him getting knocked down and 1.1 second later he was back up on his feet, knowing he was hurt and the round was close to done, hearing the 10 second warning and still just bouncing back up like it was nothing to try to assure the people "I'm Zab I can't be hurt" instead of staying down until 8 and regrouping, taking his rest and continuing the boxing clinic.. THATS why he lost, he never gave himself a chance to recover and that was HIS fault but it didn't mean he couldn't win..
Spinks beat him because he just didn't step it up and claim his win, he proved that because under rougher circumstances in the guys hometown he fucked him all up and all it took was an ounce of initiative, he made that clear. against Baldomir even a blind old man who didn't watch the fight could tell you why he lost, my cat could tell you why he lost and it certainly wasn't because Baldomir was some masterful boxer it was because, again, his own arrogance and not because he couldn't have won. against Floyd he just lost his temper and fed into Floyd's mind games, on top of not getting the knockdown scored to his favor and causing all them problems he lost his focus which lost him the fight, doesn't necessarily sound like someone who's done just someone who needs anger management classes, one of the first times I saw Floyd under pressure without his hands being the reason and definitely the first time I saw some in front of Floyd who was faster and went punch for punch with him..
against Cotto he was up against a powerhouse, an unreal fighter who just pummels down his opposition relentlessly, a guy who found his niche at Welterweight and was wayyyyyyy better and stronger than ever due to the weight change and the fights that prepared him to face Judah's style. Cotto is a beast and for most of the early rounds Judah tamed the beast and would have continued to do so but then comes the low blows, more than one low blow which all landed in the worse way a low blow can land, that fucked his whole mental game up and don't think it didn't hurt him the whole fight threw, it played a BIG part in him losing but it wasn't everything, Cotto did out maneuver him in the later rounds but that shit builds up dogz and that pain doesn't go away, add the low blows plus the cuts and thats a lot to carry against a machine like Cotto, Carlos Quintana being undefeated and coming off the best win of his life couldn't withstand a lesser beating, at least Judah made it to round 11, even hurt Cotto pretty bad and that was only 2 fights ago, you telling me he's done??
I know I just wrote a book here but it pisses me off when I see people kicking Zab while he's down now when ya the same people who was loving him while he was up, had nothing to say while he was doing him but quick as shit to bash him at a down point. Jameel McCline didn't do shit to deserve that title shot and I don't see no one complaining so why all the hate towards Zab, at least ALL his losses could've questionably went his way and then he comes back mad fast after his 1st devastating loss and goes some rounds with a battle tested opponent who was able to take his fight game and survive, now he's on his second comeback fight while Cotto is on his 1st and you mean to tell me he's done? you guys cleary need to re-think your words because it's not a good assessment on Zab Judah, he's an entertaining fighter and doesn't fend off just to win like Mayweather does and did against him, he gives you those "toe-to-toe" battles you guys want him having the skills to out box anyone and ya got the nerve to bash him? give the man his respect and for the record I ain't no personal friend of his or no DIE HARD fan I just respect those who deserve respect and Zab definitely does, it's just too bad ya can't see that.. HELL YEA he deserves another shot and mark my words he's gonna get it.. 100

He has a lot of fans & people like to see him fight.
It's the same reason DLH & Gatti got a lot of chances.
DLH is a whole diffrent level. As for Gatti he stayed and slugged with people. Judah doesn't do that.
Judah has been raped and lost 5 times. He doesn't deserve another shot at a title NOW! Probaly after he has atleast 3 good fights with names or prospects. He had his chances. He blew them.
you people can't be serious, Zab is done?? nah, ya are serious ya just crazy.. what makes you think a fighter so young, quick and strong is done? because Miguel Cotto beat him? one of the elite and no longer prospect Welterweights of the world, a world champion fighter, a guy who for damn near half of 30 fights fought past or present world champions and only 5 made it out in one piece, a guy who was able to chase down and pummel the master boxer Paulie Malignaggi? destroyed undefeated fighters in their primes and has a rock solid chin, you mean to tell me that because he lost to that guy he's finished? you guys are so quick to jump the gun until he does some shit to blow ya out the water then you gonna see the same people on here dissing Zab come back like "Zab can do it", stop riding the wagon and look at the facts for a quick second..

This guy doesn't deserve these big fights anymore...at BEST he should be considered a gatekeeper, a "toughest fight so far" for upcoming prospects.
Cotto demolished him and stepped all over his heart and will, and he's done at a championship level.
Brutally loses to Tszyu?
Loses to Spinks.
Loses to Baldomir.
Loses to Mayweather.
Loses to Cotto.
Why does this guy get so many freakin' chances?
He has a lot of fans & people like to see him fight.
It's the same reason DLH & Gatti got a lot of chances.
you can only get KO'ed so many times before youre skills deteriorate significantly...oh well, zab is a guy who could easily be a cory spinks or mayweather type runner but chooses to attack, so more power to him.
I wanna see the Zab Judah that destroyed the durable Cosmo Rivera, he looked confident and impressive in that fight. If he fought that way against Cotto he definately would have KO'd him, possibly in the first 2 or 3 rounds.
Well staying busy and beating two journeyman is at least better than nothing. Thats if he wins. He looked good at times in his last fight, but he got hit a lot more than I thought he would.
If he wins, I say put him in with one of the top contenders. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the lucky tune-up choice for Oscar.
As it says in EliteSolider's sig, Carlos ruined Zab Judah and Cotto finished him. He does not deserve another title chance yet, even though all of his losses have been more or less competitive. He needs about 3-4 fights, and at least one good name in there, and then he has a legitimate reason for a title shot.
