Finally Someone with Cred is acknowledging how I feel. ESPN's show #1's, ranked ODLH as the #17th most overrated athlete, team, instance in sports history. What do you guys think?
KingTito, nice, finally someone else saw this. Thank You.
No other boxers were on the list, some others on there was the davis cup, indie 500, Chris Webber, Nomar Garciaparia, The slam dunk contest, Eric Lindross, etc...
I was actually hoping Sugar Ray Leonard was on there too, but DHL was the only boxer
i actually saw the countdown on espn 2, oscar said on the show about how he disagrees, he said something about how winning all those titles in those divisions doesn't make him overrated.. it was on a while ago, i saw it months ago
Vince Carter is the most overrated basketball player but I think David Beckam is the most overrated player in Sports today. Beckam is practically a handicap as he can not dribble, pas or shoot with his right foot. His speed onteh field is below average, most goalies run as fast as him. His defense is attrocious.
Three things he's good at: passing, corner kicks, and free kicks.
I've yet to see good arguments on Vince being overrated. He was the most underrated a season ago and he probably won't make the all star team this season.
Mike tyson, second overrated ? not as good as larry holmes, marciano, gene tuney... man maybe he was not the best heavyweight, but in his prime he was a monster... People like too get nostalgic and bring up old fighters, they didn't even bring lennox lewis in the list, that prooves that the writer is an old fool
All those 'great' fighters Tyson destroyed in his prime could form a counter argument against him being vastly overrated?
He's the most overrated in fishnets, too.
BTW, Vince Carter is #1, Tyson #2, and Derek Jeter is #3

Vince Carter went from most overrated to most underrated NBA Player in the world. He can't be included.
If Tyson was in fact at Number 2 its the craziest thing i have ever heard.. in accomplishments he achived more than any other boxer. When people see greatness they just keep asking for more and more..
He's the most overrated in fishnets, too.

He belongs there.
Tyson is definitely not overrated, Tyson from the Late 80's was dominant and good of heavyweight as there ever was.
I dont think that its about being "overrated" with Oscar. I think people are confusing fame with accomplishments. I for one know that Oscar has lost mostly all of his MAJOR fights, but he was a big hit because of his looks and charisma. The casual fans (especially the women) knew who the "Golden Boy" was. I respect his resume, and his numerous attempts to take on the best in the world.

Don't go by that article thats not what aired. I'm trying to find a link to it, it just aired thou... Tyson was not on top 20.... Things like the Atlanta Braves, Bill Buckners missed ball were part of most over-rated.
Did they watch even one video of de la hoya in his prime? You have to agree that his big money fights came after his peak, but at his prime he was amazingly skillful and talented. Not to mention what he means to the sport and to recognition of talent at the lower weight classes, and all the athletes that have faced him and made a good living.
Mike Tyson #2, is this a joke? So what if there are ten heavyweights over Mike, how does that make him overrated? Worst article ever.
