i have to admit that i was once a fan of vivian harris but it's shit like this and his bullshit flapping mouth that make me not like him anymore and actually now i root against him.
he's full of excuses every time if something doesn't go his way, when in reality there is no one to blame but himself. vivian harris is classless crybaby who lives in a dream world full of denial.
all his losses he has some reason why he lost other than to say he lost fair and square. he blames his trainer, he blames being drugged, he blames the ref, etc. dude is the worst, i can't wait til he starts getting ko'd by lesser fighters, i would love to see him rematch maussa and lose to him again, or even someone even more unknown who has an uglier style than maussa.
if there is any fighter out there that needs to be blown out of the water so maybe he'll get the clue to quit boxing...
Actually, Harris said that Witter was drugged, not that he himself was drugged.
I have never heard such crying come from a fighter after losing, ever.

"First I would like to thank God for getting me back home safe in the United States. It was a horrible fight I was in. We got there seven days before the fight. They wanted us to come in three days before the fight and they didn't appreciate that we wanted to come in seven days before the fight and I think that was wrong. When we got there they didn't give us any food money, have anybody to bring us to the gym. I had to train in my hotel. They didn't start paying for the hotel until Wednesday, but the fight was everything you shouldn't expect in a championship fight. There was nobody allowed from my corner to make sure that his hands were getting wrapped properly. He's not a big puncher, but every time I'd get hit and bruised up. It was the worst experience I had.
"It was all shady. The day before the fight he was losing weight to make the weight at the hotel. Then on the night of the fight he's bigger than me and stronger than me. I don't know if they injected him with stuff, but I know I was there to fight and the first time I got hit I started getting bruised and he's fighting like he was a puncher. He's never beaten anyone of my caliber so for him to hit me with shots like that and hurt me, something was wrong."
I don't give him no credit because he didn't beat me fair. He knows he didn't beat me fair. The night of the fight he was so confident and after being scared the whole week because of what they did to make sure they win the fight any way they can.
"I was treated unfairly when I first landed and they did something to him"
"This is the first fight I lost that I know I didn't lose fairly.(I seem to remember him crying about Moussa beating him unfairly) I was in better shape and stronger than him until the night of the fight. Then I was weak and he was so powerful. Something went wrong in that dressing room, something went wrong with his blood and I hope we get a urine test or a blood test. But I'm not stressing that because they could control that too. I didn't even know I was training at his gym until after the fight. I had no protection over there, everything was in his favor and I got set up for the loss. They knew this was his biggest fight and they did what they had to make him win that fight by injecting him with whatever they had to."
Vivian Harris has now earned that feminine name of his, and he can wear it with pride. (Along with his thong and bra)
What a biotch
Hopkins corner entered the ring after Tito Trinidad Sr. entered... Steve Smoger saw Hopkins's people first though... should that have been a DQ? I don't know... rules are rules, but I think the spirit of the law should be a lot more important than the letter of the law.
Trinidad Sr. entered to stop the fight/throw in the towel. If Smoger was to DQ Hopkins when he saw his corner enter the ring, he would've realized that Trinidad was throwing the towel in.
yeah we all know what you mean.
but if the cornerman can't get their head around such a basic rule they
should be punished. id fine them but no suspension (at least not for witter)
Witter wouldn't get fined, only the cornerman. He should also be suspended for not following the most basic of rules.
Come on, dude, a rule is a rule. If you're caught speeding on an open highway at 2am, when nobody else is around, does that mean that the officer shouldn't write you a ticket? Of course not, you broke the law and receive your punishment. The same goes for Witter's corner. They broke the rule and should be punished. I'm not advocating a DQ now, that should've been done at the time, but he should be fined and given a suspension. The rule doesn't say that if the fighter doesn't appear as if he might make it up or you think the ref is going to call an end to the bout you may enter the ring; it says that you may not enter the ring PERIOD except for the 1 minute break between rounds.

I think thats a bit harsh 6 month ban and a dq? it was obvious he wasn't getting up.

GL: Are you concerned that people reading this who have not seen the fight might look at this as you just making excuses for the loss?
VH: "I don't think so because everyone knows when you go to England this is what happens. England is not a fair place to fight. Fighters have gone there and bad things happen to them. Fighters have gotten hurt badly over there. This is the first time I got dropped in a fight where my mind told me not to get up. The second time I got dropped my mind told me to stay down, but my will brought me up. I just got up too late. Thinking about it, I'm glad I got up too late because with how his hands got wrapped, I'm just happy I didn't get hurt. I don't care what nobody thinks, I have a family I have to live for but the fighters need to be protected and they didn't do that over there in England."
What a sore loser:nonono:
I cannot watch the vid right now as youtube is blocked at work, but I will once I get home. From what I remember, Harris was on getting on his knees when the corner jumped up (around the count of 6) and by the count of 8, the cornerman was already in the ring. The ref got to 10, and then waved the fight off. Just by the cornerman getting on the apron at the 6 second count should qualify as a DQ. Witter's corner should be finned and that guy should serve at least a 6-month suspension for what he did.

Oh, and the referee waved the fight off at the count of 8. Harris' eyes were glazed and had to be carried back to his stool by Witter's cornerman (what Harris' corner were doing god knows .... they even had to be told to get the stool).

Harris sucks, was he also drugged when he was almost ko'd by Juan Lazcano? Was he drugged when Carlos Maussa ko'd his ass? I hate you harris, cunt can't even take a loss like a man.
i second that opinion
Harris did not claim that HE was drugged, he claimed that Witter took some sort of drug
Man, some people's reading comprehension has really sunk to depths previously unheard of. I suggest you people read the interview again because what Harris said was that Witter looked weak and had to lose weight on the night of the weigh in yet, the next day, he was bigger and stronger and his attitude changed from "scared" to confident. Harris claims this comes from some sort of drug he took.
He's also complaining about his corner not being able to observe Witter's hands being wrapped and about the corner coming into the ring too early, before the fight was stopped. I have to agree with him on these two points, tho, because Witter's corner did enter the ring at the count of 8, and that should be, at the very least, a huge fine if not a DQ (which I believe it should be a DQ as the rules are quite clear).
I believe it was this new drug called "food". I hear that fighters take this drug in large quantities after the weigh in. Fighters deliberately don't take "food" prior to the weigh in as it has a detrimental effect on their ability to make the weight, but it can turn even you bog standard LWW into a monster in a matter of hours.

yes he was
yea he was drugged ,by the new drug on the streets call punch. that shit will have your leggs doing all kinds of crazy shit. the same drugs that Carlos Maussa camp gave harris on that night also. he need to stay out of the ring. there is alot of drugs in the there.

I was baffled by Harris' high rating by the Ring. I never rated this guy. He looks good in the first two rounds but then falls apart. He's a classic example of a strong looking fighter who just doesn't have gas in the tank.
Zab Jr.??? :lol1:
I've just read the article and I can't believe these are the words of a professional sportsman. I didn't know much about Vivian Harris before the Witter fight and he's not endeared himself to me in his actions after the fight. He fought like a girl, complained like one and 'Vivian' has always been a woman's name where I'm from, I'd have never guessed.
