I voted YES because lately all I've been hearing at boxingscene is that Hatton has no chance. So I guess Floyd is ducking the other top dogs.
Here is what it has to do with: $
So Mayweather fights Oscar De La Hoya weighing 148 pounds (basically making him a welterweight), fighting against an Oscar that probably weighed around 160 on fight night.
So everyone who voted yes, are you are actually saying that Mayweather is scared to fight "big" welterweights? I have problems believing that any of the welterweights blow up much bigger than Oscar on fight night.
And fuck you Tony628.
You were probably one of the people that said Ricky could beat Hatton, than when the fight is made you want to backtrack on what you said, people say Ricky can win and when the fight is made they are not satisfied, wow.
I wonder why Mayweather at the same age had a medal in the olympics, had been THE man in two divisions and already campaigning in a 3rd one.
On the other hand Malignaggi has lost his only big fight.
Mayweather is a second generation boxer and was brought up in the fight game...hence the silver spoons but Malignaggi was introduced to boxing while an adolescent. Hence their differences in accomplishments. My point is that now Paulie is quite the purest boxer especially since he has no punching power, therefore Miguel Cotto has fought that style of fighter.
Duck is a strong word, but lets just say he had a choice between Hatton and Mosley and he took the easier fight. Cant say he ducked Cotto because they were never interested in going that direction. Guys like Cintron, Williams, Margarito, etc. haven't done enough to get to dance with the p4p king.
Actually Margarito would have been the easiest fight. Only Mosley and Cotto would have given Floyd some difficulty. They're fighting each other. When Floyd beats Hatton(and if he continues to look for fights) he should fight the winner of Cotto-Mosley.
I have to disagree I believe Paulie is as gifted as Mayweather with great speed just like Mayweather. I just think Paulie didn't fight his fight and instead got suckered into fighting Cotto's fight. So have all the other opponents of Cotto.

lol Mayweather ducking Paul "The Punisher" Williams and fighting Ricky Hatton.
I think the whole ducking thing has gone a bit too far now. I don't know why it would be considered a bad move on Floyd's part by fighting a top ten p4p caliber fighter.

And tuggers, i am a fan of yours, but lets not ride the miguel cotto lovetrain yet, he aint never been in the ring with anyone like mayweather, and if judah was disciplined and fought like a man, rather than a domestic abuse victim scared to get hit again, he prolly would have beaten cotto.

Out of the possible 7 or 8 fights out there for him, Hatton is the easiest but also probably the most lucrative (outside of a DLH rematch.) You can't blame him, especially when he's a slave to the dollar.
:boxing: I think hes scared he might lose to the much bigger men at ww:boxing:
Yes, he's scared of the 147 pounders when he just beat a guy at 154... :pat:
