I have no argument with the stoppage. It's true that Hold threw the first punch in 30 seconds when the ref was pulling them appart, but the ref had already made up his mind. Holt was hurt, he was running and holding, and had been trapped in the corner, receiving punishment, without throwing back. I've seen much worse stoppages in my life; this one I won't argue.
As for the scoring, I had Holt up by one point prior to round 11 but, had the round finished, I would've given Torres a 10-8 round and then Torres would be up by a point with one round to go.
BTW, Holt fought a terrible fight, as far as fans are concerned. There's a huge difference between running and boxing and what Kendall was doing can't be called boxing by anyone with two eyes and an IQ over 65.
Stoppage was good, Holt got stung and he let go, he should've stayed on him, same with Mighty Mike. I hat to admit it but Torres is a bum, Cotto had a dumb ass strategy on that fight and made Torres look good, I don't see Torres beating Rabah or Paulie thou.
I saw a slip in the first round.
I saw no long count on the second knockdown.
Torres was hurt, but never on the verge of being stopped.
I saw a visibly hurt Holt that may have been able to go on.
I rarely saw Holt slip.
Some of these reports are ridiculous. The stoppage may have been a bit premature, but it wasn't horrible. I did see Holt get hit by a can though, that is fucked up. Other than that, it isn't nearly as controversial as people are saying it is, and it wasn't a very exciting fight either, very tactical until Torres got desperate.
Holts knockdown of Torres was better. Holt just exchanged with Torres too many times, either way i think Torres would have got to him as he did late in the rounds. Now i see why Holt wants the belt around his waist but is not to eager to fight Torres again.
Torres said he is looking to fight Hatton but since Hatton is fighting Mayweather he will fight anybody, and is still looking to fight Cotto again.
I told everyone that Holt tends to trade sometimes. Look what happens.. Torres hits hard.
Also Torres wanting a rematch with Cotto ain't gonna happen unless his ass moves up and beats a couple of more heads to draw attention. I still don't know why this fight wasn't televised.. This would've been good for Torres to be fighting on HBO.
Holt was against the ropes the majority of the fight. Holt has a fucked up chin. He has a weak chin, and torres hits hard as hell. Bad combination, and a bad match up for holt. I don't care if he was winning by points, holt may hit decent but he knows his chin sucks and thats why he never tried to finish torres off. Like when Holt had Torres stunned he didn't finish him off??? That shows you how hard Torres hits and how weak Holt's chin is. You can tell how weak guys chin is by the way they fight.
It wasn't his chin that really did him in, it was his lack of staying concentrated and continue to box Torres. Holt messed up when he decided to trade with Torres which happened too often.
Holt has the skills to outbox Torres and his chin held up very well, but his lack of staying on the outside and boxing is what did him in as well as him exchanging punchs. And all credit to Torres he was just a bull that night he keptt pressing forward.
That left hook.... Right on the chin..

I think Holt believed he could get to the US press, tell his story, and because the fight was in Columbia most people would never see the fight and just take his word for it. He was out, no doubt about it and is lucky it got stopped. Holt said on Fight News.com that he only felt one punch and that was in the fourth, can anyone believe that after seeing that left hook in the eleventh.
I belive he honestly belives that and he too will be surprised when he sees the video. Im sure he didn't feal a lot of Torres punchs that hurt him but the following morning he did, boxers must feel in a ton of pain after a gruling fight like this.
No robbery
Torres clearly won the fight by stoppage there was nothing wrong with the reffere in the way he did his job. In fact if you want to call it a bad reffering job then you can see in round 11 i think it was Holts glove touch the canvas, an automatic knockdown.
Holt didn't dominate Torres he may have been leading by a point or two but no way was he dominating Torres before he got ko'd. And it was a good stoppage Holt was hurt.
Torres pressed the action. Holt was on his bicycle most of the fight and when he had Torres hurt he wait too much and he should not have exchanged punchs with Torres.
What heart and conditioning Torres showed by gettting up from that knockdown wow, what a punch by Holt too bad he didn't go after him right away or when Holt had Torres hurt in round 10 or 9 at the end of the round and the following round Holt doesn't follow up to see how hurt Torres was.
Good fight, lots of drama. But Torres did win fairly.

besides, with the crazy fans, i think it was best for the fighters, that the fight was stopped fats, imagine if torres had landed another bomb and holt didnt get up, th fans would be all over the ring and holt still in the floor...
Yeah... He can barely move without wobbling and has to hold on to the ropes when Torres didn't even hit him. He didn't throw that whole exchange and was basically bent down when the ref stopped the fight... Holt threw a punch as the ref was standing in front of him and that was the first punch through all the punches.
If holt wasn't legitimately hurt, he sure looked it. It isn't good to hold on to the ropes, stagger around, and bend over when you are ready for the fight to move on.
Wow, what the fuck is everyone complaining about with the stoppage?? Holt was pulling a De La Hoya for the entire 11th round and was obviously fading. He got cornered and got caught and was on bad legs....he ran like a bitch and got what he deserved.
This is the one from WBVA?
If so... It seems to lag alot towards the middle. Not lag, but somewhat like static type shit.
Better than nothing though.
Yo you got Edgar Santana Vs Harrison Cuello?
