If You Were Given the Immense Option Of Selecting ONE Trainer From the Talented Pool Of Active, Living Trainers Operating Currently, Who Would You Choose???
I Would Have The Difficult Decision Of Selecting Between The King of The Kronk, Emanuel Steward and A Fellow Boxing Genius, Teddy Atlas......Floyd Mayweather Senior Is Another Great Trainer That Comes 2 Mind..... Ultimately History and Overall Knowledge Tempt Me To Choose, Lil Manny Steward...... Who's Your Ideal trainer That Meets The Requirements???????????
True, I Saw That On Legendary Nights.....That Was Some Str8 Bullshit...... I Almost Cried Seeing Meldrick Talking @ The End...... But Duva Hasn't Been all Bad.... That Was A Heavy mistake Though
No I loved Duva prior to that incident, but that was such a traumatic fuck up I can never forgive the man. I cry everytime I watch that episode of "Legendary Nights", partly due to the fact that I'm from Philadelphia and Meldrick was a hero of mine, partly due to the fact that I can't stand to see another human being suffering.
Telling Meldrick Taylor he needed to win the 12th round in his fight against Chavez, in a fight which Meldrick had already sealed by the 8th round, a fight which ruined Meldrick Taylor as a fighter and as a person forever.

Whats Your Problem With Duva?

One last thing, I'd love to have Bernard Hopkins in terms of an actual fighter who could train me. He gameplans so well. I'd never heard anyone say to fight Winky off your backfoot because his jab is overextended. That's a fine eye for detail that you could really use
Hopkins has a fine eye for detail that's certainly true, he will make a great trainer for anybody once he retires.
I would choose Manny or Joe Goossen. I think Manny is a great tactician and seems to give the best corner adjustment advice in my opinion. I have admired Goossen's work with Corrales and Shane Mosley for the 2nd Wright fight. He's a real calming influence in the corner. I think Teddy would work better for talented but real laid back fighters who need a fire lit under them although I would say he seems to give good instant advice. I would not want Buddy McGrist who I once thought was a great trainer but now seems to not be able to offer fighters much when down big on the cards. Emmanuel Steward would be the first choice. Freddy Roach the second. Lou Duva is a piece of shit scumbag whom I wouldn't let tape my hands. Teddy Atlas is a great veteran of the sport, and I think Floyd Sr. is the most overrated trainer out there. I'll take Nacho Beristein over Floyd Sr. anyday.
