Its the truth! In England DLH would have won the fight! He was the aggresser, and Mayweather wasnt..Mayweather did show some stunning skill 100% on that but he didnt no way do enough to win..It seems like it was Mayweathers belt and DLH was fighting to take it.. I was not convinced!
i agree. i had it 115-113 de la hoya...
i dont think mayweather did enough to win the fight...especially considering oscar was the champ and CLEARLY SHOWN he wanted to retain his title...kept coming forward...out worked floyd most of the night...in my book a draw is the closest i can come to saying floyd won...even then i'd be skeptical...
1) learn how to score fights
2) Oh wait... you gave Oscar a few rounds because he CLEARLY SHOWN he wanted to retain his title... LOL
You've never been hit in the liver I take it?
I have actually, and not by an off balance non heavy puncher.
Dis is my round
Bodyshot Bodyshot Bodyshot Bodyshot (chorus)
oooh my liver
De La Hoya didn't even care if he won that fight it seemed like, just like his previous one against Hopkins, ooh my liver...
You've never been hit in the liver I take it?
Me too really. If Floyd neutralizes Hatton't inside game he can't go to the body. outside of that I don't see Hatton giving Mayweather too much trouble. And I think Hatton will have balance problems for this fight. Especially in the way he lunges in and adding that with Floyd's speed.
If Mayweather neutralizes Hatton's inside game then he wins the fight. I don't think that this is even in question. It's a big task though.
Expect to see Hatton throw a lot of right hooks to the body.
This is what i been trying to explain for weeks now,
Im still wating for a logical explaination as to how and why hatton will beat mayweather.
Yesterday it was established that floyd lets his opponents walk up to him, hit him and the body and move out again, so therefore hatton will have nothing to worry about on dec 8th

That doesn't seem to matter. De La Hoya blocked and parried most of Mayweather's punches and yet even apparently unbiased punchstats gave Mayweather the edge. The difference in this fight is going to be throwing more punches, not landing them.
Yes true and I believe Maywether will throw more punches this time around becuase there is no fear of what Hatton can do.
Here's the problem with Hatton he is too wide open at times. And he lunges into his exchanges on the inside. And there's is enough time for a speedy guy like Mayweather to counter or strike first as Hatton comes in. Hatton doesn't have good defense. He will not be able to take punches away from Mayweather as Oscar did.

Anyone can be beaten. But the things Oscar did well Rick cannot.

Anyone can be beaten. But the things Oscar did well Rick cannot. Oscar has a great jab, it works when he uses it. And also he has the handspeed to match with it. Hatton's speed is not all that great and certainly not as good as Oscar's. Plus I believe Oscar is a much smarter fighter than Hatton when it comes to gameplan. Hatton usually only has one strategy and that's to get on the inside. Really if he cannot not do it he's ineffective because he can't rip away at the body. Oscar looked well becuase he can exchange when needed and is fast enough to get off first. And also he can box with you from an out side distance.

And there's is enough time for a speedy guy like Mayweather to counter or strike first as Hatton comes in. Hatton doesn't have good defense. He will not be able to take punches away from Mayweather as Oscar did. Because for the majority of the fight Oscar picked off a lot of Floyd's straight hands. Even though Floyd landed was able to land good solid shots at times. Oscar's versatility enabled him to keep Floyd honest for a large portion of the fight. That's why Floyd output was so low early on. He wanted to wait until the later rounds to strike and then slowly pull away which he did. Floyd showed Oscar tons of repsect early on. If you rewatch the fight Roger Mayweather kept insisting to Floyd not to worry because they will get him down the stretch.
To sum it all up. I don't think Floyd is going to have any concern with Hatton becuase he is one dimensional for the most part.
So what you are saying is that a guy who relied completely on his jab won the fight by landing less punches? I know Oscar is strong, but I don't know if his jab is stronger than a Floyd power punch, because that is basically what you are saying if you say Oscar won the fight. That or he should win because he threw a lot of punches, even if very little of them landed, which is a dumb judging philosophy IMO anyway.
The punchstats were bogus, Floyd didn't outland De La Hoya. It was around even for a lot of rounds. Besides which pro rounds are not about landing the most punches, they are about landing clean and most of all effective punching, and Oscar was the more effective puncher. His punches had more of an impact on the course of the fight.
Oscar is known for gassing out though. That's like saying... well, if Lennox Lewis had an iron chin, he would have been an undefeated fighter. I mean, it's true, but who cares? It's just not reality, Oscar doesn't have excellent stamina, so it's not like if it had happened the night before or after the result would have been different.
well no your wrong you can improve stamina. theres no way you can improve you chin
i agree with you 100%.
everytime i watch the fight again i find even a stronger case to argue for oscar...my scoring is still 115-113 for oscar but everytime i see the fight again he looks better and better to me...
thats just my opinion though.
i think it was a robbery and oscar should have retained the titles.
and to the guy who said floyd respected oscar's power but hatton is smaller, etc.
well that might be true HOWEVER if mayweather goes into this fight and doesnt respect hatton's power then we could see the #1 P4P champ knocked down...hatton will for sure make mayweather respect his power...
hatton is pretty strong for his size.
The thing is, I can't understand why there was not an upraw about the way the judges scored the fight..I thought as DLH had the belt then Mayweather should have brought the fight to him? IMO if the judges dont do there job right In the Hatton Vs Mayweather then there will be trouble as the English fans will go mad if they are robbed in this fight...There will be over 10,000 true fans going...Thats not fight talk but thats what will I think will happen
