too much speed, too good of a boxer, guzman beats marquez barrera and pacquaio...i think he'd have the most trouble with marquez though, and the easiest time with the flawed pacquaio
Only, now Pac will be fighting someone who is NOT Mexican. And unlike Mexicans, Guzman realizes that it is legal to actually move your head and evade punches.
Viva Quisqueya.
he's bound to det hit and when he does BAM!
I don't subscribe to triangle theories.
Exactly. And the fact that the smaller man Guzman outslugged the bigger stronger man. Guzman boxed when he wanted & outslugged him when he wanted.
I did watch the fight. But not the whole thing cause I got bored. I didnt know that you could whoop a guy for 12 rounds and still get a SD. I thought it only happens in Indonesia and Korea
I dont think u ever watched the fight :nonono:
Pacquiao turned pro @ 16 debuting at 106 (which is the minimumweight) pounds and has been through many wars. Zahir Raheem made him look bad because of the different styles that they have. Morales was destroyed when he was knocked out by Pacquiao in the 2nd fight. He started to loose his legs around Round 6 on that fight. Im on Pac's nuts huh? U HAVE NO IDEA
Uhh ok? Who is older has been through more fights and wars? Erik.. Morales was done by the second Pac fight.
Pacquiao may have started boxing at 16 but he is younger and in his prime.
Dumb Ass!! Watch the fight b4 saying shit. Joan Guzman whoped on him all 12 rounds.

Nope. I think he won by split decision so that tells you he had a hard time with Barrios

You know thats some bullshit you are talking right there! Morales turned pro @ 15 and had been through many wars prior to fighting Pacquiao.. You could already tell from the loss with Zahir Raheem that he wasn't what he used to be..
But of course you are probably on Pac's nuts so you wont look at thing realistically.

Barrera is still good IMO too. I thought he did very well against JMM. Just wasnt active enough. He is still a good threat to PAC. I agree that Barrera would beat Guzman.
People considered Barrera as an old "washed up" fighter right after Pacquiao beat him. Same with Morales. It seems like when Pacquiao beats a fighter, they become old and washed up.. its really funny. Anyways, I'll give Barrera a chance to beat Pac this October just because its his trademark to come back and surprise people just like what he did to Hamed and Morales. BUT I'll pick Pacquiao by KO8
Exactly why I'm picking Barrera. Everytime he's been written off he's come back and proven everybody wrong. It happened when he lost to Junior Jones, it happened when he lost the first fight to Morales (which most people thought he won)m and it happened when he lost to Pacquiao. I think his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez was amazing and I believe he was robbed of some essential points when he was not credited for knocking Marquez down.
I think people are once again writing him off, and calling his age into question, rightfully so though. I don't understand why Barrera would agree to fight Pacquiao again unless he knew he could beat him, surely it's not for the money because he's got enough of that. I think he's going to shock us all once more and go out on top, doing what everybody else had said to be impossible.....yet again.
Of course I could be wrong but my heart will be with Barrera long after he retires.

I do not hate Pacquiao and have been watching Guzman for a long time now, there was a time here on boxing scene where only me and runw/knives knew who the guy was.. You cannot deny he will do great things, you can just see the talent and skill. I like him as a fighter and a person.. I met the guy and he was extremely cool!
That's awesome man. I'm not denying that Guzman has the talent and skill needed to be a big star, I just think it's still to early to say he would dominate some of the skill level of a Juan Manuel Marquez.
People are too quick to jump on the bandwagon. I suspect most of Guzman's supporters have only come into the scene recently, or have some sort of hatred for Pacquiao. It's way too early to tell if Guzman is the real deal or not, he hasn't been tested the way someone like Pacquiao or Marquez would test him.
I'll even go so far as to say that Barrera could take him as of right now. Old or not Barrera has the skill to be both a ower punching brawler and a crafty technical boxer. He could switch styles on Guzman all night long en route to a UD. I don't think Barrera is as washed up as you guys think. I'm leaning towards him to beat Pacquiao.
