He always has "tapia" standing on the back of his trunks.
I'm desparate to see his fight against Johnny Tapia, because I only saw a few scenes and back then he already had it on there.
Why does he have it and for what reason?
Mexican people have two last names. Their fathers last name is always first, and their mother's maiden name comes second. So, his name is Marco Antonio Barrera Tapia. When Barrera has a child, Tapia does not get passed on, the name of his child will be X X Barrera and his baby's mother's father's last name. I learned all of this in Spanish class. Go to boxrec and look up a few Mexican fighters real name. Erik (middle name) Morales Elvira for example.
Thank you!! Got that fight too, maybe I shouldn't try that hard to skip off the commentators :)
Yeha they arn't family but I guess they are real good friends.
