Defensively ,i don't see how Cotto would not get hit a lot in this fight. Forrest has more speed ,better counterpuncher. I could see Cotto getting hit a lot in this fight.
The only chance id give Cotto is with relentless pressure and maybe tiring Forrest out late in the fight and catching him with a big shot. Other then that ,i could see Forrest building up a big lead early on.
Cotto is not a good defensive fighter
Why would a fighter move up to take a fight like Vernon Forrest when he doesn't have to do almost anything to make 147? Especially since the talent at 147 GREATLY eclipses the talent at 154. Seems like an awful career move to me. It probably depends on what weight it was at, and I don't see either fighter moving to the other's weight class.
Why do people continually pick cotto to loose? I mean everytime someone mentions him to fight someone lots of people say he's gona get ko'd.
I think cottos heart would take him through like against zab.
cotto by late ko due to forrest getting tired of the pressure and eventually getting caught with a mean left hook.:boxing:
I think Cotto could actually win this fight. Forrest might prove to big though.
But if Cotto can still get past Forrests jab, which i personally dont think would be a huge problem for Cotto, then he could work the body well enough to score maybe a Late round TKO.
But again, i think Forrest may be to big for that. I wanna see what it looks like when they stand next to eachother.
Forrest can't skim down.. so it'd be at 154.. At 154 (Remember, Cotto is a WW that doesn't even get to 147 before the fight.. With Judah he was 146) At 154.. Forrest probably knocks him down a couple times, if not, out. And I like Cotto. It's just, too big a size difference.
Forrest KO late. No way could he take all of the shots Baldy took. And I'm not overrating Forrest he's only lost twice officially. And his shoulder a hundred percent. His upper body was well built for last nights fight.
One win over Badly and now Forrest can beat Cotto. His shoulder will never be the same, his jab isn't as strong, and his power seems to have diminshed slightly. Chill on the Cotto fight dude, even Forrest said he's not all the way back.
i probly would have to say cotto by UD. forrest is no spring chicken he couldnt handle all of cottos pressure and body work and still be able to hit him with meaningful shots. he would be fighting very defensivley imo.
But Baldomir caught a lot of big shots from Forrest as he was coming forward.
We dont know if Cotto could take those same shots from Vernon and still keep up the relentless pressure.
Judah hurt Cotto a couple of times and i think Vernon is a more accurate puncher with more power then Judah and longer at 6-1.
forrest is trying to get to the top, i believe he needs like 3 or 4 fights b4 getting in the ring to resist cotto's body punches, i don't think forrest can't resist in the long run
